Lyrics:
[Scratch Hook]
"How ya like me now? I'm getting busier" - LL Cool J 'Jack The Ripper'
[Verse One: Reek Geez]
Ayo knock knock (open up) let me in, where's my pen?
So I can freak it today, tomorrow see to the wind
I be sly as a fox to get props, forget cops and any other type of pit stops
And that'll have to be the way the ball bounce
When I announce I'm a kilo and you're an ounce
You can't step to this because I'm certified
You better hide or it'll be a homicide
It's Da Youngstas jacking ya better recognize to the fact
That we can rip up any track
Other crews talk but they don't want none
They know they get done
So now they on the run
Ease up Oc
I got the Glock, cock
Listen to me rock
Cause down is how it's lock
Cause we can go on and on till the clock stops
And be out for mad props
[Hook] {x4}
Mad props is what I be out for
Mad props as soon as I hit the door
"How ya like me now? I'm getting busier"
[Verse Two: Taj Mahal]
Peep the technique, I'm no joke loc
I'm so dope, you just awoke, I blow you out like smoke, nigga
How could you figure that I'm a wack MC?
But I'ma tell you right now that I'm the best MC
On the mic when I strike at 12:00 a vampire
Rap retire, I'm setting crews on fire
So listen up to the rhymes I drop
As I kick mad flavor from my verbal Glock
I
Shock the ground like volt of lightening
It's frightening, the type of rhymes I be writing
Exciting, when I pick up the mic and start reciting
You take a hike like a Viking
Taj Mahal
Won't stall of fall
Ready to brawl
I'm solid like a brick wall
So listen up to the words I say cause I spray
(What?)
Rhymes like an AK
[Hook]
[Verse Three: Q-Ball]
I'm creeping while your sorry butt's sleeping
Don't sweat the technique, I'm grim reaping
1-2, I'm coming for you, it's the Q
To the 3-4, ayo kids lock your door
So many brothers wanna act hard and dress mean
To me yo, you ain't nothing but a drag queen, fiend
Leaning with your little hard dream
Well you can't rep because I'm rolling with my Philly team
You wanna rumble?
Well you can get crumble
I didn't mumble
What's wrong, now you're humble
Mad props is what I be out for
You won't score whenever Q-Ball gets raw
I be seeing suckers disappear in thin air
Hiding there, duck here, jump there, one here, jump over there
But I don't wanna 'em to leave I want 'em to see what's happening
When I finish rapping similar to capping

Damn! I miss this era of hip hop. This group were underrated and deserve some flowers
Aww. You can look em up and send em flowers. Im sure theyd love them!
These kinda beats always make my soul feel at peace 🙌🏽
Part of that boom bap era. I'll always love it. DOPE
Golden Age Hip Hop with that Street Fighter II arcade cabinet in the back. Doesn't get more 90's than that!
Brings tears to my eyes. So glad to be from that era!
So facts man I vividly remember that game being a apart of my video game child hood.
They had their own style unlike the music of today. All three of them were dope! Damn I miss the 90's.
They'll body the migos easily with them Hard Core and raw raps.
Chris NC true but back then they had competition with other young groups like Kriss Kross, Illegal, etc. who had similar styles. It was mad competitive back then so they had to come off ruff and right.
i miss the 90s even when i never lived it rhis is real HipHop
Thanks to Treach who wrote their rhymes
Quran was the illest
Still banging the youngstas in 2023🔥🔥🔥
Their music is eternal in 2024🔥

@@emilyfurey4483
Marley Marl blessing our eardrums on this beat 🔊🎶😁.
@@HOSTILEMGTOWit was actually K Def who did the track
I miss you golden era! In the 90's is the best hip hop ever made all times...
Nothing like this era of Rap Music! This is one of the 90's jewels
Old school never gets old💯
The 2nd verse is the best imo. I was feeling young fella, especially at 1:38 rockin that crowd. Good ish right there!
It saddens me how talented they were, and raw, yet in this day and age, their music won't be the largest. It's groups like this, with raw talent, that the industry doesn't want to go viral.
TheBrandBuilder Check me out
Big facts
I know right..like Naughty by Nature, Digital Underground, De La Soul.
Thanks to Treach for their rhymes
they had mad respect in their days
Damn I miss the 90's. I get sad sometimes when I reminisce knowing that I'll never experience that decade again.
fuck i start crying when remebering these times
One2 word

This popped in my feed and something told me to play it. This really made me smile. I haven't heard this song in years! I used to love this!! Thank you RUclips Gods for bringing this to me. This takes me back to when hip hop was full of surprises. I looked forward to rapper's new releases to see how tight the lyrics and melodies were gonna be. And this group right here was underrated. They got some nice beats. #RIPhiphop
The nineties had some of the rawest rap styles, these groups from this era can still be listened to by me any day. Shout to the illy funksters to shooting this video in BROOKLYN‼️
I thought it was in philly well hey it's still the eastcoast
East Coast for life! I'm from New York....
Hector Fludd that's the EL in Philly
This was filmed in BROOKLYN on BROADWAY.... I know my borough.... plenty of rap groups filmed in other locations besides their own hood....
Yea, that train going by is the J train. that abandoned building later became Brooklyn HS for law and tech. Right on Broadway and Howard Ave. Smooth Da Hustler Broken Languages was also filmed on this strip and Pitch Black - It's All Real.
mixing and scratching are long gone in music.. these cats could rap and had barz.. salute
TR RCH wrong my man! check out Da blabbermouf LP.
Those cats kicking it oldschool like it should be!
+Blazed Again and they probably dress like ur sister too, which makes all their credibility 0
+Bumer 10 You didnt even look it up? Guess you arent the head you think you are.
Hiphop Head
I said probably which implys that I didn't look it up at that point. Makes sense..
I dont care. Just show respect for the people that actually want to bring the boombap back. Bumer 10

6 years of being addicted to old school hip hop, my life has been awesome
This is the New School though

I still want this beat. This joint is crazy.
I miss the early 90's hip hop
+AJJ314 Me too man
90's hip hop was the best Era of hip hop hands down. We had so many different rappers with different styles and content. R.I.P. 90's HIP HOP
This is a underated CLASSIC HIP HOP joint.
The 90s hiphop scene was so magical and great everyone was so different from each other

Facts, I was only 5. Mad props to these dudes and others coming up for bringing hip-hop forward
90s hiphop remains undisputed 💪💯
That beat is sick!
MTV classic rocks. They play all these old videos and I’m instantly teleported to a more simpler time in life that I wish I could go back to for even a moment in time.
l just got goose bumps. real hip hop!
LeRoy Richardaon Jr. That's a fact
I love the way the DJ is cuttin and slicin up that Jack Da Ripper by LL 🔥
Philly still rockin! 🔥🔥🔥
Essence of Hip Hop.
When society was looking for skills and passion for a culture, an art...
And not who made how much money with which evil ways, or who'd be the most psycho killer out there...
K-Def on the skratch! ... this takes me back to my teens, when hip-hop music & culture was still fresh and exciting. I still have the single on 12". It's no surprise this period's been retroactively dubbed the 'golden age'.
This is Saturday morning / afternoon hip hop. The best !
I know what you mean. 😂
THIS BEAT IS CRAAZZYYY 🔥🔥🔥
Salute From FRANCE 🇫🇷
I’m surprised this wasn’t a big song around the country THIS GOES HARD🔥🔥🔥🔥
A world lost in time....missing the 90s
They held Philly down from 93-95
Before State Property and Cassidy and Meek Mill and Jamal and Eve we had these guys
Jamal went solo in 94/95.
Samples:
The Main Ingredient - Over You
LL Cool J - Jack the Ripper (Vocals)
The New Apocalypse - Get Outta My Life Woman (Drums) 0:09
Skull Snaps - It’s a New Day (Drums)

Stop sample snitching dumbo
👍🏼
Mad Props to this shit still hitting in 2023
Every single video that I open from 90's has these numerous nostalgic heart-touching comments. I feel the same way, FAM.
You know what's so funny about Oldschool Rap? Whenever you think you have seen them all, there is a new crew or mc showing up somewhere and all these songs are so timeless. If you a real one, your head goes with the beat from the beginning. Oldschool 4 Life ❤
I love running mad props and who got the props back-to-back in my headphones for my gym workouts.... The whole vibe makes you feel something different
Both bangers from the golden era. About to do the same right now
I'm doing that now Gym life 1990s hip-hop come get down
I still play NO Mercy and The Aftermath album like its 93-94 all over again
80's and 90's had the best rap ever!!!
I STILL HAVE THIS CLASSIC ALBUM. THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM. THE BEAT AND SAMPLE IS DOPE AS FUCK.
I can play hip hop like this on and on and on. I need time and place back!
All time classic rapcity after school hits 💪🏾💪🏾
The music, the hip-hop style, the DJ cuts…..great hip hop music legends from the 90’s
This was my shit in 10th grade. This brings back so many memories from that time, the Golden Era of hip hop (the 90’s)
When you need that back in the day trak 2 get you started!
K-Def is so underrated, this is one of his best produced songs
Marley Marl produced this track.
@HOSTILEMGTOW K-Def did this one. Marley Marl produced the first single on the "No Mercy" album, "Hip Hop Ride".
Mad Props!!!!! This is the joint! These cats were heavily slept on!!!
Yep! Mainly because of Kriss Kross was getting all the mainstream attention. They even shot a couple shots at each other. Both were dope
This album was freshman year of high school. It was in heavy rotation in my Sony CD walkman.
That Ryu Fireball!! #Hadoken #MadProps ☄️
Feel like im reliving my youth through this music. This is a Classic
So slept on😴 that's its angering 🤬👊!!!!!!!.
The energy in this video is crazy!
Trip down memory lane still sounds smooth
1:02
location
1 Howard Ave
New York
Google Street View......I'm from the UK but I recognised that RKO spot from when I used to visit my family in Bushwick Brooklyn back in 91...My uncle used to live at 165 Howard Ave (on the same block where Chris Rock grew up). We used to do our shopping on Broadway. As a UK teen I was in awe of the landscape. Literally mad crews hanging outside every bodega, vacant spaces where houses once stood, sounds of gunshots at night and sirens every minute of the day. It was a friendly neighbourhood though. Crack messed things up my family would say. Irrelevant information haha. Dope track!!!!
BUSHWICK!!!
Hardest outta philly periodt.
I keep coming back to this song I can’t help it 🥴🙌🏽🐐🔥
These guys were so slept on...they had SKILLZ
Time flies. It will never be like this anymore!
This song still goes hard!!!!!!!
An angel gains it's wings every time a real song like this is dropped
THIS IS NOT OLD SKOOL. THIS IS TRUE SKOOL
I forgot about this group, I'm glad I found this❤
93-94 are Undisputed as the best Back to Back years in hip hop
the sounds from the 90s are sounding a lot fresher than today's hip hop beats.
Classic
No Mercy is up there !
This use to be my jam very underrated group
Big Props from German !!!!
this is a solid track
Shit goes hard! I finally found this song!

This Is so Eaaaastttt!! 🔥
Da Youngsters (1994) Mad Praps Good old days still good coolest music 🎵🎶
93' exciting... Yessir
Turned 17 a couple days ago and man I wish I could have been alive when this came out
You missed alot
Good on you to be listening to this. I thought only old timers reminisce... Keep digging that 90s hip hop... It is still 🔥. Peace
Do you really? No internet. I had to go to the mall to buy the cassette and held on to it like gold. Mad Props to you tho! Keep digging
Da Youngstas! As a young rap group from the 90s, they were definitely holding their own alongside the older head rappers of the time period. I had a lot of respect for them! I ran into these guys back in the late 90s at Virginia Beach on vacation with friends. They were very cool and chill.
This brought me back. I appreciate these guys. They put in work and took it serious. Beat and LL Sample is sick.
Real Hip Hop baby 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏾
Get chills every time I hear the beginning of this massive cut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Props to Main Ingredient!!!
Philly dudes . . . but the video was filmed in Bushwick, Brooklyn on Broadway and Howard Avenue in front of the old RKO Theater.
This neighborhood was super hood back then. Now being taken over by hipsters. NY 2017 vs. NY 1993. Kids thinking they are hard now have no idea what it was like back then.
I was about to say the same thing. That’s funny 😄
Word up
Yup, I used to take the Q24 down Broadway and get off by Quincy St. In front of the Associated supermarket. And walk down Grove st to my grandmas house. I still do. The neighborhood has changed a lot.
allmightantdawgs bullshit. That's N. Philly K&A Kensington. Under the EL
Nope. You can clearly see a sign for Broadway at 0:37 as well as the intersection of Broadway & Cornelia at 1:56. Furthermore, it CLEARLY reads Howard Ave on the Pool Hall window as well as the RKO theatre initials all throughout the video. This. Is. Brooklyn.
Nothing better than New York City hip-hop.
This is from Philadelphia man, still dope
@@diegohernandezceron5057 but the video is shoot from Brooklyn NYC
@@diegohernandezceron5057 you can tell from the j train and the old Rko theater
@@gregpuryear8163 This is facts cuz I didn't live too far from the J train and went to school just off of broadway up the street from where I live. I recognized everyshot in this video.
@@gregpuryear8163I guess you could say both. In other words Philadelphia meets New York right.
This TRUE oldschool!
Hell yea man
From Jersey to Seattle, Mad Props is where my heart is at!
Dam it don’t get more hip hop than this this is the best song ive ever heard
Classic!
Damn i wish Dudes go back to spitting like this
Yo, these was some gangster lil dudes back then... they better than the majority of the shit now... Golden Era
Man I miss clothes that had room to move in,90's some of the best years of my life today is 2/12/20 damn bout to turn 47 in 15 days
That's how old these young rappers are today The youngsters
I'm 53 bro
Maaaaan... I've had to scour the pages of Ebay like a mad man just to find relaxed fit anything here in the UK. I'm literally the only one I know who wears actually loose clothing, everybody else is a sheep trying to follow wack trends. I visited Dumbo across the Brkyln Bridge in 2017 with my wife, some guy told me there were decent thrift shops there for vintage hip hop clothing - no such joy. Even NY has gone to hipster bullshit..
@@TheHumanBallsack facts,damn shame
So crazy almost 30 yrs later from 1994 and there's not much a difference in Philly
Still listening in 2024! Verbal Glock
