Don’t say “my anxiety” say “the anxiety that I’m feeling”. It sends a message to your subconscious mind to not hold on to the anxiety as part of the identity. The end goal is to be free from that anxiety. Not to attribute it to one self.

Your right say something like I’m feeling anxiety or the anxiety I am experiencing ... don’t take ownership of it but I will say once you understand how to do it and have proper set up statements it really does help ... I was never consistent and learned it 6 yrs ago but guess who’s doing in a daily basis 🤣 it’s important to be consistent otherwise nothing will help

With eft, it literally doesn't matter how you perceive that ones "subconscious" interprets it. In fact, your always better off using the terminology that naturally occurs to you. In fact Gary Craig mentions this concept in his series on eft, he realized that he was injecting his own idea of how he perceived the clients issue and had them tap using his words - until one time when the patient wasn't decreasing suds level, the client interjected and said that that setup phrase didn't really reflect how the client perceived their issue - they changed it to the clients wording and had a major breakthrough. Ever since then he taught that as basic practice; allow the client to form their own phraseology.
Although I agree that outside of eft, nlp applies in terms of effective speaking - never own the debilitating concept.

@@barb6056 that’s another concept though, putting words in clients mouths is not gonna help them obviously, allowing them to express what best reflects their problem in their own language is Key and then from there illuminating the attribution is actually a must to ensure sustainable results. So I disagree, it actually matters what language you use when you speak about your problem, and as a practitioner they need to be aware of this and bring it to the clients awareness, otherwise their work is purely surface level.

When I was first introduced to tapping, I was in depression and experiencing extreme anxiety. The counsellor who showed me the EFT basics used the same phrase "I deeply love and accept myself" in the set-up statement but it felt so "wrong" that I cringed internally every time I repeated it. It was the opposite to what I was feeling towards myself at the time and I didn't try tapping again for a long time. Much later I found other phrases that resonated much better. Simply by adding the words "I choose to ... (e.g. accept how I feel)" or "I'm willing / open to..." makes a huge difference. I think the key is to find the words that feel true to you and then you will feel the difference.

Thanks Nicole for all your work that you provide to us. This video is old and comparing this video to the new ones, the information it's always key to learn more about ourselves, but something I have notice is that your voice and the way you explain now is more calm than before, even your breathing in this video compare to a video on 2023 it's completely different. You look more relaxed, happy and at peace now. However your posts on instagram and your RUclips videos are amazing AND YOUR LAST BOOK IS SO GOOD, thanks for all the work you do for all of us to build a healthy community and teach us how to heal ourselves.

Just came from watching a video giving advice, and they recommended EFT. I looked it up, and not going to lie, I was slightly skeptical. I came across your video first and tried it after watching. And was *shocked* as to how much of a difference I felt immediately after. Thanks for taking your time to share this!

Eft helped me immensely when I was stuck in abusive relationship. I am sad to see it debunked on wikipedia. It works! For free. My best advice is to just try it. The only thing you have to lose is your anxiety. Wish they taught this in schools. Children today could use this. The only thing I did different is to keep repeating the "completely love and accept myself" with every tap. It is magical how your stress can just melt away. Also a good technique to identify what is bugging you on a daily basis. I hope everyone reading this finds a private spot and just tries it, even if they don't have major stress now. Learn the technique and when major life events happen, you are much better at coping. Try other videos if you need to, but please just try it.

The key to using EFT effectively to release old energy/trauma/hurts is being able/willing/ready to "walk thru" the pain "full on" while you tap, which most of us avoid at all costs via avoidance 😊.
A blanket statement doesn't work to release stuck energy ('all this trauma I feel") - you need to be very specific about an event(s) that traumatised you or caused you pain (even tho I feel crappy about my job because my boss is a jerk" - not gonna work like "even tho I feel angry that my boss did (such and such specific event)...). It's not as convenient as a blanket statement, but it's the only thing that really works. Something else will typically pop up as you go that needs to be "tapped out", like peeling back the layers of an onion until you get to the center.
If you're not re-living the pain of a *specific* event - full on - while you tap then the "grip" it has on you can't be released. You can start with a blanket statement to get you going paying attention to what pops up in your head and following (tapping) that wherever it leads you.
This is one of those "walking thru the fire's" you need the strength to do to get to the other side.
If it's too scary for you to do on your own, find a qualified, skilled practitioner to help you or just keep at it until you're ready and hit the gold.
The set up statement and repeat should hit a deep nerve - bring you to tears.
Facing trauma head on can be/feel really overwhelming...too much to bare - you want to ignore it in hopes it'll just go away. Just remember that in just a few minutes of reliving the pain you and your body can release it for good. That makes it a lot less scary.
If EFT isn't helping, keep at it until you're in the mind space to do it or get help. Brief pain = release.
Hoping this helps and you find your peace and release.
Tip: if you have a hard time saying "I deeply and completely love myself" you can try "I deeply and completely accept myself" (you might have a hard time with that statement too but it may be more accordance to you. "Accepting myself" is the statement the "gold standard" Gary Craig - the originator of EFT recommends in your set up statement).
Also, draw on all the body work tools you can: if you can afford it and are okay with it, therapeutic massage with a skilled and empathetic masseuse is excellent for helping to release stored up mental/emotional "gunk" in your body. Same with chiropractic. I also want to mention the use of therapeutic/calming herbs such as lemon balm, chamomile and especially saffron (as teas) - mood lifters and "calmers'. Look for all the ways available to you to help your body/mind/soul (nutrition, rest, excersize, fun, laughter, hugs, positive people...even if just on RUclips). Just don't give up. Keep at it until you find your way (there is a way) ☺

I had NET done by an excellent practitioner in Toronto. It was 75$ for half an hour and $150 for an hour. This was 20 years ago. It helped me so much. We uncovered that my anxieties and fear of abandonment were because I was left alone crying in my crib at 8 months (my mom was an alcoholic). Discovering this allowed me to release so much pent up emotion! I wish I had money to do more.

Its sad we are where we are, but I rarely have time to watch videos over 10 minutes anymore. Noticing absolutely loving the 2-3 min vids available now on RUclips also...allows me to learn quickly/succintly...then go about my day thinking deeper/processing that video, then exploring more/deeper another day...ps, this reminds me of EMDR work...I'd be interested to see a pro/con video, or rather, which technique better to use in which circumstances! Also, I love your role play videos on IG. Find them extremely applicable to "see" it in "real life". Thank you, I recommend your IG channel CONSTANTLY! big fan here.

My Higher self guided me to this technique through repetitive synchronicities

The first time I encountered tapping, it was called TFT. It was a little longer a process, had more tapping points, and involved eye movements and even humming. I was scheduled to go caving with some friends, and as our guide described the cave, the pipe we had to crawl through to enter, the drop-down, the narrow space next like crawling under your bed for 10 yards before it finally opened up into a room 3 feet high... My anxiety was through the roof. After just a couple rounds, the fear and anxiety were gone, and I had a great time in the cave. I continued using the tapping and tried to share the technique with others, who mostly thought I was nuts. But I knew it worked. I've long forgotten the TFT, but this EFT is abbreviated and simpler to remember. It always makes me yawn. Someone told me that means it's working. That person also told me it makes some people pass gas. I'm glad I just yawn. I'm diving back into tapping, this time to tackle weight loss, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar. Then I'll start to use tapping to manifest my desires. I'm excited about the new adventures.

I watch this video, and as I do,
so many thoughts arise in me...
    mainly: I have severe C-PTSD,
I am an INFJ, and I have a very
fucked up relationship with my parents...
    it's part of the reason
    for the fucked-upness
that is my life. I am so ashamed
at the current state of my life.
I have no clue how to escape
the horrors of it. my life is fucked up
    beyond imagination. what to do?
999-trillion layers of guilt and shame
and rage and regret and grief,
surface in me and consume me.
    eating my soul alive...

Brad Yates has copied Mr Gary Craig, the founder of EFT. He fails to acknowledge him.

Hi Nicole, I recently started following you everywhere lol how often should you do this exercises and can I do them as I wake up or going to bed instead of waiting for anxiety to strike in? Thanks for all you do!

I have a life time of crap that I brought to my tap. I do feel like crying & I feel very tired now. My limbs are tingling & I feel lighter in breathing. Which is what always leads me to anxiety attacks is tight chest. I will continue to try technique & study more . Thank you oh & now my nasal way is wide open & I can smell my shampoo in my hair . Very interesting

When my therapist told me about this three years ago, I didn't give it much of a chance.
