They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. I grew up with this great group & had a lot of their albums. Most people react to their disco era. My favorites are from the 60's-70's. Some of their early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "Holiday", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "The Singer Sang His Song", "Lonely Days", "Melody Fair", "First Of May", "I Started A Joke", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Massachusetts" etc.
Barry Gibb has such a hauntingly beautiful voice. Their pre-disco music had so much more substance than that of the disco years which aimed at an audience who wanted only to dance to the music, and not necessarily listen to it. I was privileged to have seen them in their pre-disco years, Mar. 22, 1974, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with Hall and Oates opening, early in their career.

The BeeGees were a truly great band. The brothers started singing together in the late 50's, but first started recording as the BeeGees in the mid 60's. I especially love ther pre-disco recordings, beautiful, heartwrenching songs, sung with so much emotion and soul. I bought their singles everytime one was released. My favortie was "To Love Somebody". I played that record over and over and over - drove my mother batty 😵💫
