Wow, amazing! This is one of the benefits of the Mirage being a tall sub compact. With the Mr. Buddy heater you are snug as a bug in a rug. I would be a solo traveler and I can imagine setting it up with a few more features.
Awesome. I wish more people would post stuff like this with their Mirages. These really are great little cars. Hopefully there’s a a cult following on the horizon & I don’t think it’ll take as long as it did for the Geo Metro/Suzuki Swift. Another die hard 3-banger. 👍🏻
Just bought a mirage last year and I’m basically a mirage cultist! I want to give mine a lift so I can follow my buddies trucks better in the bush (honestly stock Mitsubishi is already surprisingly good off-road)
@@jonathangodin4775 You're probably gonna laugh but... I'm kinda with you on that. Seriously think about this. There's been numerous vehicles that have humble siblings that do commuter service in an urban setting, while there are other versions that same vehicle, tuned to be more robust to deal with rougher conditions (beefier suspensions & 4WD). So why not do the same thing with the Mirage? I'm planning on doing something with the coils. I don't want to mess with the handling, its roadworthiness or cause things to wear funny. Therefore, I believe a mild lift at the springs work. I already have a really low profile push bar & LEDs that I'm going to add whenever I get around to it. And at some point, I'll add a trailer hitch. No, it's not going to tow my rider mower places or pickup a load of bags of concrete from Menards but, it could certainly move an appliance from time to time or use a Hitch-Haul for any items too nasty to put in my little baby. It would just make it so much more versatile.
Awesome. I just took my rear seats out this afternoon and am about to car camp with my Mirage too. I am 5'8". Ultimately the goal is to fit two people. I can't fit all that wood in my apartment's storage unit, so I might be going simple, putting down extra blankets and pillows to level it out. Who knows. Your setup looks awesome! I used to car camp in the northeast with my sentra, fun trips!
It’s nice to see someone else using a mirage for travel. The fuel economy is great. I spent 6 weeks in mine and wanted to continue. I see a lot of similarities between our builds, although I don’t think I ever shared a video of mine when it was finished.
I'm thinking about buying a Mirage just for traveling because I'm retired now. Not full time or anything but maybe a month in the spring and a month in the fall or something like that. I can get a low mileage mirage for around 10,000. If I pay cash, I wouldn't need collision insurance which would lower my costs plus the good gas mileage. I can get a lifetime pass for national forests and parks which also gives half price for camping. I was wondering if I could fit one of those larger propane canisters. Apparently so.
This is awesome! I was just searching for ways to sleep comfortably in a mirage. I have been living in my mirage for almost a year. Love my little car. I’m a big guy so it can be a bit of a challenge 🤣 Great video!!
Nicely done both car and video. One thing that bothers me is the propane for heating. The Mr Buddy heater is rated for indoors if all instructions are followed but burning propane in a closed environment produces toxic fumes. There are always warnings about using proper ventilation. Did you sleep with open windows for ventilation? How did you avoid breathing the toxic combustion gases? Stay safe.
When you open the hatchback, how wide is the space from the interior wheel well to the other? I have two suitcases that are 31" tall by 20" wide. I want to lay them flat in back.
I have a 2008 Mitsubishi colt. 1,3. I made it a camper van. It's a perfect car, cos it's easy to take out the back seats, and the passenger seat is plane, and it's a tall car.

As a mirage owner, this was great to see for when i inevitably become homeless due to this economy.
😅
Same

I travelled in mine for a while with a similar setup and I do it again every chance I get. The fuel economy allows for a lot more freedom
I seen a guy in a geo do this, and he had a little shower setup too. They are both nice cars, but all it takes is a little creativity.

I as well own a mirage and have spent nights in my car and was looking for a better set up ...thank you for sharing this. very helpful indeed.
You're the best dad, over and above.

Great little car and you did a great job with the set up. I have never did a road trip before and I would love to do it in my little mirage.
I love the mirage because it's easy maintenance

what a great memory from a frugal adventure - hope the arm heals up cleanly!
nice work.
Great content bro! Thanks 👊🏻🔥
I've been car camping in a nissan versa and WOW! this setup is genius and is such a good use of your limited space. good job
This video means a lot because I want to escape CA to Oregon but I’m really poor right now. I’ll DM you with questions if that’s cool.
Nice one use your mirage to the max .
It was very helpful thanks so much
Respect from this frugal Dutchman.
This is awesome please keep us updated

We had one window cracked open, I also had a carbon monoxide sensor
I was wanting for a video like this one, thanks 💪🏼
Awesome 👏
I did this in my year 1999 Mitsubishi Space Star
Pretty inventive. I don't think I'd want the heater that close to the ceiling though, they get very hot.

Our family just purchased 2 brand new Mirages, great little car.
Best of luck to you. I think you’re going to be happy with them.
Dude our neighbor have a black one with sporty wheels and low suspension and it look so cute and adorable
Good job. If you covered the wood with carpet, it would look more refined.
Amazing!
I wondered how to do this. Thanks
i plan on taking my mirage g4 from Jersey to Florida 16 hour drive 1000 miles
I like your car. Can i have it?

I have a Hyundai Accent 2022 it's cheap I love it good MGP for a standard small car.
How tall are you? Im thinking about getting a mirage to travel in and dont like hotels.
6ft
🤩👍🏻
Where’s the bathroom/shower? That’s amazing! Genius
Bathroom at the ski lodges, shower at planet fitness or truck stops
I thought it was wild when people turned their Scion Xb into a camper.🤣
Dad makes it work 👍
Yea…. I don’t know about having a propane tank inside the car while I’m sleeping!!!
how did u get the back seats so flat
I took out the back seats
You could throw a real soup kitchen in that bhaddie.
How did you remove the seats??
The back seat just pops out, and the backs have to be unscrewed
@@maxexb so i can take the back seats out without any tools?
Don't have a kid because it costs like $100,000 dollars from 0 to 18 years
