Did this blow your mind like it did mine?? 🤯🤯 Let me know what blew your mind the most! 👇
hairs and pores in the side to know current???? 😱👍
so mind blown that they know the sent of each individual fish! craziness
The statement mark made about fish remembering something traumatic for six months if that’s true we’re all in trouble we won’t be Catchin very many fish😩
About bass having pores and hair didn't know that
Isn’t that nuts?? @jcbassfishing
Of all the videos you’ve made this has to be one of the top 10. I am 73 years old and have been fishing Bass, Crappie, and Pearce for 68 years of my life and I learned more than any other video I ever watched.
I also am in the process of changing my boxes to at least 90% Berkeley baits.
The eye deal blew my mind but made sense, learned a lot guy's like a walking encyclopedia !!!!
The Berkley Research Video was Awesome. The information has lead me to purchase a large number of Berkley products. Anglers baits, hooks, line, etc. and more.
Quality Baits in the upper price range are still the least expensive part of an angulars overall expense to bass fish. Thanks Edwin !
when you fish for a living / tournaments and you tube $$$ you can afford house and boat to fish from. I'm poor and apartment living no boats no house to store one. bank fishing is the only way I can go, but you help with so much info on fishing, that I take to heart when fishing everywhere in KY. Thanks.
You should check out tylerreelsfishing 100 ponds all bank fishing
This possibly one of the top videos you’ve ever done.
I am 73 years old and have been fishing Bass, bluegill, and crappie for 68 years of it
Evers seems humble. He knows so much that he understands the value of always trying to learn. He just listens, probably can out fish the Berkley Doc 10 to 1 but he just listens to learn.
My observation exactly, Mr wizard is a know-it-all that needs his ego stroked every few seconds and has zero sense of humor. (Ohh I know this and ohh I know that). Lol
I can't believe I just found this video. I watch every video of yours that I can find. Thank for sharing your knowledge and personality.
My question would be to ask Mike, being a bass's sense of smell is so great and capable of memory retention, do they recognize human scent and detour when they come into contact. Should we be careful not to over handle our baits to prevent contaminating it with human or any other scent that may detour fish?
I'd love to spend some time in the Berkley research facilities to better understand how they come to conclude their studies. Very interesting stuff! 👍
I can not remember where I saw this - perhaps a recent article in In-fisherman but I believe their finding was that fish were deterred actually by sun block and therefor if handling a bait would unknowingly deter fish if it was on your hands. My assumption is the same as yours - they can smell us. No doubt. And our fears of getting skunked.
as Kaili Purviance mentioned, I don't want to induce human odors on lures, so I carry a box of nitrile gloves in my boat so I can apply sunscreen and NOT get it on fingers and palms. I do dab or tap the back of my hand on an area of my arm where sunscreen is applied to get some protection on back of my hands (I can't get use to fishing gloves). Bill Dance said the back of his hands are severely sun damaged because sunscreen technology was not very understood in 60's, 70's, and 80;s.
@@zrulz wear uv protection fingerless gloves. They are really comfy
They have spray on/aerosol sun screen. But I recommend using neck gaiters, they also have long sleeve light material with built in UV protection, same with shorts and pants. Just do an online search. I use this gear and never put on sun screen.
*Question for Mark*
Can you recommend a book or author or textbook to do research on forage like crawfish, frogs, bluegills, bluebacks etc?
What a awesome video filled with so much info on bass it makes so much since now. Keep it up Edwin and catching fish never gets old now matter how much I do it
Super cool video! I love learning the science of the bass & the different baits. Thanks Edwin for the great content.

This is awesome, so much information packed into one video
Best type of video on RUclips when it comes to learning and knowing how the fish act, think, etc perfect video from Project E
Great job E....
keep it up very educational
Great video. I learned a ton, but the biggest thing I took away was that bass in one body of water will set up differently than bass in another body of water based on forage. That makes too much sense can't believe it's never dawned on me before. Great stuff! I'll watch this three more times just to make sure I pick up every little nugget this guy drops.
Awesome episode!!
This was amazing! I can watch these types of informational videos all day. Thanks for sharing this!

Closest I’ve ever been getting inside a Bass’s head. Loved the info on color, smell, hearing, and eyesight!
I do the same thing with a ned head, and just add a longer worm when the river smallies want a bigger meal. Great information!
Thanks for watching Scott!

Very, very good episode. A lot of things started to make sense now. Knowledge is power, and not a lot of people is willing to share it. Thanks for sharing with us.
Absolutely that’s my why behind this channel, to help people get better. Glad you’re enjoying it Ivan!
Wow great information!!!!!
Keep it coming
Awesome knowledge!
Well I've been bass fishing now over 40 years and I'm not to proud to say I learned a ton from this one video. Never knew bass had hairs, that their sense of smell is better than a bloodhound and the list goes on. 25 minutes well spent, thank you and do a part two to this video!
Guys, humans have a sense of balance from the cilia (hairs) in our eustachian tube in our ears. That is why when we spin around a stop suddenly we fell dizzy and unbalanced. The cilia continue in the original direction for a while. It make sense that fish a a way to sense balance and movement.
What a great video.i didn't know alot of things about bass.need more videos like that.thank you edwin
Thank you for watching Willard! Glad it helped!

Wow! Great stuff!! I'd love to spend a day fishing with both of u guys 😊
Edwin, FANTASTIC JOB !!!!
This is such a great feature from Lowrance. As a Lowrance Pro Staff, here in OKC, OK. I will be sharing how to use this feature in my seminars. For use on small bodies of water that are not well mapped, this is a game changer.
WOW! Wish I could remember everything Mark talked about in this video, really found it amazing about their senses ,eyes, hearing, smell! Hope I can put a some of this to use next time on the water. Enjoy your channel so much and learning every time, thanks!
Thank you Danny for subscribing
One of the best on RUclips. Great video.
Thank you Don!
Edwin you have quickly become one of my favorite “go to” teachers of this sport. This is an awesome video and confirms why you are as good as you are-never stop learning and remaining humble. By the way, I can’t remember the details exactly but the last time I got to go fishing, I watched your video on chatterbaits with your son, I believe. 10 minutes into the trip I was pulling in a 3 Lber using the technique you spoke of. Thanks
That’s so awesome - thanks for letting me know! Good to know this channel is bringing value to you 💪
That was amazing thanks
Great stuff Edwin! Really interesting to hear from the "researcher/Lab guys!!"
Looking forward to your swimbait coming out later this year.
Very educational; we would enjoy another segment with you & the biologist; maybe some more of your questions and or viewer questions. I talk a lot and I promise you I would have plenty of questions and comments if I had the opportunity you had! Good Job! Keep ‘‘em coming Edwin!
Great video. It can get old just watching people fish with no education. This was a great balance. Learned a lot. Thanks.
Absolutely Roger thank you for watching!
Super informative - brilliant to interview someone who is a scientist with Berkley and has a MSc in Fisheries Management! Thanks so much for the video.
Awsome & very educational. Thank you.
You bet, thank you! 💪🎣
That sounds awesome I’ve fished jigs but that was a new spin on it
Fantastic as always, Edwin! Fisheries biology is a fascinating topic. In my case, applying it to fishing and the management of a few family farm ponds is icing on the cake. I look forward to trying some of your pecans as well. God Bless from Southwest Georgia!
Awesome Scott!! Thanks for the support!
Excellent. Will try the jig worm
Awesome content Edwin! And very good question about memory because we always wonder about that. It sounds like if there is not a “negative experience“ involved (like shaking them off a worm or soft plastic), there’s a higher chance to catch them within the next few days on that same bait. Plus, you’ve probably experienced that many times before too. God bless and tight lines!
Great video man! That was so cool, I haven’t retained that much information since college 😂
This guy needs his own RUclips channel.
This is amazing information. 🤯
Great video, learned a ton.
Edwin by far your teaching abilities are the best. How about making a part 2 and fish a river system. I live minutes from the Ohio River and would like to know Mark’s thoughts on max scent and power bait in moving water.
Yes, please help us out here on the Ohio River. Maybe even do a “lake” breakdown on the Gallipolis or Belpre Ohio pools.
To learn that their sense of smell is that incredible, gave me the idea to spray myself with Powerbait formula every time I go fishing!🤣
Wow...a professional bass fisherman mentioned my hometown😁
All I can say is wow blown away
Thanks for the tips. I fish a small deep lake near me and it has been tough fishing this summer. This lake is known for big bass. I’m not giving up!
This was a great video!
Great stuff EE, I’m learning a ton watching your content. After watching you and Larry I was able to remove a treble hook from another Anglers hand. It was the first time I’d ever done it, although he didn’t know that! 🤣
What a fantastic video! Nice job
Thank you Chad! 💪
One of the most informative videos I’ve ever watched. Definitely subscribed to this channel now! I wonder if the bass memory/reluctance to bite the same lure again is due to lure type or lure color or both?
I'm going to need to watch this at least five more times
Dang this is some great and very interesting information on bass. This is info that I've never knew! Man it would be freakin great working with him at Berkeley! Great vid E2!
Wouldn’t be one of the coolest jobs in the world?? Thank you for watching I’m glad you liked it!
Very very informative
Thank you for the great tips. I'm new to bass specific fishing and I'm always trying to get more help and advice to improve.
That’s awesome Patrick, I hope you get a lot of value from this channel. I’m putting out new videos every week. Thanks for watching!
Is there one technique or lure for a beginner to start with and not be overwhelmed with color, weight, rod, reel, etc?
Great video!
Great episode
Thank you Martin!
I stumbled on the "jig worm" a few months ago and I know everyone has their favorite bait that they think is the best ever but- I'm telling you guys- if you want to have a good day try a pack of Klone Ringo Worms. I picked some up just because I had heard so much about the old LC ring worms and how well they worked- thought maybe these would do the same- and just by luck, I was right. I've never caught so many spotted bass in one trip- they go nuts for these things. Small mouth to- can't resist them. The way they're made- being just a series of disks connected by thin tube in the center- gives them amazing action. The durability isn't great but, they're not especially expensive either so- buy multiple packs- trust me. The candy bug color- which is mostly plum- really works well for me- but so does the sapphire color.
