Wasnt aware of the release! Thanks to the HarbourMasters and to you for sharing this awesome christmas gift. I'll try it with reshade depth3D in VR. Happy hollidays!
I've played it yesterday, it plays great. There's a few issues with LODs that are also visible in your video that hopefully get fixed. There were also some oddities with some of the talking animations for ROB in later stages, but otherwise it's great. A mod to disable cockpit view would be nice as it's too easy to trigger (remapping also would work, I suppose).
Cool comparison. Quick note. Not sure if you knew this already but you can press the F1 key on your keyboard to show/hide the menu on the top of the screen
I played all 3 versions on hard route (so basically N64 / 3DS and PC Port) and my god the higher frame rate changes soooo much! I still love the original N64 game but having this game on such a good frame rate just feels good! And the 3ds game is also quite good but sometimes the new textures / models of enemies and planet confuse me XD Other than that I think I’m going to have lots of fun hunting the best high scores and unlocking expert mode again!! 😎 (If someone from the DEV Team ever reads this, YOU GUYS ARE GOATED)
Nice! One of my favorite games as a kid. I just recently replayed it and got all the medals on the NSO version. This looks smooth as hell and is probably even a touch trickier at parts due to the faster run rate.
All stages seem to work fine. VS Mode was 100% broke (crashed the game) in the November showoff video and looks to be disabled in the current build so there is still work to be done.
@@desmaku87 Thank you! Now I'm having another issue - every time I press up on the analog stick it puts me into the cockpit view, then pressing down on the analog stick puts me into regular view, which I'd like to stay in. Can you tell me where my control settings are messed up and how can I fix them? They look normal to me, and are the default, but of course something is messed up. Thanks if you can help!
To be honest I thought you were thing to point out that the N64 looks better while the PC verision runs at a higher framrate and format. That's my take on it.
N64 only ran Starfox at 30FPS? Awh man, I was a baby at the time, I only played these games in emulator later on when I was older at 60fps. Pretty crazy how much better these retro games look and feel with simple tweaks. I have good memories as a teen playing Starfox 64 in an emulator, controls really work well with a mouse for movement/aiming. I may need to check out these PC ports. ^^ Edit: Apparently it was never at 60 but up to 30. Crazy, the number in the corner lied to me. ;_;
@@lennymota4973 From what I've seen here, It definitely looked it at times. 😭 Never owning a N64 and then seeing how not-strong it is in hindsight is a weird position to be in. It was novel at the time I guess.😁
lol and youre obviously wrong. i have an actual n64. the emulators i use have settings that would upscale the image and make it look way different. dont care if you dont believe me.

PC unquestionably! Looks so smooth. Can't to try it.
amazing work to the team that worked on this recompilation!
hoping Sin & Punishment gets a PC Port at some point
Its a Day and night situation. On the LEFT you have the DAY, on the right you have the NIGHT. Awesome !
A higher framerate makes a big difference in a game like this.
This looks amazing. Thanks for the link. Will download and try it out. This game is in my top 3 n64 games to play
Need to download this as soon as I get home, probably not going to be long for this world

yup the F1 key does hide the menu. i learned of that last night.
@desmaku87 lol. I remember finding out how to hide the menu I accidentally pulled up for the first time in Ship of Harkinian

I was never interested in playing Stafox because of the low FPS, now I will be able to play
thank you for the video, i might try to download it now...
60 fps PC ?
Yup
even 240 fps if you want
Yes

Holy crap what a difference. Really dig the side by side
Just got it set up just haven't had a chance to get a full run in yet.. so sick this is out now
fantastic work. How come the aiming reticle is so jumpy. It's very jumpy compared
The PC version is what I felt it looked like as a kid. 😅
it's done? i thought it was still in beta (some stages were not working like Titania)

holy shit, cant believe this is real. 60 fps starfox 64 looks fucking awesome
IMAGINENSE EN PC PORT DE MARIO KART 64, EL ONLINE SERIA UNA LOCURA
Its like if star fox had an arcade release
Sorry - can someone tell me what key do I press to hide the menu bar at the top of the screen?

it would be great to have a mod with the 3ds assets
This game is the 3D U.N Squadron. Love both games
pc is buttery smooth
It stresses me out to see others play this game hahaha

im pretty sure it ran slower than 30fps on n64

On N64, the game runs UP TO 30 fps. On an emulator, it can run at a stable 30 fps, which may give you the impression of 60 fps.
@@MetalJody1990 Oh no sad.
Widescreen ? 😮😮😮😮😮😮
ultra widescreen too
What's the point on this port???
its better than playing on a n64
Because it's better than emulation and can be improved upon.
