Hi Dino. Thanks for your videos. Love that you are supporting local retailers. The pandemic has been hard on them. I am also glad that you found a solution to keep your tank upright and out of the jeep. I have read that this is important for safety.

Hey Gary, Thank you. Keeping the tank upright is a great subscriber tip! Thanks. Cheers.

Would you consider putting the tank on your roof? I think I saw you had a roof rack in the awning video.

When using the roof rack it would be possible. I don’t use it often and I like the ease of access when it’s mounted to the tire. Cheers.

That's a great little bag for carrying the tank. Great job on the video and also your honesty when dealing with companies approaching you with products. It goes a long way when you take pride in the products you promote and not just promote everything that is sent to you!

Hey TrailWalker, I appreciate the feedback. Yeah I’ve limited to maybe reviewing a product if there’s really something to it, and not doing one just because it was sent to me. Adventure Trail Gear has a really nice product which offers a less expensive external carrying solution that those metal permanently mounted options. Cheers.

Blooper alert! My sincerest apologies to the founder and owner of Adventure Trail Gear. I, in error, said "Phil", where in actuality his name is "Nick". Be sure to check out his Blog "The Birth of Adventure Trail Gear" to learn more about him and this interesting company. www.adventuretrailgear.com/post/the-birth-of-adventure-trail-gear

Hey Dino, I was looking for ideas for mounting a 5lb tank that wasn't as expensive as a permanent metal mount. I came across AdventureTrailGear and think this will be perfect as I don't plan on carrying a tank every day. Your video was the best one I have seen so far, showing the different mounting possibilities!
That spare 1 lb tank idea is fantastic. I think I will make up a way to keep it on place other than bungees with some spare webbing straps and buckles. Thanks for the ideas!

      Hey Marcel,
I’m glad you found the video helpful. I love the propane bag mount from Adventure Trail Gear. You’re going to love it. I’m glad you liked the spare tank location tip too. Thanks for watching.
      Cheers

@@CheaperJeeperTV I checked out the 1lb tank location and realized that it only works with oversized tires. I still have stock tires and with the high mount brake light in the lower position, it doesn't fit. I'll remember this if I ever go oversize though!

Great solution… thanks a lot for the info

Keep them vertical… many tanks have internal float mechanisms which can freeze up if tank travels in horizontally. So top of time may be a party foul. ;)

Great video, but what if you have a tire delete and no roof rack?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  3 года назад

Hey JL Johnny, I guess if you were determined to travel with it outside of the Jeep, you'd need to make some sort of bracket in the location of your spare tire mount bolts locations. Great question. Cheers.

I would say it could be possible for user error , is for some reason the bag falls off the tire and some one drives over the tank and it explodes they mite blame the manufacturer and not them selves

    • @CheaperJeeperTV

Hey Bob, Interesting point. They say it's been tested for 1,000s of kms on their web site. There is similar use of straps for the trash type bags that are used quite a bit, and I haven't come across any reports of those falling off either. None the less, it's a good point to be careful when attaching. I have to admit, when I attached it, it seemed very sturdy, and those metal spring-loaded buckles seemed to work well. Cheers.

You never want to mount the tank horizontal. Tank always has to be vertical .

That was shared earlier in another viewers comments, but thanks for the tip.

      Hey Dave,
I figured it was as high as those mounts mounted to the hard top, but you're right, should it get hit, it could leave a mark! ;-)
