I saw this today, and i agree. I was drawn in from the start. That scene with the rain and the umbrellas! I thought it was really visually interesting. I love the way tbe musical numbers were Arthur's delusions ( at least that was how i interpreted them. 😂) Great film. I might even go and see it again at the end of the Month if it's still on. 😋👍

The buzz for this movie has not been great it seems. Sometimes sequels and musicals can be a bit tricky. Will have to wait and see how it does. Might surprise us all and become another huge blockbuster.
Why do they present these films under the Joker moniker? It’s nothing like the DC comics character joker. Now it’s just a musical about a sad men who has fanatic followers and kills himself at the end. No to face or Bruce Wayne. The explosion in the first trailer is him blowing himself up in the courtroom.
This was a scripted answer written by Todd Phillips - go back and watch Todd mouth the answer as Joaquin delivers. He must really love Joaquin for doing that for him

Not feeling the excitement for this film. Not feeling the buzz online. It doesn’t have the aura like the first film had. Everyone involved doesn’t seem too excited either. That first film in my opinion is a masterpiece. I’m not really a fan of the direction they went with this. Imo, if the first movie was “Taxi Driver” that ended with him in the insane asylum, then the second movie should’ve been “One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest”. Instead, it seems like not even Phillips knows what the movie is. It was originally marketed as a musical, now they’re walking those statements back, I think the audience has been confused as to what this movie even is. And that’s hurt the momentum coming off the first movie.
I'm going to see it and form my own opinion and if the sequel is really bad and Arthur dies I'm gonna pretend this sequel was a dream Arthur was having on Arkham 😂
lost interest after hearing Gaga performed concerts while still having COVID then the stuff with Joaquin and Todd Haynes. used to like the both of them and was excited for this movie till now.
@@otkrivlenie He's completely full of himself like most people in Hollywood are. The problem is the general public has a weird obsession with actors and puts them up on a pedestal. Combined stupid people with huge egos and you get Joaquin Phoenix.
It is damn shame he walked out on Todd Haynes just days before shooting when he was the one who brought the project to him. Too scared to take on a gay role? Struggling with self-image or other mental stuff? Whatever it is, I hope he at least comes out and apologise publicly. Take some accountability at least and not pretend like nothing happened. He wasted Todd Haynes and the crew's creative effort and precious time. They should be compensated richly and receive a public apology but I doubt that's gonna happen. This will be a stain on Joaquin's professional and personal reputation and rightly so.
