Some context behind the Genealogy track, Chapter 5 is a pivotal moment in the story, culminating in multiple massive plot points that resolve act 1 and lead into act 2. Also Marth was not in Genealogy lol, the person in the art is Seliph, the protagonist of Genealogy's 2nd act
Nice to see newer fans appreciating the past entries! Also, don’t sleep on Genealogy for its age, I’d recommend the standard battle theme from that game, as well as boss tracks like Vs. Arvis and Vs. Julius
Dang, I wasn't aware of Lord of a Dead Empire's lyrics, that's... that's _very_ fitting for the context and... even a bit spoiler-y, actually... Also, _my brother in Mila, _*_you already heard the final map theme weeks prior lmao_*
I would love for more reactions to the FE4 ost, with Disturbance in Agustria, The Lionheart, and End of Despair being my fav songs. Would love to see your reactions to those!
I'll look into those! I want to play FE4 in general too, I wonder if my reaction would be better if I got to hear the songs with actual game/story context?
@@jxfufu You know what? I think I would be more inclined to that, as the songs I suggested are much more story based than some of the others. I would absolutely love to see a playthrough of the game, or even short videos like you did with Engage.
Honestly I would like to see someone new to the Fire Emblem series react to the enemy phase songs of FE4, with zero knowledge of the Grannvale lore, but there's so much tracks there the video could be too long
twilight of the gods is the final map theme of echoes thats even better in my opinion, also, Blow'in in the wind was a song released in the fire emblem 5 soundtrack, one of my favorite songs of all time, if you havn't heard it, do yourself a favor eh.
FE4 Ch5 is the end of the first arc, as your party will get brutally wiped out. The 2nd generation gives you a fresh cast to play around with. As for the 2 versions of Holy War. In FE3, it played from Ch21 to Endgame, including the final battle, being all the chapters on the true ending. When FE3 was remade as FE12, Holy War no longer plays on the final map, being replaced bya new track, Forbidden Sanctuary, which fits better because about 2 dozen extra dragons were added to said map and they're fiendishly hard on Lunatic.
@@rngsomeone1003 Heads up, just because something is well known, doesn't mean it's common knowledge. Not everyone wants to know spoilers for things they haven't played, even if the game is 30 years old. Try not to take those moments away from people.
I would honestly say there were some tracks from Genealogy that are better by a decent margin tha what you listened to. But if I had to reccomend any you should definently try some more of the echoes ost, best one in the franchise imo.
@@jxfufu I think it's particularly neat to compare the progression of battle themes in that one. Strike and Safeguard (the standard attack and defend music), Victory Now (minor boss), Rise to the Challenge (major boss), Softly With Grace (late game boss), Everything Into The Dark (final boss 1), Campaign of Fire (final boss 2). Good to also listen to Calamity Bringer (the villain's theme) to see how it works into Everything Into. For map music, probably Inescapable Fate (late game player turn) and Darkness Comes (late game enemy turn). For others, Recollection of a Petal (my favorite variant of Lyn's theme) and Reminiscence (Ninian's theme) and Unshakable Faith (the best version of Eliwood's theme). And of course "Together We Ride" is essential.
Does anyone know if those are actually the lyrics for Lord of a dead empire? Not to sound overly cautious but there have been quite a lot of Latin songs or even songs with made up languages that people have "claimed" to have translated without knowing Latin or just making it up.

FE in general deserves much more love, especially the older titles. I'll take a look at those OSTs!

Kind of wish the original version of Door of Destiny was here, but almost every final map theme always is breathtaking 😊
Lord of a dead empire isnt actually the final boss theme of that game. It is the finale of an act of the game though!

Oh and "Pick a god and pray" is from Awakening, it's not a particularly early quote.

I'll try blow'in in the wind! And I did a whole reaction video to twilight of the gods, agreed that song is insane, I wish it was slightly longer

Thanks for the context, but also - spoilers for FE4? 🤣
@@jxfufu It's so well known. In the FE community, it may as well be the equivalent of Aerith Dies in FF7.

@@JohnDoe-kn7ex Tell that to Intelligent Systems. They spilled the beans in Engage. Absolutely shameless lol.
I can also recommend several more great tracks from Genealogy. Really if it wasn't such a time commitment I'd just say "every track in the series"

Please do!

I love Genealogy but Doorway to Destiny is honesly one of the weakest ost of the game
