I so wish I had someone to teach me in person to do this! It’s such a daunting idea doing it for the first time as a newbie! You should do in person workshops! I’d totally sign up
Some modern (and expensive) drills have built in sensors that kill the power when they sense the drill jamming and twisting in your hands. Maybe not something that is worth buying for one job, but it may be possible to hire one from a tool hire place is you ask them if they supply them.
Love these vids, I’m converting my van and going along with you. Bit scary cutting into the van. But can’t wait to give it a go. Thanks for this series. Perfect for beginners ❤
Great video as always. Not sure you mentioned it but if you're doing the bonding with a normal manual caulk gun get the bond as warm/ hot as possible. Absolute bugger to squeeze it out well otherwise. 👍
Have you thought about a book with illustrations/photos? I would definitely buy this. You explain everything so clearly. Thank you for taking the time to post these videos. I have no experience at van conversion and not a practical person but I am going to give this a go, aided by your videos. Wish me,luck. I retire in 7 months and will have a budget of £60k for a van and the materials. I hope this is realistic. 👍
Thank you for watching them!! I’m so glad they are of help, and yes we are considering making this series into a book for sure. You will find £60k will be adequate budget for a conversion, depending on the cost of base vehicle. Leigh
Well done Dominika. I have not done one yet but you have inspired me. Always scary to put a hole in a nice shiny van. Proud of you. Great video to you both. ! Do you do the windows like that for a Crafter too?
Thank you very much for your kind words. We have certainly enjoyed the process together. Take a look at the Camper Glass website for available Crafter glass :)
Superb work guys, absolutely love this video! So helpful and so many tips - still scary making that first cut though! I'm thinking of fitting rear quarter glass to my T6 kombi - any tips for fitting windows to a van that already has the side windows fitted? What about carpetting, I could have sworn you fitted the carpet before the U-channel on a previous video? Keep up the great work!!
Just fit one of these from camperglass , not happy with the fit....the shape ( arc ) of it isn't the exact arc of the van panel. Larger gap at top & bottom than the middle looking at the rear of glass !! Not impressed at all in the fit. I think the problem is the larger opener , compared with the smaller sliding windows is flatter.
Atmosphere is professional and to be honest, we’ve both had a lot of fun doing this together. Domi is a very quick learner and we’ve been married long enough to know how to ‘teach’ each other without problems. It’s been a really fun journey!
Now that's a comprehensive fitting guide right there! Those new style safari and slider are quality.
Loving this build 🤙
Much appreciated!
Fantastic video and the whole series. It will help so many people. Huge respect for sharing your knowledge with others.

A very very comprehensive video, great format guiding someone new to the tools, materials and methods. Great for newbies !
Thanks both for this amazing series of instructional videos. I am learning soooo much! Really good 👍

Brilliant guide, I felt her nerves as this is how I felt when using power tools for the first time! Must be scary cutting the huge hole too
Absolutely! Domi has vowed never use a hole saw again!

Been following the build but somehow missed this one. Glad to have found it today. What’s happening with the 2KT5??
It will make its return with a bang very soon! It has had quite the journey since you’ve last seen it!
what grit sanding disc's do you normally use for the angle grinder to smooth off the rough edges? I've got 80 grit - is that too fine?

Carpet can be redone, or cut carefully to prove a neat finish when the window is finished :)
Excellent video again really liking the build videos fair play to your wife I hate hole saws I always get a kicking from them lol
She’s done a fantastic job :)
Hi Guys, loving these windows. What make and model electric caulking gun are you using please?
Its a Milwaukee M12 caulk gun M12PCG/310C-201B

What size hole saw please ?
I believe we used a 60mm here but you can use any size that fits the corner profile of the window frame :)
I like the format BUT what's the atmosphere after filming !!!! BOSSING THE WIFE ABOUT DOESN'T GO TOGETHER WITH A HAPPY LIFE !!!!!😂😂😂😂
? I don’t think he was bossing her about. She’s not done this before and he’s helping her. That involves telling her what to do ! 😂
Thought he was very patient to be honest.
