Without spoiling too much, this song is from the perspective of a character (arguably two characters) after she relinquishes control over and accepts/realizes that her “subjects” were strong enough to live on without her, and that her presence was only limiting them. Funnily enough the title Heritors of Arcadia is a reference to a location not appearing in this game, but to fe6/fe7, where Arcadia is a hidden utopia where humans and *spoilers* can live together in harmony. Loved your review and analysis! If you have the time/interest the Radiant duology (fe9/fe10) has probably the second maybe third best soundtrack after Echoes/Fates. Some great tunes to listen to in your own time or a video if you’re interested are Stalwarts Unite, To My Love, Wisdom of Ages, The Devoted (this one has a really cool rendition in the first fe premium arrange), and last but not least Bearer of Hope.
Why it can be her, I feel it can also apply to the main characters or even just in general the concept of sacrificing for the benefit of future generations. You work, provide, and build, all in hopes those next in line can have things be better than what you had.
This is one of my favorite FE songs in the franchise, and I absolutely love it! I would like to see your reactions to other songs from the GBA games, with Sacred Stones having a good soundtrack
It’s a goodbye song, it hits very hard once you complete SoV. There is a running theme of sacrificing in SoV as well.

So happy to see this song covered, I feel like it's slept on over Twilight of the Gods.
