Question for you bro. I notice there are 2 versions of the video. This one where Quran does the first 2 verses and an alternate video where Taj does the second verse (like the album version). Any reason why? I use to hear rumblings of dissension and things but that was the 90's so no real internet to clear it up. Just noticed so curious.
@@SpiritualNaz I’m sure it was real awesome too lmao now you guys make fun of my generation when you guys have memories of cheap rent ffs lmao you realize how much pussy you can get with cheap rent?

They were supposed to release the album icons in 1997 but for some unknown reason it never got released but u could find the full album on RUclips and icons ll released in 2019
By 1997 the quality of beats on the East Coast was on a serious downward trend. So a 1997 album by them would not have been all that great. Indeed, what they did record around that time but did not release does have some moments, but overall is average.

Here are some fun facts about this song and video shoot. - This video was shot on location in the Greys Ferry neighborhood in South Philly, where the old buildings were located near the overpass. - The buildings in this video have since been torn down. - The instrutmental, chrous and scratches on this song were done by Emanuel "Mentally Gifted" Parks who was featured on "Pass Da Mic" with Da Youngsta's. - Mentally Gifted is in this video with Da Youngsta's at 1:12 and 3:22. - The reason why there is a album version and a single version (as played in this music video) of this song is because one of the members "Taj Mahal" left the group to pursue a solo career. - The original album version of "Verbal Glock" has a throwaway verse from Taj Mahal, you'll notice his verse was off-topic compared to Qur'an and Reek. - The last 2 songs on the "I'll Make U Famous" album were recorded when Taj left, which was "Verbal Glock" and "Incredible". - Qur'an aka Q-Ball is the founder of the "WB Clique" which stands for "West Bandits", they appear in this video.
@@JyM-o6r I saw the building from the highway and told my producer we have to go down there... that's the video. Once inside and I saw the beam of light coming down from the ceiling, I knew this was the place
@EuphoriaMedia That's dope and yes the beam of light out the ceiling was a nice touch for this video. I reached out to your producer, Walter, awhile back and he told me where you guys had shot the video. Was the gold microphone in the video your idea too?
Listen up to the rhymes I drop as I kick mad flavor from my Verbal Glock. I - shock the crowd like a volt of lightning. It's frightening the type of rhymes I be writing. Exciting when I pick up the mic and start reciting. You take a hike like a viking. Taj Mahal won't stall or fall. Ready to brawl. I'm solid like a brick wall. So listen up to the word I say as I spray. (What?) Rhymes like an A-K. - Mad Props, Taji
