LCW is agreat competitor. He has lost to LD but he always keeps trying and gives his best. We all know LD is a marvel of badminton but to compete him we need fighters like LCW. Both are champions I should say. Legends in their own way. pople will always rembr them. I love to see both play its such a delight.

Lin Dan played really good here but in autumn of 2018 he has for the first time since 2002 been playing rather badly! He just keeps participating to keep the points up for future tournaments ;)
yea LCW physically is stronger then LD in this match, but mentality LD is stronger. If LCW play like he did vs LEE Dong Keun with that "I will win this match mentality", LCW would of won this match.
It all came down to who wanted it more, I think. LCW had his sights at bigger tournaments like the Asian games and the WC. While Lin Dan saw this as a last push towards greatness.

I'm new to badminton but I love it and have become the best player in my grade in my city, I understand just from watching them they are both amazing but I am curious more skilfully who is better could someone please tell me.
I could tell LCW was going to lose in the first 5 points of game 2. He stopped attacking, and just played defensive shots. He didn't try to quickly get in back of shots and smash, and most of his smashes were half speed. He kept clearing, and eventually LD found a way to attack. I am sure he knew what was happening. He's a very smart player. I think he must have gotten injured and knew he COULDN'T attack effectively, at least not against a player as good as LD. I notice his shoulder was strapped up...I suspect he may have injured it in Game 1. Until about 16-15 in Game 1, LCW was attacking, and had the edge. After that, he turned defensive, and didn't score another point, as LD scored 6 straight points to close out the first game. This just continued into the second game, with only brief periods of aggressive, attacking play after that from LCW. Impossible to beat LD playing defensively.

There is no one left for Lin Dan to show how good he is. LCW is the best except LD. Current gen is no match for LCW and that's why LD has become so complacent because he has no worthy opponent.

This game kind of highlights how LCW has always performed somewhat inferior when playing against LD + LD always plays better when against LCW. The reason is because players such as Axelsen and Momota have already surpassed LD by a large margin by 2017/2018. There's been games where LD couldn't even get 10 points, which is sad. Yet LCW still can consistently beat Axelsen and is around the same level as Momota. 2018 LD is around rank the level of a rank 10-20 player, being unable to beat Axelsen, Momota, Shi Yu Qi, Chou Tien Chen, Jonatan Christie, and even a bunch of lower ranked ones such as Loh Kean Yew. 2018 LCW could still beat all of the above. So it just frustrates me to 1) see LCW play nervous and make so many mistakes, and 2) LD actually smashing and attacking, but having no idea how to play Momota in Japan 2018.

The match between LD VS LCW is parable of cars in indonesia. In indonesia, toyota avanza is sold much better than mitsubishi xpander. For me, LCW is toyota avanza while LD is mitsubishi xpander. You know why? - Feature: Xpander has features more than avanza especially its safety and entertainment. LD has won so many major events more than LCW. - Durability: Unfortunatey, the durability of avanza seems to be promising especially the engine because the engine is so durable. Beside that avanza uses RWD while xpander uses FWD. Of course the useness of RWD is much more durable than FWD even though FWD is more gasoline-saving than RWD. LCW is a tough badminton player because LCW still could beat some younger badminton players more than LD at the age of 36 while the more he is old, the more his quality of skill is decreasing. - Popularity: LCW 's winning streak is higher than LD.
