I lived in San Fran and bike theft is big among the homeless, many steal a bike for drugs.
Vigilante Man well maybe if they moved to a cheaper too live area and applied for a fast food job they could afford to live in a house. the problem is why did that when you can just go live in the big city get free food, steal bikes and do drugs.

tips for bike security 1: use a chain instead of a cable lock to prevent thieves from cutting the bike from the rack with cable cutters. 2: use a keyed padlock to secure the chain, combination locks are easy to break into. 3: etch your bikes serial number inside a hollow part of the bike that you can get to. Hope this helps protect your bike!

I feel bad for the guy named Greg Schuler with the bikes stolen from his garage but 4 times? After the FIRST time i would have completely reinforced every single entry point into that garage.The video shows he did NOT even bother to fix the door that was kicked in and damaged the first time..That really ridiculous .Get a new door,locks,outside lighting and it will STOP.

2 road bikes here, one expensive the other $250. I would blow a gasket if someone even touched my custom $250 road bike. I have it setup where it is a silent beast!. 😞 Would be pissed to lose it.

"I don't know what to do" how about you put a better door and an alarm system in your garage? That would be a good start :) A tracking device on the bike wouldn't hurt either.
