    16:35 "touching" or even resting the barrel directly on anything is a HUGE "no-no" that many shooters never come to realize! It affects "barrel harmonics", basically how the barrel "vibrates" which will throw your shots all OVER the place even with a little .22 rifle. It can cause just plain piss poor groups (that are typically LOWER) because your downward hand pressure always varies or in cases where you rest the barrel directly on something for support such as a bag/rest or the window of your hunting blind ETC, the barrel will literally "bounce" upwards an unpredictable amount before the bullet exits when you shoot, causing your shots to go MUCH higher. There's another couple videos on YT that demonstrate this in detail, one is with a .223/556 where resting the barrel on something causes a nearly 1 FOOT higher impact at 100 yards!

      Please "pin" this to spread the knowledge to both old and new shooters alike! At the very least for the sake of the "Deer" we're shooting at!

    I have a bunch of Ruger guns, all good except the 10/22. As received, new, it was junk.
    I bought some after market parts on-line and polished up the inside of the receiver.
    After that it shoots pretty good.

    • @omegaoutdoors6482
      @omegaoutdoors6482  3 года назад

      Thank you for watching! I've had the experience with some rifles before. The 10/22 is just one of my favorites. But I understand what you mean!

    • @sebastianhabel7312
      @sebastianhabel7312 2 года назад +1

      That's weird. My 10/22 which I bought 2 months ago was sighted in from the factory, cycles CCI Standard ammunition (without any additional polishing or heavy lubrication) and is very accurate. The only issue it had was the bolt release which was part of the standard trigger assembly. It was finicky as hell and I really had to find the sweet spot in order to close the bolt. Then I swapped the whole assembly for the BX trigger. First of all, it is pretty shameless of Ruger not to make the BX trigger the standard in all 10/22s. But this trigger is excellent and the included bolt release, although you still have to press it in addition tu pull the bolt handle back in order to close the bolt, works much better. After 500 rounds so far without cleaning, I've had 1 failure to feed, that's it.
