The fact that LCW was playing this match while being unwell with cancer just blows my mind.
Lcw played this match with nose cancer. Same with malaysia open 2018. Still he can won his matches. He is truly spectacular badminton player. At that age with sickness, he is still a threat to younger player.
Olympic lcw would've destroyed momota. If u compare it looks like lcw isn't even trying here

What an excellent match between LCW and Momota. Kudos to Momota. This match proved once again how strong and dangerous Momota really was.....even when he was down 7 points at one stage against CW, he could still fight back and clinched the match. This reveals the great mental strength of Momota. Looking forward to the clash between Axelsen and Momota in tomorrow's final!

Not really. In fact, he told coach that he felt not very well after the first game but he insisted to play the second game. That is the reason we can see LCW slow down in the second half of the first game, even slower in the second game.
When momota reached match lcw showed how good he was when he was young he was sprinting fast and good defense even strong smash but I guess technically lcw did have a respiratory disease still he can still fight congratulations to momota btw
The way Momota played to widen the gap in the second set really shows how lethal he is. Down the line smashes without much effort. In this form he is the closest of the new-gen players to rival the legends in their prime.

LCW is a true legend and can be a good example for young players but he is the most unlucky badminton player......anyway I have a lot of respect for him..God bless him and I wish health for his sickness.....

Chong Wei was unusually tired in this game. In the 1st half of the 1st game, he was already catching his breath, which he never did. He was already sick that time, fully unaware.
30/9 LCW has no chance to win and yet he keeps on fighting !
I remember this match, the crowds were on momota side from the get go, To think that this is lcw final and last professional match, not the best way to show him the respect he deserved.
Nobody knew that this was lee chong wei's last match. He was not diagnosed at that time.

He does. He was on 2nd nearly going to be the 1st before he got suspension on early 2016. However the suspension make him more stronger than before. He's a truly living of example how hard work and persistence never fails.
Pre-suspension there was no way in hell he could beat prime Chen Long. Post-suspension, Chen Long already won the Olympics and didn't play with the same aggression as before.

She always favours LCW when she commentated his match. You should watch previous matches which she commentated where LCW was playing against his opponent (particularly vs Lin Dan). She rarely compliment Lin Dan and always compliment LCW. Everyone who watch Badminton matches for the past years would know that. I'm not blaming anyone, but a commentator should be equal and neutral to both players

LCW did win the Malaysian open last week. His age is catching up but he still makes to the semis in major competitions
