    I like the three Alphaba tops and the colours are so you. The Champagne Cardigan will look once finished. The Oslo hat looks good. My goodness the pink dolman sleeved sweater is wow. The Snowflake Sweater is saved because you were able ro access more yarn..The yarn for the Magnolia Sweater is simply beautiful. You have so many plans and the yarns to go with it. I am pleased to hear that you have an improvement in yoùr health. Take care ❤😊

      @@mostlyknitting My sister Cathy has been discharged from the Step Down Hospital on Monday. On Tuesday last week her husband lost consciousness in the lower hit his head and cracked his ribs. I have not heard the final diagnoses as we saw him on Sunday in hospital. He was discharged yesterday. I am keeping well. We are having Artic weather with storm surges, very heavy rain at intervals plus snow in some towns. There is flooding in some towns in poorer areas. Disaster Management is incredibly busy along with other aid organizations. We just hunkered down yesterday keeping warm.

    I prefer toe-up socks, and a good way I’ve found to differentiate the increase rounds from the plain rounds is to do yarnover increases, then knit the yarnovers through the back loop on the plain rounds so that there are no holes. The yarnovers are so easy to see that you never have to wonder which round you’re on. Glad you’re feeling better…see you in a couple weeks.

    That was so much fun Tash. So glad you found an extra ball in the same dye lot 🎉
    I loved all that swatching, it’s great to see how yarns play together.
    Glad you’re feeling better. Housework is overrated, we’ll all be dust soon enough so bring on the play. Happy knitting, Karen

    Another lovely podcast, Tash. Thank you so much. Did I mention that about a year ago I bought the MYak baby lace in the same colour for the Fjolla. I think that is the same yarn/colour Isabel Kraemer used. Yet to knit it, but you've inspired me. I also visited Skein Sisters last week and bought the 8 ply Fiddlesticks Peppin, which I plan to pair with some stash mohair for Anne Ventzel's Villa Wrap. Now, I am hoping it doesn't pill too much. I mentioned to Tash at Hand Make Create that you mentioned her new store in your podcast. We are so lucky now with both Skein Sisters and Hand Make Create. I love my Eva Cardigan so much that I bought yarn at HMC to knit another. So glad you are feeling so much better. I look forward to seeing all your progress when you podcast again in two weeks. Again, all my thanks.

      Thanks so much Rhonda. I am really looking forward to making the Eva Cardigan as well. Happy to hear you love yours. I think holding mohair with the Peppin may help with the pilling. It is lovely and soft so i think you will enjoy working with it. :)

    So many lovely works and upcoming plans! Great to hear your symptoms are getting better! 👏🏼 I wish I could borrow your swatch information and your swatch discipline. My knitting gauge is typically loose these days. Funny I just printed my Fjolla pattern out this morning! It’s been on the radar for a while and is so lovely!

      @mostlyknitting  3 месяца назад

      Thank you so much Leanne. I could do with a slightly looser gauge - everything seems to be coming out a bit tight. I wonder if i will loosen up when on holidays. The Fjolla is just gorgeous. I am so excited to be starting it soon. Just need to do another swatch a needle size larger to see if i can get closer to gauge. What yarn do you plan to use? Glad to hear you are looking after yourself. :)

    I love your ideas for tutorials especially number 3. As a newish knitter I find this to be the most confusing aspect of making. Especially when I don't have the same gauge in a swatch as I do my actual knitted item. I love knitting but sometimes it becomes so overwhelming and frustrating to make an actual garment and not feel like I'm wasting money, time I have, $ not so much lol

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much Kera. I will definitely do a tutorial on that soon. I have talked about it a bit in the podcast at times but it would be good to have a tutorial dedicated to that. what to do if your gauge is a bit different to the pattern. :)

    Wow Tash, the Snow Flake looks beautiful!!! Fantastic that you’ve found the same dye lot!😃
    After looking at a gazillion yokes, I finally decided on the Riddari for my 2 yarns that were ‘randomly disappearing’ into each other problem due to both colourways having a bit of black in them. However the Riddari is bottom up, so I’m doing it top down and have followed your tutorial on how to calculate short rows underneath the yoke pattern. Thank you for such a clear explanation with diagrams! 🥰
    Happy holidays!

    Lovely to have you back, Tash, and I'm glad you're giving yourself breaks....and that these big commitments are almost finished. I'm swooning over the Magnolia Bloom sweater yarn, and also the yarn for the Eva cardigan....both so beautiful. Wonderful that your symptoms are abating and you've got some fun things to look forward to. I'm plugging along on Andrea Mowry's Vellichor, which seems to be slow going but is easy and fun to knit, using yarn leftover from a sweater I knit for my sister. Congrats to your son for his award!

    Loving all your knits Tash, and happy to see you! The color of the poppy tee is so vibrant! I would love for you to give a review of those cord extensions, I bought some of those on etsy (another brand) and find they are bad quality and not useful, they actually made me loose my stitches! but I hear people raving about them and am wondering wether to invest in some higher quality ones. I mostly knit on tighter/smaller gauges so not sure they exist for smaller needles (?) So glad to hear that you are feeling better! take care of yourself! 🌷

    With Shore Tee I feel like the best result is a combination of a negative ease and drapey fabric.
    My first one was knit on 2,75mm needles from Tynne Line. Looks amazing, lots of compliments!
    Second one was from Drops Belle on 3,5mm and is way too big for me.
    The last one (so far) was knit of Holst Garn alpaca held double on 3 or 3,25mm needles. Not bad, not the best.
