@@leemcb7297 Vieri scored 5 goals at France 1998. Totti wasn't in the squad. Euro 2000 - Vieri was ruled out injured. World cup 2002 - Vieri scored 4 goals and Italy were robbed. Euro 2004 - Vieri was technically past his best whilst Totti went home in disgrace after the spitting incident vs Denmark. A little harsh to judge the so called failed partnership, when they only played together at one international competition, in which Vieri scored 4 goals.
Italy won in 2006 not because of Totti and Toni's partnership, but due to being a real team. Goals were shared throughout the team - Toni scored the same number as Materazzi. Italy had 10 different scorers at the tournament.

Vieri is so underrated, few strikers can say that they changed teams and different leagues and hit the ground running like he did, tall,fast,strong great finisher I really think injuries slowed him down otherwise he would’ve scored and accomplished more

Per il Milan fu un rimpianto enorme. Ci rimasi malissimo ai tempi nel vederlo già finito e in difficoltà. Secondo me con Shevchenko quell'anno, se fosse arrivato in buona forma, poteva fare la differenza. Nonostante tutto, 2 reti comunque importanti in quei 6 mesi disgraziati per lui

Effettivamente il centrocampo non era il punto di forza (Di Livio, Di Biagio, Gattuso, Tommasi, ...) ma con Buffon, Maldini, Zambrota,Totti, Del Piero, Vieri si poteva fare la differenza anche giocando senza allenatore. Forse la colpa è del Trap perché tanti protagonisti del 2006 potevano trovare posto in quella Nazionale senza contare Baggio che ai tempi era un Totem che incuteva timore agli avversari e fiducia ai compagni.

Come si fa a lasciare a casa un giocatore come Baggio in un torneo con la regola del goldengol nei tempi supplementari? Nelle partite che si decidono col goldengol, i fuoriclasse diventano un incubo per gli avversari e Trap non aveva fatto i conti con quella nuova regola del calcio.

Fisicamente DEVASTANTE..fu acquistato dall’Inter per schierarlo in coppia con Ronaldo ma causa infortuni giocarono pochissime partite insieme. Da tifoso milanista e allo stesso tempo da amante del calcio devo ammettere che è stato un peccato non vederli insieme, avevano caratteristiche diverse complementari che si sarebbero sposate alla perfezione.
