Hi RodriguezCarlitos-hd7ti , Ubuntu is still very good even Linux Mint is great . When it comes to Ubuntu just didn't like being forced to use snap packs. Kubuntu was really my favorite though . We are using ( POP os/Amd Cpu , Gpu) , ( Nobara 38 KDE (x11)/AMD Cpu,GPU ) , and ( Fidora 40 Gnome (Wayland)/AMD cpu , Nvidea GPU ) for testing. I think i wont to give Mint a try again.

Yeah, nvidia cards on linux are worse, there are a lot of bug reports on multiple forums about drivers. Radeon cards can be used without installing any drivers since it's already built into the linux kernel and is a pretty seamless experince

So it's hard to find people that focus on the needs of a PC for work too.

Hello christinecross9123. We wanted to build the pc for under $1000. it ended up being a little over $1200. The linux distro we are using right now on it is Nobara os , Kde version and we love it . WE customized kde to look more like gnome, and it was surprisingly easy. We can swop between Wayland or X11. Gaming on Wayland and digital art on X11 works seamlessly if you like. Wayland supports our tablets and works really good to. Am4 is the AMD socket we chose for the cpu and motherboard. We definitely suggest an 8 core cpu and 32 gigs of ram , An amd Gpu will be great for linux as well. I built a balling gaming PC for a friend's 2 sons, about 3 years apart, and the latest build was around $1,400 with a Ryzen 9 and nVidia RTX 3060. Sure you can do a linux build for a good bit cheaper, just depends on what you want to do :) I recommend AMD cards for Linux builds so you don't have to fool with 3rd party drivers, but that's just me...
