    Whats the whole werewolf thing about?

    • @CivilizationEx
      @CivilizationEx  4 года назад +58

      I think it's mostly poetic license from the author, saying that Dandelion's song was so beautiful it made a hungry Werewolf pass up a meal.
      In the more literal sense, the passage makes it seem like the Werewolf knew Dandelion, or heard of him somehow, and liked his music, so didn't try to kill him.
      Lastly, Geralt and Dandelion have a history with many different Werewolves, and became friends with some. So it's possible they were known and respected in some parts of the Werewolf community.

    Wait a second... I’m thrilled about this and I hope they include this part in the Netflix series but is the first Witcher video on this channel??........
    I had to come back and add something to this. I see a lot of us book people all want to see this added to the Netflix series... they are already giving us the story of Nivellen being played by and thank the gods, the very talented and great Kristofer Hivju ( who played Tormund Giantsbane on Game of Thromes if you didn’t know by now) and that story while also a really loved part of the books doesn’t have to much action in it... he briefly fights the Bruxa Vereena.. in the story of the Duke and the mermaid he barely escapes an attack by a fish person.. as much as I love the story I can’t see Lauren Hissrich giving us this. Even though she REALLY listens to the fans and learned from the mistakes of the hacks D&D.. I just think the story, while giving us some stories and fillers like the aforementioned, will start to progress with the training of Ciri and the coming of the Wild Hunt. Think about it... what is going to keep people, especially show only fans watching?? These little stories or the big bad scary apocalyptic
    Eredin Bréacc Glas & his generals & Hunt Hounds?? I just hope that when she does it she follows the video game and shows Geralt running around trying to recruit help from Skellige Crach an Craite & everyone else he asks for help. And god please let Zoltan Chivay be in it... Ok, Ok my little rant is over. I know I’m really carrying on now. God I love this story & ALL of its lore. Makes me wanna replay the Witcher 3.

      Well Eredin should be included in tv series but he will not be king there just general of Red Riders(Wild Hunt).And Lauren Hissrich so far feed us shit not good story from the books so would not be so excited.

      janusz janusz I don’t know... a lot of stuff that’s out there, especially on Rawist’s channel.. I think even our boy Civilization Ex here would back me up and vouch for her too, is saying that she’s really listening to the fans, looking at and even as far as playing the Witcher 3! I think she’s gonna do a great job and this next season is gonna be a home run. Especially after a season has as much success as this did after their first. They get approved for more and get a BIG budget raise... I believe the special effects will be a lot better as well. The dragons and monsters weren’t that great and the show runners have made that clear that the fans weren’t happy with it and they said that’s getting improved as well. I think it’s gonna be great. And if it isn’t we’ll fuckin riot! That’s all!!

    Thanks for another video of the Witcher. Looking forward to the next one.
    It would have been nice to see this adapted in season 1. Highly doubt they will though from season 2 (especially with them pretty much moving on to "Blood of Elves" saga storyline, and for this story to be adapted, it needs Geralt and Dandelion to be roaming the Continent, with Geralt taking the Witcher jobs. I think the Nivellen story would be the only exception to this).

    • @januszjanusz2002
      @januszjanusz2002 4 года назад

    • @CoolGuyJ84
      @CoolGuyJ84 4 года назад

      @@januszjanusz2002 Yeah, I know (as I've stated above) they will be inserting the Nivellen storyline (A Grain of Truth) for season 2 with Geralt & Ciri on their way to Kaer Morhen. But honestly I think there's just a lot more hurdles for this story (A Little Sacrifice) than Nivellen's tale such as the following:
      1. Dandelion: he is just as essential part of this short story as Geralt, due to his connection to both Geralt & Essi
      2. My guess is that Geralt & Ciri will travel their route through the following regions starting from Sodden (Yurga's farm at end of season 1 finale) to Temeria, to Redania (where there'll encounter Nivellen in the Murivel woods), then Kaedwen (where they eventually reach Kaer Morhen).
      Only way they would fit in this Mermaid tale would be for Geralt and Ciri to make a long (yet unnecessary) detour where they go through Brugge, Brokilon forest, where they eventually reach Cidaris. But even with that there's another problem with Bremervoord (the seaside region where this story is set) being the furthest corner of the Cidaris region (hence they would get further and further away from their destination, Kaer Morhen if this detour is taken).
      I don't think it would make sense for them to do that unless they're just completely ignoring the map of the Continent.
      To add, I've heard (though not confirmed) the Nivellen episode will be one of the very early episodes of season 2. With that in mind, and with them having Blood of Elves material to cover, other than the Nivellen story that they conveniently slipped in (along the way), I just don't think they'll have time for this story (even though I really like it), with them continuing the 8 episodes format.
      But I could also be wrong, so let's see what tales they use.

    • @januszjanusz2002
      @januszjanusz2002 4 года назад

      @@CoolGuyJ84 Well in your thinking you making 2 simple mistakes: 1 Lauren Hissrich don't care about geography of witcher Cintinent. She showed that in season 1 (where she connected elfs rebelion in Aedirn with Cintra,Nilfgard chasing Ciri to Brokillon and still endup near Sodden Hill and otcher stuff i don't really want to waste my time on:).
      2 She not care about accuracy to the book. She made up 2/3 of content in season 1 wnich was not accurate (or even against) books. So she can make Kear Morhen as succubus sex dungeon and we can't do anything about it.

    • @CoolGuyJ84
      @CoolGuyJ84 4 года назад

      @@januszjanusz2002 1. You'll need to be specify with your example with Elf's rebellion (which episode, which specific scene etc) because I don't really remember that scene in the show. With Nilfgaard chasing Ciri to Brokilon and ending up near Sodden, well the show actually explains it in Episode 8. Cahir and his 50,000 men were trying to take the Sodden keep in order to establish it as a stronghold in order to take Temeria with the General's reinforcements (in order for the entire Nilfgaard army to "push through to the north" as said by his lieutenant in the war camp).
      Also Sodden is actually the region just adjacent to Cintra, and not that far from Brugge as well (which is just outside Brokilon), so it's not that infeasible for Cahir's army to change course. So there really isn't a problem with geography of where characters go around from what I'm seeing in season 1.
      2. Well, it's not like her way of adapting the books was perfect (she erased Geralt& Ciri's first meeting in Brokilon which I didn't like, plus Geralt's POV in episode 7 [him being locked up, and escaping Cintra] & the whole Mousesack doppler storyline was the show's own stuff etc etc), but saying 2/3 is made up? I think that's over-exaggeration, I mean yes, with 8 episodes, quite a bit is condensed from the books, but still almost every episode adapts a short story from the books. For me, I'd say the show takes liberties of around between 30% ~ 40% (not saying that's necessary all good, but not saying that's flat out terrible as well).
      Anyway, part of my point is, that I just don't want the same thing done in The Witcher that was done in Game of Thrones (especially in later seasons) where characters were jumping around the far corners of the map in matter of minutes that basically defies logic (this is in addition to character Dandelion, my other point).
      I think that's all I have left to say on this matter.

    • @januszjanusz2002
      @januszjanusz2002 4 года назад

      @@CoolGuyJ84 1.Filavandrel rebellion. Wnich they put in Cintra (and it was in Dol Blathana). There is map of Continent here : external-preview.redd.it/NZh5uyXGyXlfCwXrkbivzelUZ6sBVahieoihK3HoPQk.jpg?auto=webp&s=b79827e0f4aa3da455fe040b679d479d1b1a266a And how according to this map you can chase someone from Cintra to Brokillon and endup in Sodden?:) With all forts guarding Jaruga river in 1st war near Sodden was first safe point to cross river (as they corrupted forts before 2nd war). So they could not chase Ciri to Brokillon, they would not even cross river.Jaruga river was one of reasons Nilfgaard lost 1st war and that's why they made all forts will be theirs before start 2nd war. So all that doppler-Mousesack-Brokillon part of the serie shown how she don't know/care about world she operating in.
      2 Whole Ciri and Yennefer stories were made up by Netflix. Geralts were cut/changed so in the end i can say 2/3 was not book content. Every short story was totally shortened (some like dragon hunt to the point i wonder why not cut it off and save space in episode),some with totally different outcome (dragon again,shard of ice). Episode 7 is 100% Netflix made and there is NOTHING there what would be in books (exept names of characters wnich acting 100% not like books ones : Istred, Yennefer, Vilgefortz,Calanthe). So it maybe even more than 2/3 if i would have go trough all this episodes with timer and calculator i'm sure number would be even higher but can't be bother to watch this tv serie again.
      In Witcher is easier to jump characters in space as there are people who can do it (mages).Game of thrones was good tv series when they followed the books. But they had good excuse for last seasons - they had no books to go with. So i'm not so angry on them as i am for The Witcher. They have books to follow but they deciding not to. And making some characters too important when they should not be (Cahir,Fringilla,Yennefer,Stregobor,Tissaia) while otchers who were important are not (Vilgefortz,where is Philippa Eilhart?) for god know what reason just make me hate this showrunner more and more.So far leaks from season 2 showing they will not follow books again.
