    where did you buy the catalyst from? and is there any other materials to use other than catalyst and detergent and hydrogen peroxide? for the hydrogen peroxide is it fine 6%?

      I'm not sure, but at least in Sweden(ik maybe not the country you want to hear from in this matter) you need a licence for a catalyst that strong. Highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide can probably be bought from some sketchy website.

    Question is, what happens when you toss a lit matchbook into that mass of O2 bubbles?

      Hi Thoralmir, actually, not very much happens. While the bubbles are filled with oxygen gas placing a burning match, or even a burning matchbook into the foam causes only a momentary increase in the size of the flame. --Carl Nelson, Chief Scientist, Imagination Station

    i wanted to do this for a science class but I cannot seem to find 35% H2O2 anywhere .The best i can find is 30% and its in such a small quantity that it would be extremely counter-productive to perform the experiment. Any idea where I can purchase 35% H2O2? NaI I was able to find from my chemical supplier. Thanks

    What would happen if you held a flame to elephant's toothpaste. Would it all vanish in one sudden burst of fire?

      Hi David, that would be impressive if it were possible.The bubbles are filled with oxygen, but there is no fuel to combust. If you insert a burning object it will initially combust more rapidly from the extra oxygen. But, the bubbles burst pretty rapidly and then there is not a lot of extra oxygen around.

      No its oxygen gas, meaning that it is O2, just like our atmosphere, so it wouldn't be very reactive

      high concentrations of oxygen can combust if you have fire around. it's pretty explosive. like that's a risk of astronauts in space stations because the air we breathe is only what 20 somethign percent oxygen. on space stations (american ones manly it think) its like 80% lol

      Not very well, it will just dribble out of the container. 12% will bubble out like at the end. They are probably using 35% or higher, this isn't really safe for home use.

    Sooo. if you don't mind me asking... what sort of "Catalyst" did you guys use for the reaction? We all know yeast wouldn't decompromise the peroxide that fast. lol

      Because you only need the iodide from the potassium iodide, or sodium iodide.
