why has nobody commented on how insanely good he is at voice acting, he did a very very good job like jesus christ i was with him through all of that. the raw emotion you portrayed, it wasn’t a “storyteller” speaking it was a man named jack. like it was told astoundingly from a first person point of view as if he was telling the story all himself. amazing job i can’t express enough
Omg, I was about to comment on the same thing. When he started to talk about his parents… I felt that 😢 even to the point of sympathizing with his pain. This guy has talent.
I work as a radiologist in the USAF; specifically, I work in the Nondestructive Inspections Laboratory. Hearing .2mR/hr and then 2.0 mR/hr is crazy. That is the exact hourly maximum we can receive during emergency shoots un unshielded environements and in less than a week you would receive the same amount of radiation as a year of 'usual living' (~600mR). 21 mR/hr is absolutely massive. Less than thirty hours to receive an annual dose. 200, 400, 800 mR/hr? I don't think you'd just walk away after a serious exposure to radiation of that dose--and most protective equipment would not be able to handle this manner of dose. Anything prior would be likely Radon, but at that level.. that sounds closer to exposure from a direct source--is this some kind of radiation disposal hidden in a residential neighborhood? That wouldn't explain the cold. If anything, it would be very warm. 1000s, 10000s? Typically 15,000 mR total dose causes a 5% increase in cancer rates, but that is over a long period of time. 200,000 mR is typically a threshold for fatal 'acute' doses. 377,000 mR/hr is just unrealistic. He would not have survived at that dosage for more than thirty, fourty minutes at best. That is almost the average dosage of the Lorad LPX 160 Radioactive Excitation tube at 4.0 mA of energy--which is a direct source of excitation at extreme power levels--used to expose film through several inches of steel, or aluminum. That's just crazy. Kid's boned, and it wouldn't matter if he was covered in any manner of bubble suit. Well, sort of, it depends on the type of radiation--which a simple geiger counter couldn't differentiate. If Alpha radiation, perhaps that would work? If Beta, Gamma, perhaps even Neutron, no. My guess is, he was using a Victoreen survey meter that was actually measuring in μRem (Micro rems) which would make the story much more plausible, even if a peak reading of 377,000 μR/hr (37,700 mR/hr) would likely have given the man fatal doses down the line from complications thereafter. An interesting read, about a creature which is a massive conduit of radiation.
Derp Iculous for creepy pasta standards I guess. They are a laugh and can be enjoyable but good story telling and creepy pasta don't really go together lol
Donald William Jack i would disagree with that, things like “I dared my friend to ruin my life” or “tales from the gas station” exist and are wonderfully written. Hell the gas station guy even wrote a book that takes place in the same universe.
I love this character 😂 "What the hell! It's my house and I'll kill myself with it if I want to!" "The fish have plenty more so don't worry about it" Lmao
This story is beautiful in its slow, quiet, bleak brand of ominous fear. It knows you're scared of it, and doesn't need shock and awe to prove it. No, it takes its time in slowly, carefully building a world that, while it is far richer than a mere scare tactic, is indeed terrifying and leaves the reader feeling small in the face of a threat that, because it is impersonal and does not specifically shock you, feels far bigger and greater than simpler horror monsters. The reader is left feeling hopeless and doomed, eclipsed by a cold darkness that is far harder to cultivate than mere shock at a jumpscare or gross-out. It is uncannily brilliant.
I swear to god I've only heard that part once and no matter how many times I listen to this I cannot find it. Could you time stamp it for me so I can have peace?

**SPOILERS AFTER "READ MORE"** i'm gonna explain the entire story for people who don't understand it, so again after clicking "read more" you'll be exposed to ever spoiler imaginable for this story, you've been warned!! Ok so the guys dad, I'll call the guy anon, when down into the spiral to check things out after anon and his brother pointed the spiral out to him. He walked all the way down the spiral and when he got to the end, the shape shifter choked him with the Christmas lights. this allowed the shape shifter to take on the form of a human and leave in the form of anon's dad. The shape shifter is what gave the mom the intense cancer. Anon decided now that he owns the house that he'll explore it too. he discovers it's a fibonacci spiral (look it up, it's basically a mathematically perfect/flawless shape portion) and in the final room of the spiral (the largest where it is snowing) he finds his dads dead body, left there after the shape shifter choked him so that he could take his form and leave the spiral, where he is trapped. this explains why anon's hands were sticky after investigating the hatch as a kid, because the shape shifter resealed it with some type of glue or epoxy, and it was still fresh. Because we can presume the shape shifter is *extremely* radioactive and was in the spiral for so long, that's why it was so intensely radiated, but anon's dad was preserved because of the sub zero temperatures. to put the temps into perspective, it was colder in the spiral than it ever was in antarctica in the 2017 winter months. anon became extremely ill with radiation after going into the spiral, and when he came out after walking for god knows how long (probably well over a few hours because of the 4 mile marking, and how he very very slowly had to make his way back) he was already well past the point of no return. he decided to go back down into the final spiral quadrant to be with his dad mainly because he knew if he stayed around and seemed help, it would prompt an investigation into the tunnel resulting in the deaths of however many people would've gone down. this also explains why he was so adamant to his brother and his friend to keep out, because he knew what would happened, except he made it out to tell others, unlike his dad. so his "suicide", even though he would've died anyways, was just to preserve his brother and friend so they and no one else wouldn't suffer the same fate as him. so in the end anon was just trying to save as many people as possible, which is why he told his brother he'll never find his body and to do NOT go looking, as well as to immediately sell the house without any investigation into anon's death. hope this explained the story
i don’t think more people would have died though, if the gouvernement would have looked into it, they would not only get the chance to catch a shape shifter, but also investigate the tunnels with definately more advanced equipment or robots for that matter and get to the bottom of the spiral’s origins instead of simply ignoring it
electronics probably wont work down there, and if the robots worked and they brought up the equipment they had down there, the equipment would have been exposed to radiation and it could end up spreading from robots-humans and whatever else it contaminated. Its government btw lol
lil bacon - Thanks for that! I have some questions though, what are your thoughts? • So are we saying that the reason his dad changed, and became mean and such, was because it wasn't really his dad, it was some shape changer? Is that why it didn't remember he was called Scooter? The monster got really mad at them when they played around the door, but that was when they were kids, right? So how old were they (approx) when dad died? I wish he had discussed his dad's age upon seeing him in the cavern. • If so, then why did it get so protective of her after Mom got sick? Why did it stick around and parent the kids? Why did it feel guilty about the mom and want to help her? Why didn't it just take off? • I thought he said his dad died shortly after his mom. Did I miss a part about a missing body or something? I don't get it. If his dad was really the shape shifter, did it fake its death or something? Did they mention not finding a body and I just didn't hear that part? If the shape shifter stuck around to parent the kids for all those years, why would it pretend to die / bail on them after the mom died do you think? • How did he come to the conclusion that it was out there wearing his dad's face? • If he was living with the shape changer, how did the kids not get sick too? Had they already moved out or something? That's a glaring one for me - if he was around for as long as he was, how in the world did the kids not also get sick?? • When do we think the dad actually died? • Can someone explain that part about him calling the old house owner lady, and her remembering the dad coming by? And saying his full name including the last name? What does that signify? • Any ideas about the monster's motives? Thanks!!!

Im normally never scared of these creepypastas but this one gave me chills lol. The first one that actually scared me was ted the caver by The Dark Somnium, it's two hours long tho
This story is one of the scariest I've ever heard. The whole idea that there is this crazy hidden monstrosity that nobody ever knew about for certain, and its almost like a family curse to live in that house. Its also scary because there are some old houses that literally do have mine shafts in them just like this.
It's always so much fun to listen to these stories again after the first time. And to see all the foreshadowing of the plot twist and realize how easy they were to miss.
That is true hell in my opinion, not some burning eternal suffering ruled by a red demon with horns. Just cold and silence so you can reflect on everything to your life and what you've done to what you can never do or fix. Just Darkness Cold and Silence.
Take 5 grams of shrooms and sit in ur room with the lights off, it’s not hell but it’s the “heroic dose” and the “perfect dose” that’ll teach u what’s wrong in ur life and the best part is it’s you coming the Jose realization
The idea of a burning realm ruled by red demons being hell to most Americans is something so perplexing to the Orthodox world. Normies don’t or can’t even begin to understand what Christianity’s actual claims are, so I guess it’s no wonder they continue to believe and say the most intellectually deprived tropes and phrases imaginable.
Listening to this gave me the chills. Your voice is so perfect for narrating Creepypastas. I've been listening to you for years and I just want you to know (if you ever see this comment) that you make my day a bit better. Even though you don't write the stories I can't help but think they would be incomplete without you to narrate them. Thank you so much for all you day, man.
i know this is weird but this guy has the same voice in every video but manages to somehow make it different in a way to fit the character in the story.
ŞØĐΔ well it depends on if the geiger is counting milirems or rads if its milirems its feasable for him to have withstood that much radiation because 300k milirems is arround 300/400 rads its enough to manifest the effects he suffered and kill someone but ir takes some time my estimate he had a week/10 days tops to live at that amount or radiation your body is literally slowly turning into mush and decomposing due to dead cells and the cold also probably helped him Stay Alive longer because it combated some of the effects of the radiation cooking him Alive
It also depends on the Geiger counter he bought. It likely was something either off eBay at Amazon and likely hasn't been calibrated in a while. He wouldn't know how to check these things or, as he stated many times, even know what they mean.
Amazing narration Mr CreepyPasta! Absolutely one of my favourite creepy pastas. Its so good that I felt chills whenever the MC talked about how cold it was. The suspense is freaking brilliant and very thrilling.
What if the shapeshifter was trying to escape but fell in love with the mother, felt bad for poisoning her, and bailed before the truth was revealed???

Here's what I got out of this from listening several times The narrator's dad checked out the tunnel after he and his brother found it. After going in there with Christmas lights and entering the final room, the monster killed him and left him in the tunnel and morphed into his dad. Then, dropped the light segment before climing the ladder up to the attic. He then repremanded the kids for playing around the door. The monster then gave the mom cancer and pretended to have cancer himself so that he could slip away without noticing. When the narrator gets the call from the previous owner, he realized that his Dad called after he died of cancer and gave his full name because it wasn't actually him. Knowing this,he decided to spend his final hours in the tunnel with his real dad in order to protect his family/friend.
well its under ground and my basement is cooler the summer which has something to do with the temperature under ground being the opposite of the the relative temperature above ground but perhaps the last room is so far that like you said it has its own climate.
Patrick Holensaber Some of the best are the longer ones. The "Search and Rescue" series tends to be amazing. "Penpal" is an utter classic that will leave your jaw hanging open by the end. Mind you, the whole series is hours long. I also recommend "Bedtime", though I don't think MrCreepyPasts read it. CreepypastaJr did though. "Bedtime" is a series, but the first is really all you need. It's self contained.
The Ladder is the 4th entrance of The Tomb of Horrors. At the bottom if you move the toilet by turning it counterclockwise it will slide revealing a crawlspace just big enough for a person to squeeze through. Once you wiggle your way through you will come up into what looks like a box but if you feel around you will find a latch. Once opened you will come out of a bench in the back of what appears to be a Chapel. You are now in the Chapel of Evil. Be careful about messing with the other benches as they hold gas traps.
These creepypasta protagonists really do have deathwishes to be so adamant about exploring something they know to be so dangerous, creepy, and familiar all at the same time.
If you're wondering what MR stands for it's the measurement of energy released by gamma or X-Ray energy. The higher the reading is the worse it is for your body. But since he had been down there multiple times it was no reason for him to be concerned. It was too late for him.
This made me sad but i do question if the shapeshifter wanted out and couldnt get out when the previous owner owned the house why did they take care of it? Why didnt they just pour cement down the hole that they trapped it in. :/ did they feed it does it need to eat? I'm just confused wish they made a story about the previous owners and why they did this.

You are the best like narrator I have ever heard, you just sound so comfortable talking and I could listen to you for hours
You should listen to The Dark Somnium his narrations are great and if you like long stories he has quite a few
“You have to literally crawl to get to it”
That are called a crawl space

As opposed to figuratively crawling.

This is the only creepypasta that has actually ever scared me, good on ya. Love the videos
Im normally never scared of these creepypastas but this one gave me chills lol. The first one that actually scared me was ted the caver by The Dark Somnium, it's two hours long tho
Normal you tuber : Ima make a ten minute vid and put four ads in it. MrCreepyPasta: Let's make an hour long vid with 3 ads.
This story is one of the scariest I've ever heard. The whole idea that there is this crazy hidden monstrosity that nobody ever knew about for certain, and its almost like a family curse to live in that house. Its also scary because there are some old houses that literally do have mine shafts in them just like this.
Dudes friend progressively gets "bigger" down the tunnel lmao
This left me with a legitimate sense of dread for like two days after listening to it. I have no idea why.
I think the music has a big part to it
Same
It's always so much fun to listen to these stories again after the first time. And to see all the foreshadowing of the plot twist and realize how easy they were to miss.
This is the first story i've found in a literal year that made me feel unsettled.
Love his voice, the acting is perfect, the added umms and whatever’s sound so natural, so real! Really drew me in.
I love how you read these - they make the story so much realer
this makes me wanna buy my childhood home... there’s a door in the attic...

*I LOVE THE LONG/ WHOLE SERIES STORIES. THEY HELP ME SLEEP*
That is true hell in my opinion, not some burning eternal suffering ruled by a red demon with horns. Just cold and silence so you can reflect on everything to your life and what you've done to what you can never do or fix. Just Darkness Cold and Silence.
I think it’s just Shrek 3 Playing for eternity
@@jacobwein2288 bruh that's heaven
Take 5 grams of shrooms and sit in ur room with the lights off, it’s not hell but it’s the “heroic dose” and the “perfect dose” that’ll teach u what’s wrong in ur life and the best part is it’s you coming the Jose realization
*laughs in Finnish*
The idea of a burning realm ruled by red demons being hell to most Americans is something so perplexing to the Orthodox world. Normies don’t or can’t even begin to understand what Christianity’s actual claims are, so I guess it’s no wonder they continue to believe and say the most intellectually deprived tropes and phrases imaginable.
I listen to this channel every day on my way back home from school, its so addictive and his narration is amazing!
This is the earliest ive been to his videos...proud of myself
Listening to this gave me the chills. Your voice is so perfect for narrating Creepypastas. I've been listening to you for years and I just want you to know (if you ever see this comment) that you make my day a bit better. Even though you don't write the stories I can't help but think they would be incomplete without you to narrate them. Thank you so much for all you day, man.
i know this is weird but this guy has the same voice in every video but manages to somehow make it different in a way to fit the character in the story.
How the hell did that guy withstand those amounts of radiation for as long as he did holy crap--
ŞØĐΔ well it depends on if the geiger is counting milirems or rads if its milirems its feasable for him to have withstood that much radiation because 300k milirems is arround 300/400 rads its enough to manifest the effects he suffered and kill someone but ir takes some time my estimate he had a week/10 days tops to live at that amount or radiation your body is literally slowly turning into mush and decomposing due to dead cells and the cold also probably helped him Stay Alive longer because it combated some of the effects of the radiation cooking him Alive
I'll tell u how, it's fake yes Virginia there is no santa claus!
HellO SpaghettiO there was no “radiation” per say
It also depends on the Geiger counter he bought. It likely was something either off eBay at Amazon and likely hasn't been calibrated in a while. He wouldn't know how to check these things or, as he stated many times, even know what they mean.
@@modus3493 it's per se, fyi
Amazing narration Mr CreepyPasta!
Absolutely one of my favourite creepy pastas. Its so good that I felt chills whenever the MC talked about how cold it was. The suspense is freaking brilliant and very thrilling.
I'm definitely not here at this definite time

I really wish there was an in depth story of the first family that lived there and the shapeshifter
I cried when he said he was going to stay with his dad. Go down there so he wasn’t alone, I love my dad so much and I think I would do the same.
The house was probably built on top of the structure and the tunnel in the attic was made by the original builders of the house
A lot more classy then your normal type of horror on the internet, I like it.
What if the shapeshifter was trying to escape but fell in love with the mother, felt bad for poisoning her, and bailed before the truth was revealed???

Pablo Escobar jesus christ your profile pic XD

Wow. This story was really great including your narration. Thanks so much.
lol I love how much character was in the narration. Nice change from the deep ominous narrator of most creepypasta storytelling on youtube
Yes I was hoping you would do this!!! And it was an honor to meet you in real life you are truly a funny and an amazingly talented guy!!!

there's no way he would've lived past 1,000 rads. he would've died way before then from hypothermia if not the radiation.

I'm gonna bet before I finish this, the dad never came back from the hole. It was his spoopy clone.
The clues that were left through out the story did make it pretty obvious, didn't they?
Close enough. Lol.
How would one know that there is a monster before told in this story. What clues?
I guess the unexplained radiation levels or the sudden mood swing of the father

GOD THIS STORY WAS SO GOOD! And the way you read it was seriously MASTERFUL. I'm hyped because it was so good, I always get hyped after a really good story. I have a questions though, PLEASE someone smarter than me answer ASAP:
Thanks all!
Here's what I got out of this from listening several times
The narrator's dad checked out the tunnel after he and his brother found it.
Being interested in old houses these types of stories are my favorite
couldn't it be an abandoned uranium mine?😅
possibly, but nice theory anyway although it still doesn't explain the shape shifting monster or under ground snow lol
Im not saying this is alien
hmm , i've heared that if a place is big enough it could have its own climate , but it has to be really huge.
well its under ground and my basement is cooler the summer which has something to do with the temperature under ground being the opposite of the the relative temperature above ground but perhaps the last room is so far that like you said it has its own climate.
That still wouldn't explain the strangle marks on his dad's neck.
I'm a fan of creepypastas but I usually listen to the >15 minute ones, this is the first longer one I've listened to. God, was it worth it.
Creepy-a door stuck shut
Me:CORALINE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!???
Coming back to this one is so nostalgic man
My little brother's name is also Ryan, so when he's apologizing to his brother at the end, I got freaked out for a second.
The Ladder is the 4th entrance of The Tomb of Horrors. At the bottom if you move the toilet by turning it counterclockwise it will slide revealing a crawlspace
just big enough for a person to squeeze through. Once you wiggle your way through you will come up into what looks like a box but if you feel around
you will find a latch.
