I do have the Mania and I blow the Sonos Move out the water , absolutely amazing,
Also compare to the phantom reactor, it doesn’t have as strong bass but sound mid treble is much much better

I listened to a sound test between the Mania and the B and O P6, the P6 was crystal clear and the Mania sounded as if it was playing through a pillowcase. I would choose the P6 for its clarity because that is what I value more than bass.

bought the B&O beoplay level , have had a lot of portable speakers in my time ,
the level has amazing sound and can get pretty lound without distortion ,
maybe not for the bass heads , after watching a lot of reviews i took the plunge
and was not disapointed ,

Sorry, we are not a Marshall dealer and have not heard that model. It looks like a completely different type of speaker, much bigger and looks like a PA speaker.

Comparison I agree phantom bass much stronger but sounds clarity the Mania takes the cake much better imho, also the sound stage is much larger

When we tested it we got far more bass (like any outdoor speaker) if it was near a wall of some sort. Hope this helps

If you intend to use the Devialet Mania for streaming videos on a Windows device, be mindful that the sound will come out of speaker out of sync with the image in the video. Devialet is aware of this sound latency issue but does not intend on correcting it. The latency issue will not occur with IOS devices, only Windows and some cell phones.

For Windows, you need to fix that manually (there are simple methods online). While iOS and Android correct the automatically .

How has yours held up?. Mine sounds blown after only 8 hours of play, considering exchanging but worried it’s a common issue.
Hmm that does not sound like that's supposed to happen. Ours has lasted a long time and still running strong. We'd encourage you to exchange with the dealer you bought it from.
I wonder how would this compare to the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7, Citation 200 and B&O Beolit 20🤔

How to stream in hi res with this mania? The streaming are not integrated in the devialet app and there is not upnp and not tidal connect. With airplay 2 its 16bits/44khz. The devialet mania can support 24 bits/192khz but how can i send to the speaker? Only amazon music hd with alexa? We cant use tidal or qobuz in wifi with this speaker only with airplay in 16 bits? No solution? Thanks
Where did you see it supports 24/192? We did not see that in their specs. If it does, it could be there as the DAC they chose supports that and they wanted to be ready for possible future software upgrades that might include Tidal Connect. But the Mania is really more about a very beautiful portable speaker that throws out a ton of great sound for its size. Thanks for watching
how does it sound outdoors? is it still bossy outdoors?
We did test it outside and it performed well, especially if you put it near a boundary like a brick wall. However all speakers drop off in bass output in the outdoors. Thanks for watching

But I have an important question:
I got mine yesterday, i love the sound basically, but if i listen to some tracks with an hard bass like some house or techno tracks and adjust bass/treble to plus 3 or higher and i go at 75% volume, than it sounds like the mania couldn’t handle that bass, it sounds like overdrive, like the membranes hit something or the air couldn’t get out from the inside… but that’s only with bass heavy songs, in other normal songs i could set it to +3 or so and go to 100% volume without this problem, so inreally don’t know if it’s normal because it’s simply to much bass for this thing if i put the eq to plus or if my mania is broken… 🤔
And it’s only on one side, not on the other which is strange too, but that could eventually be because it’s not exactly the same on the inside on both sides ?
The thing is, i think if the speaker would be broken, then it wouldn’t play without distortion if i put the eq on neutral and 100% volume because that’s allready bass heavy, or am i wrong ?
But at the same time i am a little bit disappointed because on a premium brand with the i think most expensive speaker in this class that shouldn’t be possible to acchieve an distortion in my opinion, even if i adjust the bass to +6!
Could you please try this song and put the bass to +6 and go about 70% so i know if i have to send it back or its normal ? The song was: „Kolter - washed away“ and i heard it on spotify via airplay
We tried it, that is a very bass heavy cut. We would suggest you listen to this one flat as the bass is already mixed so hot. There is probably nothing wrong with your speaker, just like you can't drive a car at full speed on a bumpy road and expect it to be perfect. Thanks for watching

I only spammed this because if it wouldn’t be normal i had to return it and wait for my new one which could take some time and i need the speaker in a bit over a week, so i had to do that as fast as possible so my new speaker would be there untill that date, sorry for that again! 😅

And yeah, i would listen to songs like that in „flat“ for sure, because i like quality in sound and bass, i am more on the audiophile side, that was only to test, what the mania really could achieve! Now i know it’s limits! ✌🏼
The only and in my opinion BIGGEST problem with the mania is, that you can’t use the Equalizer if you are outside without Wlan!…. So if you for example have the bass/treble set to +6 and listen with very low volume at home and then forget to put it to flat again and then go outside, you are forced to hear songs like that on low volume because you can’t turn the equalizer to flat! I really don’t understand, why devialet made the decision that you can’t use the equalizer when you don’t have Wlan… that doesn’t make any sense and for an portable speaker that’s really incomprehensible in my opinion! Hope they will add that in the future…
So for home i can adjust the equalizer and if i will go outside with my cocoon, i have to make sure that the equalizer is set to flat…

Interesting. We didn't encounter those issues. You may want to reach out to Devialet and try to reset your speaker.
I sure would like to see a comparison between the Devialet Mania and the Brane X smart speaker. They are close to the same price but almost no one is reviewing the Brane X and they should be!

Anyone use for desk top speakers with a Mac? Is there latency issues?
It has Bluetooth 5.0 which typically has pretty low latency. You should be fine Bluetooth streaming from your Mac.
Is Devialet Mania uPnP compatible?
Not at this point. The wifi works with Airplay 2 and Spotify Connect.
Does both the Devialet Mania Opéra de Paris and Devialet Mania speaker allow you to receive calls when listening to music from your cell phone???
That would be more of a function of your phone as you would be streaming from it via either airplay or bluetooth. Most smart phones will stop the stream when you get a call. But the Devialat Mania would not work like a pair of headphones where you could answer the call through them. Hope this helps
If you utilize Amazon Music (via Alexa) or Spotify (via Spotify Connect), phone calls will not interrupt the music stream.

Good job on making a video about a product without actually using the product.
We actually tested it extensively in 3 different sized rooms and two outdoor locations. We just do not believe in showing all that as there is no way you can tell how anything sounds via RUclips.

10 hours battery life, but at what volume? I doubt it’s at 100%. JBL advertise their ‘charge’ model with 20 hours, but in reality, at max volume, you will get no more than 4-5 hours

Mania software version 1.2.4 Airplay is OUT OF SYNC with the rest of the airplay speakers!!!!! Devialet KNOWS the ISSUE, but CANNOT FIX IT in a MONTH!!!!!! Buyer beware!!!
why no sound demo? i seen this company pop up on my facebook, then i seen the price of them. i guess they are made for people who go too much money.
Would definatley take a set of big old 3way tower speakers and stereo good reciever, rather then a bluetooth speaker.

We find it really difficult to give sound demos through RUclips where it will be compressed and will depend on what speakers you use to listen to it. There are a lot of variables. We really believe in listening in person if possible before purchasing. We did really enjoy the sound on this small speaker but it is not inexpensive. Thanks for the feedback. Typically we don't play audio samples because like you said, RUclips will compress it and it will all depend on the microphone use and what you are listening to it on and many other factors. This ends up making it sound different for everyone and not really a good evaluation.
Not so great reviews on this speaker, 3 out of 5 stars on Amazon. 30hz-20khz, unimpressive freq. response. $790 price tag? Come on now..
The devialet phantom speaker is absolutely amazing best word is absolutely overkill but it's amazing...saying that the stand is literally a scam it's beechwood and it's mostly plastic but has weight because 98% of it is lead and it it's absolutely not worth $350 but the only thing you can use for it because nobody makes a devialet phantom stand, and same can be said for the carry case I can't even find a video but unless you spend 3x more for a custom solution you have no other choice it's like apple but exponentially worse but for $3500 it's a beautiful speaker but the proprietary accessories make it feel like you're getting scammed and ripped off and lower the quality of the insane amazing speaker

14 Day return policy, if this was a great speaker why only a 14 day return? When companies offer 90 returns or longer, this SHOWS that they stand behind their product.

We agree it does seem short, if you purchase from Audio Advice, we offer 30 days. 90 days on consumer electronics is very rare and can lead to consumer abuse where they "borrow" equipment then return it when their need is over, creating a lot of open box gear. Thanks for watching

Yes, it is not a cheap speaker. But it certainly sounds really good and is built to last. On that note, there are a lot of alternatives in the lower price ranges that may work just as good for you!

@@AudioAdvice your argument is irrelevant. the audio compression of youtube is same for every uploader. and the content consumers are not changing speakers or headphones for each youtube video they watch. yes, it will not give us the EXACT sound that the speaker produces but it'll give a pretty good idea even thought the quality is less than listening in person. you can check out the youtube videos that your competitors upload for comparing sound of different speakers. you can clearly spot the differences, in youtube.
What an actual joke. Imagine paying 800 dollars for a portable Bluetooth speaker that's only ipx4 rated 🤣 feel bad for whoever spent money on this
While their IPX rating is not as high as some others, there is no portable speaker we have seen that is this small and sounds and looks as good as the Mania. Thanks for watching

We have come to the conclusion that sampling audio via You Tube does not tell you anything about the product. You are hearing the microphone used and your playback system over a very compressed app. So we have stopped doing it.
All this and didn’t even let us hear the sound 🤦🏽♂️
