Best tuning video I've ever seen. So many people keep saying that you just have to keep adjusting numbers and seeing how they work, but this actually had a method to the madness and pointed out what to look for and how to solve it. Thank you!

100% Agree with you here. I've watched a handful of other tuning videos and still didn't feel like I was able to grasp exactly what to look for when tuning. I now know exactly what to look for and Stingy does an amazing job with this. His explanations are spot on and his accurate descriptions make it so much easier to understand!

Jools Enticknap nailed it. The only problem with Joshua's tuning video series, and I'm really not trying to knock him, but it's entirely too thorough. That sounds like irony, but I just want a quick and dirty in the field tune, and this video teaches that. Thanks stingy!

Best PID video on RUclips, finally someone took the time to explain what they are 'looking for' and what to adjust... Instead of all the people who clearly want to make a video about themselves, but don't want to give out any information, because they think they are in some way magical.

He said in the video how yaw go with default, and adjust if you feel the need to. If you cant figure out where to go from there. you should leave all at default and not be tuning at all honestly. You can really mess up how well your quad flys.

I've been watching tuning videos for weeks, from a lot of the RUclips quad experts, but nothing as straight forward as the process you illustrated. As a car guy that owns a chassis dyno, this looks like the logical way to start a base tune and then tweak it with some harder flying. I start tuning a car by getting it to start/run at idle smoothly, and then start pushing it harder for the final corrections.
    Great job Stingy!

I understand that every quad and pilot are different, but filming this the way that you did is perfect. you explained what you were doing and why you did it. the start numbers where great and then to watch what you did to make it pull and error was nice to see because then we see why you are thinking the numbers need to change. I have watched, over the past 3 weeks, more videos then I can count and many of them where on PID tuning. To date this video is by far the most informative. I don't have a race quad yet and I am not changing anything on my Mavic pro even it I could, but I am going to build my first one very soon. So for now I am going to use your same line of thinking and see what happens when I start changing number on a Sim quad. Dude if you only knew how much I appreciate you and all of the Roto Riot Crew!!!

I am with everyone else. I have watched so many videos on PIDs and how to tune and how they work and this is by far the most complete video for not only explaining how to tune, but explaining through sight how each effect the quad directly. Thanks so much for doing this video. Would love to see a follow up!!! I have struggled with this but I feel like I am actually starting to get a handle on how everything mixes together. I am more of a learn by watching/doing and not the method of "OK class this is what p does, this is what I does, and then D is this now go do it".... That doesn't work for me. at all.

Thanks for that information. I like watching your tuning and John's tuning vid. Very simple/very usable video! Instead of just saying 'Play with numbers until they work" you took the time to describe what each was doing and what to look for. Now, will everyone be able to see these twitches, probably not, but as they get better, they will know. I also liked the way you were listening to the quad. That is what I was doing when we couldn't see it LOS on the video. You can hear the bounces. Thanks!

Best video I've ever seen, I especially liked the way you've described P term. Finding the perfect value for P is crucial for every tuning but in a bunch of videos they simply say "bump P until you feel the kwad is sharp, but not too sharp... snappy but not too snappy....". I always felt that's wrong coz you can mask too low and high P with I and D, still the tune will never be crisp and snappy. I see lot of ppl bumping their P for the same 5" style kwads to 60 - 70+ and adding shit tons of D term to dampen the bounces.

Brilliant! Thanks Stingy! A clear, concise, easy to follow tuning guide, sure people will have different experiences but this was needed.
