Tibetan Rites Plus

  • The Tibetan Rites have been considered by many to be a fountain of youth over the span of their 2500 year history. Accredited to practices of Himalayan Buddhist monks, they are said to harmonize and amplify the energy centers of the body, traditionally known as chakras.
A more modern, scientific viewpoint looking into mechanoreceptor stimulation shows that by moving the joints, and especially the spinal joints, one can send a huge barrage of information about the body through the spinal cord to the brain. One thing is sure: you definitely feel the energy activating effects of these 5 simple exercises. The repetitive flexing and extending of the spine in conjunction with other joints and positions of the limbs can accomplish a lot in a short period of time.
The spinal joints are more dynamic than a simple hinge joint in that they are able to move through all three planes of motion. The Rites focus mainly on flexion and extension of the spine, so I've added rotation and lateral bending after the 5 rites to make sure that the spine is getting moved in this dynamic fashion.
Especially in the current era of sitting at computers and looking down at cell phones all day long, we need this sort of dynamic stimulation in the body. Even fitness and sports minded individuals will notice that their routines don't always have as well-rounded an approach as the rites plus the spinal exercises I've added. Once proficient, you can complete the whole thing in less than 10 minutes. The very best is to do these in the early morning before food or coffee to allow the body to go through its normal waking up process, but you can do them anytime during the day. One word of caution: the energetic effects are powerful enough to keep some people from sleeping so try to practice away from bedtime.
The rites deliver more than just musculoskeletal benefits. You may notice sleeping better, a hormone balancing effect, even energy throughout the day, less pain and inflammation, better digestion and elimination, and even increased sexual health. Critical in getting the full benefit is consistent, daily practice. Changing the body once it is adapted to stress and unhealthy habits is a time consuming process and doesn't happen overnight.
Good luck and I hope you'll subscribe and stay tuned for more longevity and health information!
    Blessings,
    Dr. Tim

Thanks for watching. Sorry about the knee issue! Maybe there’s a workaround?

Good job demonstrating the 5 rites. Very addicting once you realize how good you feel after doing them.
