The master of badminton has done it again! But what a beautiful game it was, so many 20+ rallies. I loved the sound of the shuttle getting from the rackets, they hit it so hard. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, a shame it wasn’t the final.

LCW is agreat competitor. He has lost to LD but he always keeps trying and gives his best. We all know LD is a marvel of badminton but to compete him we need fighters like LCW. Both are champions I should say. Legends in their own way. pople will always rembr them. I love to see both play its such a delight.
I agree with you without any hesitation that LCW always give in his best when playing against LD. I'm sure that most of us are aware that we would like to see LCW win, but LD is more all-round and better player than LCW after all. Nevertheless, LCW's fighting spirit do admire me the most.

@@goldendog1421 LCW is like Ip Man, looks kinda like him too. Both are highly skilled but physically frail. Lin Dan is like Mike Tyson in Ip Man 3, highly skilled and with physical prowess to boot.

I can see that LCW changed his footwork strats, he is now doing less skipping/bouncing to save energy. But I just think mentally he is more exhausted. LD kept his cool despite 0-4 at the start.

yea LCW physically is stronger then LD in this match, but mentality LD is stronger. If LCW play like he did vs LEE Dong Keun with that "I will win this match mentality", LCW would of won this match.
It all came down to who wanted it more, I think. LCW had his sights at bigger tournaments like the Asian games and the WC. While Lin Dan saw this as a last push towards greatness.
LCW has always had a mental block against LD and always seems to play better against other players
@@Lullaby513 LCW plays better against other players because he is controlling the pace and shots. but when he plays vs lin dan, he is only reacting to lin dan's shot. Don't think the mental block was the reason, maybe in the early years, but not in 2018.

I'm new to badminton but I love it and have become the best player in my grade in my city, I understand just from watching them they are both amazing but I am curious more skilfully who is better could someone please tell me.
They have their own sets of unique skills but Lin Dan's has more varieties and harder to replicate

I could tell LCW was going to lose in the first 5 points of game 2. He stopped attacking, and just played defensive shots. He didn't try to quickly get in back of shots and smash, and most of his smashes were half speed. He kept clearing, and eventually LD found a way to attack. I am sure he knew what was happening. He's a very smart player. I think he must have gotten injured and knew he COULDN'T attack effectively, at least not against a player as good as LD. I notice his shoulder was strapped up...I suspect he may have injured it in Game 1. Until about 16-15 in Game 1, LCW was attacking, and had the edge. After that, he turned defensive, and didn't score another point, as LD scored 6 straight points to close out the first game. This just continued into the second game, with only brief periods of aggressive, attacking play after that from LCW. Impossible to beat LD playing defensively.
in 2018, lin dan lost 0-2 easily to momota in japan open, momota also lost 0-2 to lee cw in malaysia open, lee cw lost 0-2 to lindan in england open.
