Thanks, I probably wont do it myself but its always good to know whats involved. Good work
I always felt like that and thought I’d give it a try. The GR Yaris is defiantly an easier car to do it on.
Thanks for this, will be doing mine the weekend too on 20k now 👍
Hope it goes well for you! Having gone on around the Nurburgring the other day it definitely made a difference.
Trust me, the GR Yaris is not over-braked for track. The brakes are large, and heat soak pretty well for the first couple of minutes. Unfortunately, the cooling is insufficient despite the front ducts.
I have seen a few people really hammer the brakes, maybe I'm just not braking hard enough. lol. But I haven't felt the brakes go yet even on track. Watching back some of my laps at the Nurburgring, im not a heavy breaker!
Great job!
It would have been best to have cleaned the pad seats and pins better. Ideally, the pads and pins slide freely into the caliper. Anyway, I have done some similar pad swaps on track without following my advice and haven't had any squeaks or rattles.
The best instructional video I have come across is a bit long but very informative: ruclips.net/video/qsozrTXfHoc/видео.html
I agree that there is more cleaning to do.
Now I have broken the duck of doing my first brake job I am now more confident to do this more often and keep on top of it!
That's a good video you have linked there and also handy when servicing a car that has sliding callipers.
