    Hey Tash!! Love the friend from the vault. I know what you mean about a cami under a top.. ugh! I'd probably rip back if you want to keep the tee. Love snow wonder, it's so good. Randwick Ritz was my local growing up, i went to school next door at Brigidine. You lucked out with an easier name!! Yay that life is settling down, being too busy is just too much at times, been there, done that, got the t-shirt..... UGH!!!! Champagne cardigan might make it on my list, looks like it will be a perfect oversized staple. Happy knitting and exhaling!!! Enjoy your trip, it's so lovely there in winer, Karen x

      Thanks so much Karen. I used to live in Randwick when my daughter Mia was a baby and i taught up the road from Brigidine at St Catherine's in Waverly. I loved the area but definitely priced out of it when it came time to buy a house...
      Yes - Natasha was definitely a lot easier than Ninotchka would have been. It wasnt a common name but at least people had heard of it. My maiden name was Balaz so you can imagine "Ninotchka Balaz". I am grateful for my mother's final choice. :)
      I am glad you have made conscious choices to not overdo things in your life. It ends up feeling like just existing from one thing to the next rather than living each day with choices.

    Love watching your podcast Tash! So many pretty designs you’re making and going to make! The Knitting Loft is actually near me! I don’t drive there too often, they are more in the city, where I am not!! I order from them all the time! They are super fast! I have a request, if you have time. Can you do a tutorial on how you separate for the sleeves, and how you cast on the extra stitches? I tend to leave holes under the arms!!!! Maybe I’m not picking up the stitches under the arms properly. What am I doing wrong!!😂 that would be so helpful. Thanks Tash. Enjoy your week. Antoinette.

      Hi Antoinette. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I dont yet have a video where I actually split off the sleeves but I do have one where i pick up the stitches to avoid holes. This is the link. ruclips.net/video/86Rpy7R02CU/видео.htmlsi=vsACWSMBvsHVqg6m I hope it is helpful. I can definitely do one when i actually split off and the cast on i use for under the arms - I usually do a backwards loop but I cast these on really tightly. Next time i cast on for under the arms, i will be sure to video it. :)

    Re camisole colour - have tried what I recently read to not wear a white bra or camisole as it shows too much even under white and replace with nude colored bra and it is much better! Since you are requesting feedback on Clover, I think you should shorten the yoke of your Clover as it looks like it is too long which could make it gape at the underarm. Good luck with this! Have several 50” cables for my Chiaogoo interchangeable needles so I can easily try on my top down sweaters anytime. Thanks for a great podcast!

We are of the same mind with the long cables for trying things on. I have a few long fixed circulars but i think getting a few long cables would also be good. I quite like the Extension Cords now too, especially when i am trying on towards the end for length and dont want any distortion from the cable. However I’ve found ones such as The Three Faces of Eve, Letter to Three Wives and some Joan Crawford movies-all free. And I’ve recently watched Holiday with Katherine Hepburn because I need to emulate her accent for a play I’m in - best research ever!🤣🎬
    I am always worried about the lace or colourwork design going too low. I ripped back a design once that had VERY awkwardly place circles right in the middle of each …😱🤣🧶
    Congratulations on getting all your big commitments done and dusted!!! 🥰

      I always think i am not keen on Westerns but then i usually like them when i am watching them. I loved the Three Faces of Eve. Joanne Woodward is a great actress. I dont think i have seen Letter to Three Wives. Maybe i have but can't remember. Where did you find that one? Joan Crawford was such a powerful actress. And Katherine Hepburn - i could watch her in anything. I love her screwball comedies like Bringing up Baby. I just want to go watch movies now....

      @@mostlyknitting Hi Tash, if you search for the title A Letter to Three Wives and choose one of the free ones you’ll then be able to see what else that channel has on offer. Retrospective-Classic Movies is a good channel and Pizzaflix is OK too. There’s a whole Bette Davis collection on DK Classics II too! Sorry but if I post a direct link, RUclips will delete my comment. Happy nostalgic viewing!!! 🥰🎬⭐️

    For the T I would rip back 2 sets of the lace motif and do the bottom of the yoke in stockinette it will look with the same proportions than the model of the pattern

      Thank you so much. I think it must look longer than it actually is, maybe because there is no body underneath it when i held it up. I think a nude cami is going to work but will report back next week. :)

    I think the t’ looks good. Just wear a nude colour sports bra/bralette. I looked at design pattern and she has more positive ease, which may make a difference. Looks lovel on you.

    Another great podcast! I always watch yours as soon as I see a new post! For the cotton tee, I agree with a previous comment to wear a skin colored sports bra underneath. I do this with my lace yoke tees and it works out just fine. IMHO. 😊

    Tash I'm such a fan of your videos!
    Slightly specific recommendation, but if you're shopping for a skin-colour camisole that's good for summer I've had good luck with Uniqlo's "airism" ones - they're very breathable and so maybe that will help with the extra layering?

    a thought regarding the clover T, you might get a silk camisole in a pretty color and wear it under the T. embrace the see through effect and let it shine.

    Hi Tash…I learn something from you every time I watch and I never miss an episode. Today I was thrilled to see you are also working on the Clover Tee. I too am a “smaller person” and am always needing to modify patterns (without your math skill I afraid!). I ended up ripping back the yoke to two finished vertical clover designs (about round 35 on the chart), used lifted increases for the omitted clovers, & cut out 4-5 plain knitted rounds to make the yoke smaller. Saved me about an inch before separating for the sleeves. Not sure it’ll work out but I didn’t have much choice. Wish me luck! I’m very Interested in what you choose to do!

      Thank you so much Enid. I am glad you found a solution that worked for you. I think i can make it work with a nude cami and keeping it a top but a little bit oversized - which i am ok with for this tee. Fingers crossed. I'll report back next week. :)

      Thank you so much for the suggestion. I think it would make a great jumper but i dont think i would wear a jumper in this colour. I agree it will probably be too hot for hot weather so i might need to keep it for spring and/or for wear at work in air conditioning. :)

    Thanks for sharing your knitting enthusiasm! I have frogged 2 projects with knitting for olive pure silk… can’t seem to get even tension and/or the fabric just looks old/worn. Maybe I’m just used to the feel of wool?? Anyone else have this problem?

      Thank you so much Brandi. It definitely is different to other silks - not as smooth and shiny. I had to go down a needle size and it does look better with blocking. Have you blocked it yet?

    Hi Tash 😊 may I ask? What is your favorite technique for a one row Stripe in the round. Every thing I’ve done so far is not great.

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  27 дней назад

      Hi Micheline - it’s a good question. I have to say, i don’t think i have ever done single row stripes in the round. I wonder if others reading this might have any tips?

  • @Barnswallowcreates
    @Barnswallowcreates 27 дней назад

    I do have a question about swatching. I have heard it recommended that if you are knitting in the round you should swatch in the round. Do you find it adequate to swatch flat instead of in the round? Most of the swatches you talk about are flat and your garments fit great : )

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  26 дней назад

      Hi there. I think this really depends on whether your gauge when purling is significantly different to your gauge when knitting. I find that my gauge when knitting stockinette in the round is pretty much the same when knitting and purling back and forth so i always do flat gauge swatches. But if you find there is quite a difference, then i would do the swatch in the round. Hope that helps. :)

    Just wondering why you order your De Rerum Natura yarn from Canada when it’s available at Sunspun and (a smaller range of colours) at The Little Yarn Store. Wouldn’t postage and exchange rate make it more expensive?

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  Месяц назад

      Hi Jenny. I had originally ordered the yarn for Snow Wonder from The Knitting Loft and had it delivered to my in-laws in the US and they brought it out to me when they visited (no shipping cost!). But then when i ran out of yarn, i wanted to try to get the same dye lot - hence buying again from The Knitting Loft and having to get it shipped...
