Honestly, New Yorkers do have an accent obviously, just like everyone does but it certainly is not the Italian accent. If you've lived here long enough, like I have, you hear it frequently on the trains and such. I have that slight accent too. I'm not sure how to describe it though.

@@jenuwinmoore9258 Okay, the accent wasn't bad. But it was exaggerated. And it's more like an impression of the guys from "Goodfellas." Italian-American New Yorkers from certain neighborhoods talk like that (these days in NYC most of them are on Staten Island, where I live). But I just can't get past calling the slice of pizza "a cheese". And also, as a native New Yorker I don't agree that we're all rude, but why does she say "Cheese, please on the double!" The "on the double" cancels out the "please". If someone said "cheese on the double" to me and I'm working behind the pizza counter I'd tell him to get the f*ck outta my face, I don't care if he said please! (Maybe if it was a pretty girl like that I wouldn't though.) This is how a New Yorker orders a plain slice of pizza, what Californians apparently call a "cheese slice": We say something like, "Hey, lemme getta slice!" Totally polite and to the point, and everybody knows it just means a plain, regular slice.
