Looking back on when things went so wrong - it's amazing to see just what they have achieved. Your reporting on this all the way thru has been excellent. So good to see that gorgeous plane of yours again. Thanks Juan.
Hi Gary - not too bad, if somewhat fatigued from an over long winter! Shop has yet to warm up much and the old back is an ongoing problem but, sure hope to get some shop time one of these days!
My internet was down all day after a storm last week so I started over on your Orville Dam series. (have them downloaded) It was great to watch them again. And then again just now when you flashed back a few times. Excellent work and fascinating project! Be safe and thank you!
thanks Juan, came to your blog because of the Oroville crisis and really appreciate the updates and all the work that has been done. Yes California should've taken care of the problem earlier, but it's fixed now, and that deserves some congratulations.
Thanks Juan! You're one of the few honest people on here that tells it how it is and how you see it and why I will be a longtime subscriber and really appreciate what you do!
Thank you Juan, you beat your local news with a stick. They had no information and I am sure it is available to all media. Love your upadates and your travels.

Once again, a great summary and clarification of the situation. Juan, grew up as a kid in the Chico/Gridley area and on our "Sunday rides" we would sometimes go to see the progress of the Oroville Dam construction. As you know, as the dam height progressed, the visitor/viewing observatory moved up the side of the hill also. Also, my grandmother volunteered to help raise funds to have CA Poppies dropped on the face of the dam by helicopter thus when they bloomed it would be the golden poppy color. Don't recall that ever came about but the green bloom on the face of the dam may be part of that.
Thanks as always Capt. Browne for the Oroville update and flight. That slide slip while landing would of had me clutching the seat but you took it so smooth and in stride. Great video!
Still amazing....and you’ve got me watching from now on from the east coast the winter snows in your area to account just how much runoff will test the work done on the rebuild project at Oroville. And I’m glad the Luscombe finally got a introduction to the masses as you may remember I asked of her specs a while back. Great stuff as always there “captain” and always are glad for more Sir....
I have been with you since the "old days" of the first spillway disaster. I would follow the professional construction by Kiewit every day. And I continue with you today for your keen insight on the recent aircraft crashes. Thanks for all your effort and time. I appreciate it.
Juan, awesome, as usual. I noticed the "ballooning" before touch-down - looks like fun. Thanks for the extra bits of info about on-the-ground "squirrelly" controls - airflow & tail wheel.
Thanks again for a great update! Really enjoy how you talk us through your takeoffs and landings. I think you would be an amazing instructor. I can’t wait to see one of your kids someday say “I have the plane” and see them taking off and landing...

Love that Luscombe! I'm always hyper-focused on watching when you're flying - the wife gets mad ... she was having a full conversation with me, and I didn't even know she was standing there, HAHAHAHA! She knows I love my aircraft, and this is about as close as I can get to actually flying. Good fueling plan - I do the same with my RD350. Always gets fuel before it gets parked, especially before the long 5-7 month winter when it sits idle. She always starts 3 kicks every spring, though. I get into the habit of cutting off the fuel a half mile from the house, and I use full choke to get me the last few hundred feet to the barn. Oil injected, so no seizure worries. Empty bowls ensures easy starting, here in ethanol country (MA). Thanks for the update, Juan! Looks like that water came up quick! All systems look to be a go for that spillway to start flowing again.👍 👍
Great reporting Juan. I have read some of the recent hysteria over that little bit of water oozing out from under the gates. We want to thank you for all your great reporting and are looking forward to seeing your report on the opening of those gates.

GREEN SPOT!!! 🤪🤣 I had to bring it up haha. On a more serious note, I've been watching the live feed on and off and noticed they moved the boat ramp road below the emergency spillway RCC below the cut off wall but I didn't notice from your aerial view if they put culverts to take any rain runoff under the road at each of the low spots. I know they said the plan was to let the water run over the road in the event of actually using the emergency spillway but a bit surprised they didn't think to include any drainage points under the road for normal rain runoff. Maybe it is there and I could see it. As always, thanks for the update Juan!
