I think a lot of people underestimate the lyrics because much of it speaks to being queer specifically. "This hell" and "burning up" isn't just what religious zealots say will happen, but also describes what it can really be like to be queer in a world discriminating against you. Having someone going through that hell with you, whether romantically or just with other queer people in your community, really makes things better and you feel less alone. "This life gave us nothing to lose" kinda made me tear up for that same reason.

Saw Rina perform this last night live with my girlfriend on our 4 year anniversary. Was such a great moment to be in an environment full of people like me and her just celebrating who we are. It's been a very hard four years dealing with the homophobia from my girlfriend's parents who refuse to accept her and the relationship we have. I'm so glad Rina produces the music she does, when this song came on we screamed it at the top of our lungs and seeing my girlfriend be so free and happy made me so so happy.

I think a lot of people underestimate the lyrics because much of it speaks to being queer specifically. "This hell" and "burning up" isn't just what religious zealots say will happen, but also describes what it can really be like to be queer in a world discriminating against you. Having someone going through that hell with you, whether romantically or just with other queer people in your community, really makes things better and you feel less alone. "This life gave us nothing to lose" kinda made me tear up for that same reason.

Whatching this again I only now realized that in 3:34 when she's inviting the protesters and says "this hell is better with you", it's meant as a welcoming for them. People can always overcome hate and hell might not be that bad of a place if people can just *be* there. I love how that little details makes "heaven" to look like real hell. A nice ending to the mv.

Saw Rina perform this last night live with my girlfriend on our 4 year anniversary. Was such a great moment to be in an environment full of people like me and her just celebrating who we are. It's been a very hard four years dealing with the homophobia from my girlfriend's parents who refuse to accept her and the relationship we have. I'm so glad Rina produces the music she does, when this song came on we screamed it at the top of our lungs and seeing my girlfriend be so free and happy made me so so happy.
