This story was really well written, in my opinion. I like how it established personalities for the different characters, it made them more relateable and makes you actually care about them. Only thing is, I didn't find it scary in the slightest.

I think not finding something scary is fine if you enjoy the story. It's more of a feeling of dread for the characters, rather than yourself.
That is a fairly solid argument(or opinion I guess) but besides the fact that this didn't keep me from sleeping it just didn't feel really together for me. It's weird and I can't really find the words to explain it but it just really didn't feel right and I was thoroughly confused by the end(But the gorilla-creature had me freaked out for a few minutes)

Depends on the age gap. My brother is 8 years older than me and we always took care of each other. He was more a parent than anything but we got along perfectly.
My brother and i were nice to each other and enjoyed each other's company. But no way any sibling in English says "Big brother" - that's, like, an Asian thing or such: "Onii-chan." You can always tell someone who has never had siblings is writing the sibling stories when they do that XD

This is honestly one of the best pastas i've read in awhile. It's so gripping and mysterious, yet also has some great comic relief with all the characters. Some people said it didn't scare them, but I kind of prefer this type of story where it isn't trying too hard to be "scary," but it leaves you extremely unsettled.
Huh, so I guess my experience with my great-grandfather telling me wildly inappropriate stories on his knee when I was a young girl and nobody else was paying attention, is normal-ish?
Let's just say my great-grandfather was in the second wave of the Battle of Normandy and I knew exactly why he flew a POW/MIA flag for 60 years after the Great War.

Haha, this story was pretty funny and scary at the same time! Loved the personalities of the characters giving it a gothic whimsy feel, and that ending was super unexpected. A great balance of horror and comedy.
