      I agree 100%. I think I speak for many of us, when I say we wrote this car off before it came out. I'm a MDT at a large Toyota Dealership, and was the one chosen to be the sole tech to work on these cars. Went to be trained on these cars for 2wks, and during those 2wks, was able to drive them on a track to see what they were capable of. I have a whole new respect for these cars. Numbers in this case do not tell the whole story. They are extremely impressive, and a lot of fun. For a converter trans, I couldn't believe how fast and precise the shifts were. And the power comes on so hard for a mid 300hp vehicle. I've now worked on several, and am continously impressed on the build quality and the foresight when they designed this car. I'm an owner of 2 Z06's, and I can confidently say that I would add one of these to my fleet. Honestly, there's a yellow one for sale right now that's tempting me 😏

    I went from a Cayman S to a Panamera 4S to picking up a 2022 black Supra 3.0 Premium yesterday. It’s a faster version of my Cayman S, corners just as well from what I tell-am very impressed-and unlike my Cayman S I can throw things in the back like a few guitars. Drop dead gorgeous. Getting it lowered with H&R springs. It would’ve cost $100K+ to buy a Porsche that equals the performance and has less cargo space in back.

    Toyota couldn’t have picked a better company to work with. Supra was popular when it first came out, but Paul Walker made the Supra iconic. When he passed away Paul Walker had more BMWs than other brand in his collection. Paul even tracked BMWs. People are now looking closer at Paul’s personal collection and are trying to attain any of those BMWs for their own collection.

    I’ve watched 100 reviews on this car and this one is my favorite so far. One thing I was wondering. The stock car you autocrossed on street tires, what was the overall balance? I assume leaned towards oversteer from other videos I’ve seen. I’m wondering what suspension mods I’ll need for street class autocross. Maybe just bigger front sway bar, besides 200tw?

      I actually have a video vlog of the day on my channel! Check it out :) if I recall correctly a bit of push on corner entry that I feel a square set of tires would remedy. A bit of oversteer on exit depending how much throttle you give, but it was very controllable and manageable

    Your whole bit about the car being too fast for canyon/road driving is 100% correct! I have an E92 M3 that is probably about as quick is this Supra, and whenever I go canyoning I am hitting 200kph between turns and that is just not a good idea, lol! Or, I am feathering the throttle out of the corners and chilling until the next corner, which is soooo not fun. Solution: I bought a 128i with coilovers and decent summers (ie. NOT race tyres lol). Problem solved, I push the car hard, run it through the gears and slide it a bit and I am now only 160pkh between turns and that is way more reasonable...to me anyway, lol. I save the M3 for track days when I hear that v8 scream to 8k!!!

    • @R_C32
      @R_C32 3 года назад +2

      Nissan did go from a inline 6 to a v6, but most of the western audience didn't care cause it was the first GTR that was ever available in the states. I grew up in an East Asian country, and I can tell you many of the older petrol heads I know from watching Best Motoring, as well as just through word of mouth from car enthusiasts where I grew up from, wasn't very fond of the R35 either on release. Most people said it was simply a computer on wheels, or it wasn't on the Skyline platform any more, or, as you've stated, it isn't using a inline 6 RB engine. They had a connection to the skylines growing up, and were sad that it was going away. The western audience never had this connection or driving experience of said skylines, thus, most didn't care for the change to a entirely different platform, but they were , however, introduced to the Supra, as it was sold in the states, albeit, very poorly. Most of these criticisms have gone away though, simply due to how good the new R35's platform is, potential wise. The mk5 could follow those footsteps, where 10-15 years from now, rather than people crying about how the engine is developed by BMW, people will be fond of the b58, but only time will tell.

    • @artemiscool67
      @artemiscool67 3 года назад +1

      @@tempeztad The VR38 is expensive indeed, but the VR30 needs time in the Z for us to know what its potential is and what it'll cost. With that said the B58 is a marvel of an engine.

    Nah I don’t care that the engine is bmw, honestly hate that the interior is bmw. Toyota could have at least put its own touch in the Supras interior instead they got lazy. Nothing screams Toyota on this car besides the badge. If you’re gonna use a power house designed by one of your competitors at least add your own touches to it instead of making them do your homework.

      They did...the entire chassis is engineered by Toyota. Drive a Z4 and this back to back. 2 completely different driving vehicles. Yes BMW builds it, but Toyota engineered it. Do some research

      @LadiesMan.217. 3 года назад

      @@ryanbrown918 yes the chassis is made by Toyota, still doesn’t hide the fact it has bmw technology in the interior. If you learned how to read my comment before commenting you would understand that I’m complaining about the interior being bmw, not chassis. No one is going to complain about a chassis whether or not it’s made from Toyota or bmw. Toyota can say how the engineered it to their own liking but it doesn’t hide the fact that they use bmw parts. Like I said though, it’s the fact that *THEY COULDN’T USE THEIR OWN PARTS FOR THE INTERIOR.* Hopefully you read this time

Third was driving it….had ZERO intentions of buying a Supra last weekend but after a test drive instantly started the paperwork.
      Also when looking, I saw used Supra’s for $55K….I purchased a new one under that. I don’t see price dipping due to MFG & dealerships aren’t building/ receiving many…if any.

    It's a little disingenuous to say that people are upset about the engine. The entire car is bmw. The drivetrain the chassis, the interior, the infotainment the gauges. Everything except for the body panels is bmw. Toyota designers had to work within the Z4 hardpoints when designing the panels. I like the car a lot and am thinking about getting one. The engine and tranny is only the tip of the iceberg as far as BMW parts go. It's a fast car ...so I'm not debating if it's fast but getting all defensive about it being a BMW and trying to justify Toyotas decisions is always amusing to watch.. I mean if Ford supplied it with the mustang's engine and an auto trans along with the infotainment etc would you still be making this video? Probably because it's got the "supra " badge slapped on it so therefore it's gotta be cool lol..
    IMHO it's a fake Toyota , a fake supra. If I'd be into BMW I could dig it but as much as you guys say otherwise, I'm just not buying it ..
