  • Is the Tineco iFloor the answer to all of your floor-cleaning prayers? Decide for yourself after you watch this thorough review of the Tineco iFloor. I tested it out on 4 different surfaces to see what this compact little floor washer could do. In the end, I have to say I was impressed with some aspects of the Tineco iFloor and underwhelmed by others. It may not be the right floor cleaner for everyone but for the price it may well, be worth keeping one around the house to quickly and thoroughly clean up spills, even if you already have another, larger, floor cleaner.

    Very thorough review. I agree that battery power is convenient, but especially in devices relying on motors, never as powerful. You also did a great job of pointing out other downsides to battery powered devices.

      It would be nice if the batteries were removable like they are with power tools

    I have had one for a few years. Your review is 100% correct. Perfect for the 800-900 sq ft first floor if you want convenience of battery (ie we have both corded and cordless Miele vacs and it’s convenience vs power). If you’re a person that has hard floor you clean with swiffer mop heads or old fashioned sponge mop, this Tineco was a great upgrade without the bulk of the Hoover. Also my battery life is starting to decrease, so I’m now looking into battery replacement sooner than later which is neither cheap nor easy to do. But over the life (and continued life) it’s served us well. Thanks for a thorough and fair review!

    With regard to your mat cleaning attempts - especially the 2nd one. That's not dirt. That's either discoloration, wearing off of the color coating or rubbing off of the bottoms of your flip-flops (and similar) shoes which is essentially black tire-like material. So I wouldn't expect it to lift that off at all. That said, I didn't see much cleaning done by the Tineco on any surface. In addition, the amount of water was minuscule when it comes to cleaning. I have a Bissell carpet spot cleaner that I've had for decades. It will deposit and suck up about a half gallon in just 10 minutes or so. Don't see how these are expected to clean without first using a lot of water.

      The Tineco isn't going to do a restorative cleaning on any surface. It will pick up surface dirt/dust and there was a noticeable difference on the VCT but I wouldn't try to deep clean anything with it. Since making the video all I've used it for is cleaning up spills in the kitchen and it's really been convenient for that. I don't know that I would buy one just to have on hand for when spills happen but like any tool, once it's in your toolbox you'll find a use for it. Whether that's the intended use for this thing or not...I don't know.

    I would always choose cordless over corded, power aside. Laptops and tablets outsell desktops for this reason.

    Oh my goodness! Thank you SO very much for taking the time to make this video. I bought this based off of other RUclipsrs recommendations but I didn't really know how to use it.
    It has been sitting in the corner since September 2022.
    This video was so thorough and informative as the directions do lack a little (like you pointed out the max water button). I was not sure of the self clean either. You made it make sense.
    My only question is when charging, should there be water/solution in the CWT?
    Again, many thanks for this video!

      You’re so welcome! I don’t think it makes any difference if there’s water in the clean water tank while charging. But I have found out since making the video that you need to clean out the waste tank after each use. And I don’t mean dump it out and rinse it, I mean CLEAN it. It gets super smelly if the waste tank isn’t clean and it sits for a while. Then, the next time you use it, it stinks up the whole room.

    Is it safe for laminate flooring? Not using the max flow water button. Our tiling experts in our community say 'No." However your product says yes. Has anyone had flooring problems because of this product, like laminate flooring that becomes damaged because of using this product? Thanks!

    someone told me to use a carpet cleaner on my tile kitchen floor, because it scrubs, has heat and sucks up. what do you think?

    • @michaellohner2349
      @michaellohner2349 6 месяцев назад

      Very few carpet cleaners are suitable for hard floors because there is no gap or squeegee between the nozzle and the floor. They may scratch and won't eat larger debris. Carpet cleaners are usually heavier and awkward in tight spaces like around the toilet. There is at least one machine from bissell with a dedicated hardfloor nozzle which is sold as the hydrowave in europe an the jetscrub in australia, though the hard floor part is not always included in the box and was unavailable in the uk. A carpet cleaner and the now discontinued floormates can soak the floor and pick up the dirt in a second pass, which may be a gamechanger for heavy stains while all the crosswave type devices are just a moist mop. The iFloor and the crosswave on the other hand can vacuum eg breadcrumbs at the same time which the older floormate can't.

      If you work the process from start to finish there's no reason you couldn't get the same results with one of these consumer machines that a pro would get with a truckmount. Extractors like the Crooswave and Floormate don't have heat and they don't scrub very well so you'll have to compensate for where they fall short in other ways like manual scrubbing, chemical dwell time, etc. and it will take longer but I think it can be done.

    • @Yahya-X
      @Yahya-X Год назад

      @@HowToCleanLikeAPro That’s great to know that a cheap machine can somewhat still achieve the results of a super expensive machine. Makes it seem worth it in the end.

    @HowToCleanLikeAPro i would love to see you work with a company to design a household cleaning extractor for daily / weekly / monthly cleaning, utilising your time served experience & expertise of commercial cleaning extractors and massively improving the design, quality, accessibility & affordability of household cleaning extractors. As someone who is neurodiverse, autistic & on the spectrum I personally struggle with the noise from vacuum cleaners, extractors & power tools - when you said that the Tineco was quiet I was like NO way is that quiet. Abit like noisy combustion car / bus engines versus the quiet noise of new electric vehicles - if they can make new cars / buses / vehicles with minimal noise from the engine surely that engineering wisdom can be applied to new vacuums, extractors & power tools.... Here's to companies, designers & teams listening to and learning from feedback. I'd also love to see designers / manufacturers work with professional cleaners, people with disabilities, neurodiverse individuals and more to help them design better products 🙌
