    He's providing the factual, evidential basis for things that psychonauts have known for thousands of years.
    I cured my own depression through bi-weekly self medication with LSD, in conjunction with weekly therapy sessions, and self-prescribed journaling.
    I'd wait for my parents to go to sleep, Friday nights, then I'd take my medicine, and sit in my room all night writing every insight that came to me. Music was a deeply profound part of that experience as well. I'd wait a week, and on Thursdays I went to my therapist. We'd discuss the experience and what I'd learned about myself, and he'd give me things upon which to meditate during my next experience.
    It only took 4 cycles of this over the course of 8 weeks. It's now over a year later, and I've never been in a better headspace. Acid saved my life, and it moves me to tears to think that others will be able to benefit from it in the way I have.

      I watched a ted talk on psilocybin and it's treatment on depression and it too drew me to tears. Such an exciting and deeply profound feeling that depression can be drastically helped.

      ahhh mate , great little story ..
      so you basically had psychedelic therapy , that's amazing. That is exactly how it should be done, ive tripped lots of times alone, they have taught me so much about myself, for about 1 year after my first big dose, i would have tears in my eyes just taking about it , the hairs on my neck would stand up ..
      but no one really believes me , and that's the sad truth 😭.. i continue to use mushrooms 2-3 times a year,
      my psychedelic therapy is RUclips

    The story of Michael 8:50 being freed from 18 years of depression, after the psychedelic and the music, gave him the most beautiful experience in life, and that he then started to compose music himself afterwards. That is just so beautiful to hear, and brough tears to my eyes.

    Psychiatrists are always going to be "behind the 8 ball", because psychedelics work a 1000 times better when with some close friends, in a safe environment than is some " lab". They also try and tell people they have some " problem" (ptsd, adhd, add, ect....ect). Yes life is difficult a lot of the time...but please never be one of those people that say; "I`m not a victim, I am a survivor". "Bumps in the road" are there to make us stronger....they build character (= beautiful people) !!! After saying that...I wish everybody a positive Millenium 🍄Peace :)

      @@charleBerglund Hello new friend. What really helps me is that for over 30 years I have a "me hour"...once a week I shut down my phone, doorbell...ect....and I sit down in front of a mirror...and ask myself; "what has made me happy this week ?"....and I focus on these things. Life is about having fun with the people we care about...on a healthy planet (jmho). I hope you find peace of mind some day soon :) P.S; Trump is a sorry excuse for a human being (jmho) :)

    Great talk, thank you for your interesting insights in these matters. I know several people who have greatly benefitted from doing psychedelics or how they prefer, plant medicine. :) It is great that this is scientifically researched and applied. I think it could really transform the paradigm om mental health in our western society.

    • @Alfdehombre

      Just like the guy said in the talk, a save environment is created, from experience any "bad trip" is just the "bad" stuff that one needs and will confront when they see themselves more clearly while in the trip - which is a good thing and when you pass through this and you will, you will experience liberation from the oppression which are only our fixed ideas. Like the mechanics of a "Problems" is a stuck flow, when "stuck" point is made visible, one can now see how to unblock it and then everything flows like it should again. Hope this helps =]

    • @and__lam1152
      @and__lam1152 3 года назад +2

      The bad trips should be seen as challenging, they will come because it's the trauma in your life that you need to face to overcome your anxiety and depression. As humans we don't want to face this pain so we suppress that emotion, creating mental health and disease issues by storing that negative energy in our bodies. This is why when it surfaces in a challenging psychedelic journey you need to be in a safe space to work through this pain. It was 2 of the longest hardest nights of my life, but I was at an Ayahuasca retreat in Peru and it changed my life.
      Also be prepared to do your integration work post ceremony for months and years into the future, healing is a life long journey, there's no magical pill that solves everything. Just a lot of hard personal work. Only you can heal you, it's your responsibility to to save yourself. Xx 🍄❤

      Sure we might each have our own preferred songs or playlists - one thing to bear in mind though is that in therapeutic psychedelic playlists, recognisable human vocals in one's mother tongue tend to be avoided, as this will push one's emotions in a certain direction, while using music without lyrics allows for more space and dynamism in one's experience that can be more useful from a therapeutic perspective.

    • @opentrunk
      @opentrunk 3 года назад

      @@sharkonwhisky Yes, I agree with that and it's something nobody ever talks about. I've always felt that lyrics detract from music. It's two completely different things, using different parts of the brain. If I want lyrics, I'll read a book. Same story with music videos... they detract from the music itself. I'll say the sound of a human voice can be great music itself, so I often listen to the sound of lyrics without paying attention to the meaning of the words. And by the way, i don't even remember this video but i was joking about careful with that axe eugene.
