    Good battle, shame on the unlucky dice rolls. Was enjoyable to watch and the showmanship between both players was fair and honest. Looking forward to watching more videos.

    I was rooting for the French all the way but it was a good game to watch. Defiantly think the german armored car should have swung around and flanked more, but hindsight is 20/20. Great battle report when with dismal shooting :)

    Awesome videos guys....I enjoy watching all of them.
    Sven, you get a -1 for not painting your own figures!
    and, a -1 for being too particular/anal about the EXACT angle you place your tanks. (its just a friendly game)...
    However, you get a +2 for the shear size of your collection, and love of the game.
    So, you still get a 100%....LOL
    Again, nice battles, and I look forward to all of your new battles to come.

    I don't know why I have not discovered your channel before, but there it is! As this is my first viewing of your material, I have found it, interesting, entertaining and very informative, not only regarding historical insight of the period, but of the actual Bolt Action rules. So, please give yourself a large pat on the back for your much appreciated hard work in sharing part of your gaming life and hobby. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I particularly like the methodical approach you use, it ticks all my boxes of interest! As I mentioned in opening, having not seen your footage before, I have now rectified this by subscribing to your channel. I look forward to many more hours of 'catching up' viewing with keen interest. Thank you again and Well Done! I will not be giving you a '-1' for not painting your own miniatures, but a BIG +1, as I realise how time consuming it is to put out content like this and if you have the finances which enable you to enjoy the playing part of our hobby, then power to you' I say! TTFN, an new avid follower 😉

    You'll find this funny Svein (I'm so sorry if I spelled that wrong)
    This reminds me exactly of the first tank war game my buddy and I played. 1500 pts German vs. American. Nothing in the game died until turn 4 ( and tank wise he had 3 Sherman 75mm and 1 Sherman 76, and I had a Panzer IV H, a Tiger and a StuG III with loads of support infantry on both sides) when my Grenadiers got ticked off, leapt out of their transport and killed a Sherman at point blank range with panzerfausts.
    Literally, my Tiger fired 6 shots at the same Sherman (the 76, which also kept firing back). Missed the first 4 times, hit the 5th and rolled a 1 to penetrate, then finally killed it on the 6th turn. Funny games like this where very little dies and the armies seem to just angrily stare at each other can be hilarious.

    Another gripping Bolt Action battle, thanks guys! Have you considered uploading a version which is broken up into shorter parts, as well as the full length one? I can never watch the whole thing in one sitting, with young kids and all.

    • @Tabletopbattle
      @Tabletopbattle  9 лет назад +1

      Well, that is absolutely an option I'll look into. However, With a full time job and kid on the side there isn't really much time leftover to do all the editing and converting so I end up doing the Whole video in one go, and then it converts during the night.

    The 75mm howitzer was considered to be a light howitzer during ww2. And i believe the French book also classes it as a light.
    The medium howitzer would be the 105mm.

  • @Ironmillos

    I wonder if sometimes is better to move a tank to go around the other, and get a -1 to hit but get + X to penetrate. Whats the difference between the front and rear/side armor? Would it be worth it?

    • @Tabletopbattle
      @Tabletopbattle  9 лет назад

      Sidearmor gives you an additional +1 on the penetration, and rear +2.
      Definitely worth it if you have hopes of destroying the tank (unless it has the armored all around rule).
      However, doing this puts you in a position to be hit in the side/rear yourself...
      The most important aspect of Bolt Action is the pinning mechanism so I would
      try to shoot from were i was since if you hit you'll at least put a pin on it, even if you
      dont destroy it..

  • @eLdritchZ
    @eLdritchZ 9 лет назад +1

    I can't help myself I have to be a neckbeard ._.
    Those Panzer IIIs are the wrong models for the France campaign during which the germans only had Panzer III A through F which all come with either the rubbish 37mm tank gun or the short 50mm.
    The models are Panzer III J/Ls with the long 50 mm L60 anti tank gun and they came into service around 1942 to counter the T34.
    right.... sorry about that... I'm ashamed, I promise xD

    • @Tabletopbattle
      @Tabletopbattle  9 лет назад

      You are absolutely right, these are PzIII J for use at Kursk.
      Since we are filming from 1939 to 1945 (and almost all theatres) it would be to expensive to have all the models for all the years, especially for Germany...
      So from time to time you will see the wrong model, but this is not because of our lack of knowledge, rather lack of funds;)
      But I am very happy that there are knowledgeable people like you that comment on our videos, makes us all both better players and we learn more :)

  • @Zlael
    @Zlael 9 лет назад +1

    Nice gameplay. Some commands made by the French player are questionable, i.e. Why don't you advance your veteran squad into the building in your 2nd attempt to shoot the spotter? Why did you move your smaller tank to take on the larger and stronger german tank when there is a Panzer III where you can shoot at his back?
    Nice laser-cut models. They can give the smell of burnt wood which adds more realism into gameplay :D
    Have been wondering is it possible to incorporate this game style into W40K though....

    • @Tabletopbattle
      @Tabletopbattle  9 лет назад

      I count myself as an average gamer so i do make mistakes, from time to time ;)
      I honestly can not say why i did those actions as they were filmed some months ago, sorry.
      Maybe it was just what my mind came up with at the time.
      I think the dice out of the bag would lend itself very well to any tactical wargame as it removes a lot
      of predictability.

    • @Zlael
      @Zlael 9 лет назад

      I am thinking of implementing the decision die on W40K to determine the order of turns within a game turn. Would it be possible for you guys to test this idea on W40K and maybe post the battle report?
      Start with both army not deployed on the battlefield but do the deployment setup as per normal, i.e. hammer+anvil or any of the others. Then draw dice to see order of turn.
