"...Involved in a religious movement called the followers of the way" Me: *pauses and scrolls down to the comments to see how many ugandan knuckles refferences there are*
My ex-girlfriend was raised in a Christian cult kind of like the one in this story- her parents sent her to a religious boarding school that abused the girls there and she has lots of mental scars because of it. Religion hurts just as many people as it helps. That’s one of the cruel realities of this world- no matter how good someone thinks something is, there’s always an equal amount of bad to balance it out. This was a great story- thank you for reading this.
So I just bawled my eyes out. I don't know who wrote the story but the writing is incredible. I was hooked from the first sentence. You narrated this story exceptionally well. Shook me to my core. Loved this and I believe in God.
Lord Beerus exactly. To each their own but this. This made me become that character and feel his pain. In my eyes hate is learned...love is natural. Stories like this though help me see perspective sometimes...breaks my heart.
It always pisses me off to heads about parents abandoning their kids for a cult. I admit, I'm not a parent, but I don't think it takes being one to know that as a parent you are always supposed to be their for them and give them love and understanding. And these parents who throw their children away like the father did in this story are really just very weak-minded when it really comes down to it. ANYWAYS, off of my soapbox, lol, this was really good. One of the that made it good was how realistic this story is, because shit like this happens all the time.
If you look past the typo in the title... this is actually a really sad story. The kids couldn’t have changed it yet they were put through that. I listen to these stories so that I can scare myself but this one really hit me hard in the feels. It’s an unusual feeling because it makes me sick although I know that it wasn’t real. The whole experience is described in such detail that I was on the verge of tears. I can speak from experience that being pressured into something because ‘god will reward you and you will be free of sin’ is nothing short of hell. I was raised in a strict Christian household. I would be shunned or shouted at if I said anything to question god, I can just remember my parents saying “go to sleep now, kiddo. God will make sure to rinse and cleanse you of all evil, if he discovers that you are too far gone then he will push you into the depths of purgatory where you shall rest for millions of years. Sweet dreams”. This whole story reminded me of some twisted shit and I can say for sure that religion, faith. They are all pure excuses for others to manipulate people who believe.
Sometimes the worst monsters are not the demons and ghouls that stalk our nightmarse. Rather it is the evil and wickedness of humans that can the most horrifying.
Seriously, like, I'm a huge animal lover, more than a lot of people I know, but god, the Brad sacrifice thing hits me a little harder than the Bear thing. Like, jesus, that's, agh, as someone who is LGBTQ+ it's like, wow, I, no words, that poor poor kid...
I as a young gay listening at midnight, this made me cry holy shit I'm admitting that on the internet oof yea there are fresh tears on my face still. Brad I'm so sorry I know you arent real but holy shit

Psyjinx I'm not a huge fan of long stories. I was starting to get sleepy and disinterested by the middle of the story. I still listened to it though. I wanted to know how it ended.
This had to have been one of the best pastas I have heard in a long time. I enjoy your readings every time I tune in but when you get stories like these, they stand out so much. Your style of narrations and your vernacular are enthralling, engaging and entertains with a dash of class....with a touch of cheese at certain points. It really helps that these sound like the old radio shows from the forties. Brother, you have a talent for this. Keep up the great work.
I can tell on every video you take your time to perfect it and I really enjoy all of your videos! You deserve all your subs and even some more!!! You are doing great keep it going!!!'
As a Christian, I feel sorry for the protagonist, even if they aren't real. No one should ever be subjected to those kind of things. Cults are always bad news. To think, if he had internet, he could've learned about some of the more infamous cults like JonesTown/PeoplesTemple or Heavens Gate. But for the sake of story, he didn't. Also, I wanna say that atheists don't get a bad rep for being nonreligious. It's because of the Militants who go around like: "HURR DURR RELIGION IS CANCER AND SHOULD BE ERADICATED AND ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE SHOULD BE PUT INTO MENTAL INSTITUTIONS" or something like that. As for me, I have a few atheist friends who don't really care about religion in general so they respect me and I respect them. Militants are just annoying. At this point I'm rambling so either way, good story. 7/10 would sad again
I appreciated this one. Problem with a lot of creepypasta stories is that they rely a lot on religious context and beliefs, the supernatural, mythical stories, and it often makes it seem like thats the only way someone can write a good scary story. Something like this shows that evil does exist, but not from demons or undead or nightmarish creatures, but from just mankind, from religious indoctrination, from what that mentality adults follow do to children and how it fucks them up. This was a very grounded story in that sense, no demons, no spirits, just the evils of mankind at its worst.
I believe you would enjoy the story "I dared my friend to ruin my life". It's the best Creepypasta i've listened to in the "realism" category. It's genuinely scary, not because of standard horror, or in a "i'm too afraid to go to the toilet in the dark" sense, but because it could actually happen like that in reallife and if you imagined to be in the main characters role, you'd hardly find a way out. That is really scary shit right there.
This is the second most heartbreaking creepypasta I've ever read (because Borrasca). Even down to Bradley's so called "sinful lust"... ugh, I just... ah man, I fucking can't.
AwesomeSpider4 dude same I never really followed much religion, but after actually reading the bible it was the trippiest shit I've ever set my eyes on It's so many levels of fucked up it's ridiculous
God created Adam and eve. They bore two sons, Cain and able. Cain slew able and was banished to a far away land, where he took a wife.....where tf did she come from?
Yeah I started doubting when I convinced my parents to skip the preaching to spend my time in the church library and read. I realized I was gradually starting to read it with the same mindset as I get when I sit down and read a fiction book like harry potter. It actually surprised me when my siblings told me the stuff actually happened.
AwesomeSpider4 you're taking a verse out of context. the next verse says: 17 If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equal to the bride-price for virgins. the woman does NOT have to marry a rapist, she must only do what her father says. Now in the culture 3500 years ago, virginity was highly prized. It would have been very difficult for a woman who was not a virgin, and especially a woman who had been raped, to find a man to marry her. a woman without a husband would have a very difficult time providing for herself. This is why the passage leaves marriage to the discretion of the father, because every situation is different, and it is better to be flexible than have a blanket rule. In case you didn't know, these were laws given to the people of Israël 3500 years ago that dont apply anymore today: Romans 6:14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. any other objections?
This was very sad. As a mother, this makes me wanna take care of every child in the world myself. I can guarantee you I won't hurt them and will defend them against evil 😈 like this. I'm the LAST thing in the darkness an abuser wants to face.
This is far creepier than most other creepypastas I've heard, precisely because this kind of thing very well could happen in reality, and that is disturbing to me.
Thanks for the narration MCP, awesome telling of such an emotional story...well witten by the author RaydiantWon, such emotion put from pen to page. I was on the brink of tears.
I don't know, god in some cases sounds worse than the unknown. Are you sure it isn't more of a guess than an excuse? Because I don't believe people face their fears by trading it with another.
I love how this author makes a statement about atheists and in immediately proves it. They get a bad rap because they actually legitimately believe that they're very existence strikes fear into the hearts of religious people.
Richard Hall I'm Christian. Hardcore Christian. Video actually caught my attention and curious to hear what it says! And see the comments! If you want to see something creepy, Google image search: Shroud of Turin. Image of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion 1 second before his resurrection. Quite the artifact, nothing like it in all human history.
This was terrifying. Religions brainwashing is scarier than any ghost story. Christianity is toxic, and religion as a whole, is poison. Also, really disappointed you made the character straight. It felt like you just threw in heterosexuality in, despite the fact that he was clearly gray. It didn't fit with the story, felt ad libbed.
So the protagonist was raised between cultists (not religious people ) , cults are mostly made by people who bend the original form of the words of God that’s why the Bible has more than 10,20,40,70 versions there all twisted words that original were meant to make people more wise, but when a word or two is changed in a single verse it could change a lot .
You dont even know what the original said. Modern bibles are just copies of translations or copies of translations of... and so on. Not to mention there are only scraps and pieces left of (what we believe to be) the original. Or that nobody can even read the language they were written in anymore. All we know is that there are lots of translation or copy mistakes in all modern versions, not to mention that the stories dont add up and there are massive amounts of inconsistencies in the bible. So yeah.. changing a word or two can change a lot - so why are you even paying the slightest bit of attention to a book that consists of more changed words than original ones, and even those were translated and potentially misinterpreted multiple times over?
I know this is fiction, but considering the crazy cults out there and what they’ve done, I wouldn’t put it past them if something similar to this hasn’t happened already. In fact it really pissed me off and makes me want to see these people get their comeuppance. That’s how visceral this story felt.
I had a "similar" situation. Without the crazy cult or self mutilation but my old baby sitter when I was 7 or so was interesting. I prayed and prayed for my tooth arch to end and she made it stop with a prayer to God. She also made me memorize verses and wouldn't let me eat till I memorized it all. One day she made we watch the passion of the Christ, that old ass movie about Jesus and she wouldn't stop crying. She prayed so intently that I way her spine twist (not even joking but I was 7 years old so idk) it wasn't till I was 12 that I started having nightmares, around the time my faith starting lacking. Overall an interesting memory now that I'm older but still freaky
This is one of the best Creepy Pastas which I have ever heard. It was so realistic. I really liked that it was something that could happen in the real world. And that there was an important lesson to it. But perhaps most of all, I liked the fact that it had a (mostly) happy ending. That's rare in Creepy Pasta stories. I hope that some people out there, who are in religious fundamentalist groups (or are approached by them), will hear this story, and really think about this.
_That ending._ That had to be the most insane twist ever. There is no way in vagina stomping hell anyone saw that coming. I am gonna be lost in an ethereal, existential crisis of nonstop thought that will not end until everyone I have ever known has abandoned me for I have become a vegetable simply lost in thought. If I were to ever hear anything even close to that level of a twist, there is no doubt in my mind, that my ears would bleed and my eyes would explode. That twist, that twist. I can only hope to ever encounter a twist that perfect as I spend the rest of my life searching hopelessly to fill the void that every further story will surely fail to sate. That twist, that twist. Thank you. For that twist.
This is by far the best short story iv heard maybe its my biased for loving cult themed stuff in general i cant believe i skipped over this one for so long. I think the biggest inspiration for this story is jim jones i just get that vibe and i love it
I, too, had scientific reasons as to why, but this quite literally made me worry. It's moments like these when you realize how good a story (and the story teller) are at what they do.
I have had so many emotions through this video mostly anger at the cult and I started tearing when I realised what they where going to do to bear but mostly anger. this is a very emotional story and I liked it but also hate it probably because I'm that attached to my dogs but nevertheless good story

The subplot about Brad broke my heart.
"With this knife and pastor I will remove my lust"
Why did the dog have to die? WHY DO ALL THE ANIMALS HAVE TO DIE?
religion
I really wanted to hear some revenge :(
I love how your able to balance good and bad in a story to make the perfect narration Bravo
Religion is a cult regardless. Even if God exists the Bible was written by man therefore it's not perfect
So yeah.. changing a word or two can change a lot - so why are you even paying the slightest bit of attention to a book that consists of more changed words than original ones, and even those were translated and potentially misinterpreted multiple times over?
jesus christ this was an emotional roller coaster for me. this hurt to listen too. it's a really good creepypasta.
This is the best Ceepypasta I've hear in a long ass time. Props to the author
I narrated the heck out of this story! U R so very talented! I love listening to u!
Are people over looking that the dude best friend loved him! And he gave that up for God?
I would have slit the pastors throat
lol I love my dog as a 16 year old. I was know for getting into fights. that pastor would be dead
Those who emit the most brilliant light often cast the darkest shadow
And he never told the police
Fvcking metal, dude.
I already liked the video even before I began listening
That's retarded
Ethen Brown it's retetarted to already know if a video is going to be good?
If you think so because it has the word atheist, yes.
Ethen Brown no. This is mrcreepypasta your talking about. All of his videos are amazing.
I love the stories that are so grounded in reality, but they're always so sad
Okay then if you're not scared of anything do the midnight game see if you survive
SoulKamikaze11 did you do everything collecty that's was too fast
goku black hows it work
SoulKamikaze11 I'm sorry you didn't get any sleep I didn't know you was going to do it I was talking to the the guys telling the scary story
When she says I have Never felt it that deep don't worry man I always be ready to fight you
When she says I have Never felt it that deep British people tend to speak English, they do not
_That ending._ That had to be the most insane twist ever.
NNNNNOOOOOO BBBEEEAAAARRRR 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
this story was great keep up the fantastic work mcp I love your channel
WHY NOT CALL 911
Truly frightening story telling..
Thumbs up
now i want a second part where the protagonist casually slaughters every member of that cult, including his own father
i can't handle dog death
At the end I just... actually cried at this. I think I understand it all too well.
ive seen enough porn to know where this is going
This is by far the best short story iv heard maybe its my biased for loving cult themed stuff in general i cant believe i skipped over this one for so long. I think the biggest inspiration for this story is jim jones i just get that vibe and i love it
No not bear...😭🐶
This creapypasta is the only one I watched that made me tear up
and prep for the religion war **puts up walls of crosses**
(do not take this seriously please as its just a joke)
MAN THE TOWERS!
PREPARE THE HOLY WATER
COME MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! GET YOUR SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS AND EVOLUTION DOCUMENTARIES
Lol
make sure u dont get blood on ur bread guys it ruins the flavor
I, too, had scientific reasons as to why, but this quite literally made me worry.
It's moments like these when you realize how good a story (and the story teller) are at what they do.
Just curious, what to aethists believe? Do they have a hatred toward aethes?
@Incredible Canemian Atheists are people who don't believe in any religion or "god"
I know that, but the title say "aethist". I want to know what that means.
That's just a misspelling, don't worry about it
Yep, that's the joke.
Oof, welp
Stories like these are the scariest, cause stuff like this (even worse) happens all the time.
oh i guess being an _athiest_ was just a myth, i love being a aethist though.
That's one heck of a story. Thanx
I have had so many emotions through this video mostly anger at the cult and I started tearing when I realised what they where going to do to bear but mostly anger. this is a very emotional story and I liked it but also hate it probably because I'm that attached to my dogs but nevertheless good story
And thus Mr. Pickles was born.
NOT THE DOG JESUS CHRIST WHYYY
