Sami Rahman I hope they get a melee system that doesn't just trigger an animation. Or perhaps the players maintain control when the character goes into 3rd person during a "takedown mode" or something to that effect.
Sami Rahman There's also a "Resist" or "Collaborate" system. Where you can assist in the capture of Augmented people or rise against the abuse they go through.
Kilo Ton That's the point I made a couple of days ago but I guess they deleted my comment. I'm guessing that they'll say something happened before Adam pressed any of the buttons.
+Thatdeal79 there will be a somewhat different mechanic involved with battery charge. your battery will regenerate to an extent. i'm not sure if that means it'll charge back up completely on its own or if it'll only charge to a certain point then stop or what. the candy bars will still be in play though haha
The art style of this game is just perfect. That city at 0:33. I really hope we can go there this time. The Human Revolution Trailer was just as promising and the games skyboxed were stunning, but it was all just a picture and not a playable area.
I can still remember just like yesterday, though it was many moons ago, firing up the first Deus Ex on PC. I was hooked. Then "Invisible Wars." What a piece of crap. "Human Revolution" comes along to vindicate and restore dignity to an amazing IP. I am genuinely enthusiastic about this one so far. Looks great and the story is actually looking quite philosophically relevant to current social climate. Smart, relevant story with hopefully great gameplay and what I'm sure will be some rather impressive visuals. It is a shame that more people don't have the mental acuity/capacity/discipline, to take the time to digest or seriously consider these kind of stories/machinations/possibilities. I do so hope this one is a bit lengthier that Human Revolution though. It would be like all the stars in all the heavens aligned perfectly if this were to last me until the release of Cyberpunk 2077! A man can dream right?
I never played the original Deus Ex game, but my favorite part about DE:HR was that the concept of this amazing technology was applied towards internal and societal conflicts that represented discrimination, fear, and conspiracy that are considered in our own modern world. "Cyber Renaissance" is the phrase coined by the designers towards the art and advancements. What I liked about HR is that it was on a grand scale, yet still managed to turn focus on all individuals within this fictional universe. Adam Jensen (who in my mind is Keanu Reeves haha) is a little flat on depth, but I particularly enjoy the emphasis he made on the pain that this constant war causes on innocent people. It's refreshing to see a depiction of war hybridized with urban and civilian conflict, and to see the main character recognize the extreme importance of that.
- 0:11 Adam Jensen is a dick to random pedestrians. - 1:13 The soldiers in the first fight clearly haven't heard of kiting or strafing. Runs straight at him while firing gun. Maybe so they actually land a shot? - 1:18 Sleeves that go up or down automatically. no more wet cuffs from hand-washing! - 1:34 Best new augment: arms now also act as universal remote. I shall go around the game turning off TVs. - 1:39 Bad Guy has foreign accent cliche. - 1:48 Taser needs four leads, because two is never enough. - 2:27 This guy is clearly firing blanks. - 2:28 Grunts have storm trooper aiming skills. - 2:33 Director for 300 clearly directed this trailer. slo-mo for days. - 3:04 Shield ends at head, wouldn't it be better to shield a person starting from the most important part? - 3:18 Is that angel imagery I'm seeing with the wings of light? This is what happens when I procrastinate studying for exams.
LeonKScott I saw the trailers and gameplays videos for that, which is why I made my original comment. Human Revolution: the game didn't look anywhere near as cool as the trailers.
Shade Draws True. Hopefully the gameplay will be interesting and fun as Human Revolution. We are going to be experiencing this on a new console so hopefully they will be able to convey trailer awesomeness into actual gameplay awesomeness. They should have no excuse now.
Does anyone else notice at 3:13..??? Just after he says.. "I Wont let it happen again..!" The light reflected in the water, make look like JENSEN HAD WINGS..!!!! just at 3:16.. Subtle touch.. Maybe a homenage to the trailer of Human Revolution.. Where he had wings as well..
It would be interesting if that occurs, considering that David Sarif made it a point to reject any and all Illuminati influence in Human Revolution (to the point of telling Taggart and Zhao off in a meeting during the comic series).
Deus ex cinematic are always outstanding this trailer suggests there a lot further on in the development cycle than people think but a bit surprised they announced it this close to e3
Why it might be bad: 1. Apparently none of the endings in the first game were canon. Which is TERRIBAD. 2. Apparently there won't be any gray options in the morality of the story. Ie, Stormcloaks VS Imperials.
1. Correction, it appears the 'destroy the base' ending was canon, hence why Adam is seen face-down in the middle of the ocean. We don't have all the details though, so they might have pulled an Invisible War. 2. This is as morally grey as it can get. Un-augmented people are rounding up augmented people like cattle and tossing them in pens, and augmented people are resisting with terrorist attacks, which kill innocent civilians. Both sides have legitimate reasons for what they do, and both are morally conflicted.
sainsburyshopper You don't get it. First off, I hope what you're saying about the "blow up" ending is correct. We'll see. But the thing about the moral..it's a fucking binary choice. "Imperials vs Stormcloaks". Both suck balls, both have their points, but you have no choice but to choose one regardless of what you think. This was not the case in the first game, as you may recall, which is one of the reasons there actually were multiple endings.
sainsburyshopper OK I can see how you could misunderstand me. Well we'll see. I loved the game, I love the theme, I love the setting, I love the social commentary...I really want to love this game. But we'll see what happens.
Deus ex Human Revolution was the best game I've ever played on last gen. I'm in love with cyberpunk and stealth games. I think that the detailed and semi-open worlds littered with awesome secrets like the ones in the Deus Ex saga are the best environments a game could have. I get a massive stiffy over games that aren't afraid to dabble in philosophy and intelligent storylines. I'm not hyped. What I'm feeling now goes far, FAR beyond hyped.

wait, i think i get the joke.... EVERY FUCKING PERSON IN THIS FUCKNG GAME IS A SHITARD! (except you... if you want) not saying the game is bad, i really liked the last game.
Gonças Rodrigues No, it's more of a dumb pun joke that'd get stuck in my head, thanks to all of the videos announcing the new Deus Ex that'd appear everywhere. Had to get it out of my system, you know? (I don't actually hate Deus Ex or anything)
Just... Pure bliss... I`m expecting this more than I did for GTA V or Witcher 3... Just loved to play and replay the Deus X series, this won`t be any different!
The trailer is cool and all but it's the gameplay that I'm interested in. I loved the multiple ways Adam was able to progress through objectives and villains. I hope the new game has that capability. I loved the side missions and the illuminati-esque storyline. I hope we can explore more cities and see how "Augs" and "Anti-Augs" react in the universe. I know this will be an awesome game and multiple play throughs are expected.
CGI will awesome, the game will be delayed and then final release will enter the list of over hyped next gen triple A title that failed. just wait and see!!
I never expect a sequel of this game, I hope that the history is going to be better that in Human Revolution, even I read the novel Deus Ex: Icarus Effect. Adam Jensen is back and more badass (without Megan this time) and ready to kick asses. I am sure that the Michael McCann soundtrack is going to be equal superb like the last time, In my opinion one of the best videogame OST ever.
So from what he says and what you can see, it takes place after the ending that you try to cover up the entire incident at the last mission, basically killing everyone in the place and that included Adam as well (water floating scene). Since they are all dead, both augmented and human activists, Adam is now considered rogue and doing what he has to to save the world, even killing when in Human Revolution, it is a mark on your mentality.. Just a theory from the trailer.
I am so hard right now... The beauty of that dark dystopian cityscape. The animation was awesome. That trailer was beautiful! I love deus ex. Can't wait for it to come out.
This looks so good, I loved Human Revolution so much! My only hope is that they fix how experience is distributed. I understand that non-lethal take downs gave more XP because they were supposed to be more difficult to pull off, but it kind makes other playstyles feel less viable. Like the game is punishing you or something. I also don't understand why lethal takedowns are "loud". Almost all of them revolve around the use of his blade arms. I'd get it if the enemies screamed, but they never do. Also how is it that stabbing someone is louder than some of the none lethal ones where you punch the shit out of them and then flip them over? Either way, this game looks fucking sweet.
This looks totally bonkers! I loved the Human revolution to death so I can certainly get behind this. I wonder which one of the HR endings is considered canon hard to tell from this trailer
So I want to get into the Deus Ex games but I haven't played any. Do I have to start from the beginning or cam I start with a more recent title so understand what's going on?
Eck True , after they fixed day one issues with the game . couldn't even launch the game on my rig , when i did , crashes every 10 to 15 minutes , i just gave up .
While I have both a Ps4 and Xboxone I hope this game comes to Wiiu or Nintendos next console. I loved playing human revolution on the gamepad. Probably a small chance but I'm glad this sequel is coming either way can't wait!
Well looks like we know the canon ending... Also, I don't care what people thought about Human revolution, I enjoyed that game. So who knows, I might love this one too.
Any other old fans hype at the sound of Paris and Hong Kong? Considering this is a prequel... I hope they make them similar to the original.. Only one thing... please don't mess it up like Invisible War.

Sami Rahman I hope they get a melee system that doesn't just trigger an animation. Or perhaps the players maintain control when the character goes into 3rd person during a "takedown mode" or something to that effect.
Osmium yeah, maybe they added quick time events to takedowns. we will see
yes, this game is going to be awesome. A next gen deus ex game, damn can't wait to see a gameplay trailer.
Sami Rahman There's also a "Resist" or "Collaborate" system. Where you can assist in the capture of Augmented people or rise against the abuse they go through.

NIELS MICHIELS Gotta wonder if Ben Saxon will return. If so, then that's awesome.
I'm glad Jensen is back. I hope he has a higher battery charge this time around.
***** I didn't understand why he needed to user battery to punch people. His other powers I understood but not a punch. lol
would of preferred a new char
with the ending of deus ex hr it just does not seem like he survived
frep you there are like 2 endings (free aug research and restriction of augs) in which he could and should have survived

Jkjkjk! xD
maybe those who thought this video showed of the whole story :*
So clever the way they put wings on him many times in the video, just awesome.
i was starting to think i was the only one who noticed it!
I think it's a reference to icarus* the opening scene of human revolution showed icarus 's wings burning as he flew too close to the sun
Symbolism 101, not very subtle.
Shanic Yeah, i love how they have an eye for small details in final design-
Shanic I think its now supposed to symbolize something angelic.
Hell yes
Is it a worthy sequel?
Flyingfish looks like it
Good to have you back Adam.
Elias Toufexis You definitely asked for this aren't you Mr. Jensen
For everybody here who didn't know who he is. He's a voice actor for Adam Jensen. MY HYPE IS AUGMENTED!

The game really fails to live up to the hype. Not saying it's bad but it's nothing at all like the trailer.

Really good for an announcement trailer, now just to wait for actual ingame footage.
Why it might be bad:
1. Apparently none of the endings in the first game were canon. Which is TERRIBAD.
2. Apparently there won't be any gray options in the morality of the story. Ie, Stormcloaks VS Imperials.
The canon endings of the first game were already explained when Invisible War came out, why does it need to be addressed here?
1. Correction, it appears the 'destroy the base' ending was canon, hence why Adam is seen face-down in the middle of the ocean. We don't have all the details though, so they might have pulled an Invisible War.
2. This is as morally grey as it can get. Not one ending alone is canon so say the developers.
My guess is they are going the Invisible War route and merging some or all the endings.
2:03 is it paul denton from the first?
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! MASSIVE Deus Ex fan, LOVE this.
