In the past couple years, I have watched this video several times. It inspired me to build a few guitars electric and acoustic, something that a few years ago I could never have imagined doing. Thanks, Tim Sway. You have proven to me that not only can almost anyone build a working guitar from scratch (not a parts-caster, but from boards and fret wire), but that a guitar can be built out of almost anything.

Well .. once upon a time a friend just drove through the harbour of hamburg to all those storage houses in search for good wood. He had in his van some pallets for exchange. The guys who ran those storage houses had no problem whatsoever when he wanted one special pallet and gave one of his in exchange. And a bottle of liquor and a tip on top. For them pallet was pallet. But he knew better. The better Pallets are made of locally cheap but sturdy wood. And in some countries that is (or was) teak or similar exotic hard woods. Pallets are used again and again and again. So it's quite possible to find a pallet that is real old and seen a lot of places.

It plugs into my compressor and fits over the nail and with one press of the trigger the nail is removed. Even though I saw it work on the video I did not think it would be as good as it is so I am very pleased with it. Love it, nice! Probably would've made the body double the thickness to have more body to the sound, but it really is just down to personal taste.

cheers. I was in to making very thin guitars when I made this batch, but I did get a little carried away.

It would give more body to the guitar but nothing to the sound.

Brilliant, a guitar made from a trash pallet - absolutely suitable for playing some thrash metal! ;)

Those thumbs down people were the ones that spent bank money on their guitars. Oh well.

And ❓ it was cheaper 🎸 than buying all that equipment and a house with a basement. 😂🎸

@@iamanovercomer3253 I don't think "cheap" was his goal.
It can be an expensive hobby, but I doubt it's the only thing he's built with his tools. In my opinion (yes I could be wrong 🤷🏽‍♂️) a person who has mastered a hobby at this level is probably good at "life" in general.
Not trying to argue with you, just kind of floating my opinion out there for discussion 🤔
