Agreed.. most perfect machine I own. Regularly choose it over my 16" i9, just because the silence itself is worth it since I record a lot of audio. The fact that it's snappier, quieter, and is 1/3 of the price, is actually insane. I'm super hyped to see where the future takes this chip.

Am I the only person watching this from a base model M1 air, and feeling so proud of it as if is my child 😅 But yeah, switched from windows to macos for the first time with this macbook, and I'm so freaking in love with it,that people who can't comprehend the meaning of tech development behind it,frustrate me so much :v And I had to transfer some files from my old windows dell laptop to my M1(cuz I was lazy to do it on setup). And damn did that laptop fell sloooooow :v After M1 hard to go back lol.
I recently purchased the base model M1 MBA and it's my first Mac laptop coming from Windows as well aaand... wow, really wow, after what I heard about Intel MBA's and its problems this macbook is truly a blessing... I was kinda worried with the 8GB of RAM, if it would be enough or if I should upgrade for 16, but it's fine, for my usage is good, but of course 16 would be great bonus even for the future... let's see :)
I don't really see how the Touch Bar can be described as annoying. For me, it is one of the best additions to the MacBook Apple have released over the last few years. Yes, maybe it is because I use applications which have support for the Touch Bar, but even so, you can revert it back to the standard Function Keys if you want.
In every Max Tech video, there is always, ALWAYS >> "Take me somewhere unfamiliar, Bring me back to Where We Started Out" . Lost Sky is thankful to you both lmao.
I have a suggestion. Can you also do a review of this laptop from software engineering perspective? A lot of people use macbooks to create software and would be great to know how they perform.
I just ordered an M1 MacBook Air (16GB/512GB). I've proudly never given Apple my money before this, but the M1 MacBook is truly a standout. I agonized over whether to get the 16 GB RAM model but I just couldn’t justify the extra cost for how I’m using it (for office work, web, etc). Clearly the 8 GB RAM will be plenty fast for my uses. Very encouraged by all the reviews I’m seeing.

I bought a base model. Thought I would regret not getting the mini (8 core gpu As well) with 16gb ram. No regrets, performs amazing and can edit 3 streams of 4k with colour effects in final cut. Way more than I need
How does it hold up? The Macbook Air M1 base model has a crazy deal going on in my area, I'm considering picking it up to make music as well as to edit videos for vlog. Wondering do you have any suggestion?

This is the best review of the m1 air I’ve watched so far.
Great real world use cases discussed that show the power of this laptop.
Just bought one October 2023 for $729 never had a MacBook or any type of Apple Computer but I’ve had three iPads the watch and of course the phones. One thing I believe you left out was the seamless connecting between all of these different things, especially with the watch. Not having to use either a fingerprint or a Pass code. another pluses from Costco you get a two-year warranty with no extra cost.
This is going to be such an amazing laptop for university students taking notes, learning to program etc
Is it good for 3D Max and autocad?
That’s it guys... I’m sold. Sounds like I’ll be perfectly fine with the M1 MacBook Air

Yup, the M1 really does stand for the Magic One!
the thing that's funny here is that the M1 is the slowest mac processor that apple made... I cant wait for the future of macs
This is an issue actually as next year we will probably see a blazing fast M1X OR M2 which will require a new purchase even for Mac mini owners.

Thanks for the very informative video. That new M1 chip is no joke. It absolutely blows the competition out of the water, and without any fans. Holy God the technical prowess to make this thing is just impressive.
This was the very video I needed to see, I have been pondering the new MB Air for my wife, who is the quintessential user for this hardware. You did a GREAT job presenting the information, the summary up front was precise, didn't waste any time and let me just relax and listen to the rest of the video. Nice work, you have a subscriber for the long haul!
How do you think the Air would preform in humid climates while traveling? Such as Costa Rica? Thank!
I agree, I’ve used it for 2 weeks now for work, video editing, a lot of multitasking and it’s been amazingly quick. Definitely recommend
Hey, did you use it for designing like PhotoShop and Illustrator ? Thanks in advance
Wow... This is probably one of the best (and most useful) reviews on the M1 MacBook's I have seen yet! Thank you.

I haven’t been using it. I use a Surface Book 2 personally, but do professional work on Macs. I could see myself buying the MacBook Air in a year or so, simply because of the performance and battery life gains, but my Surface Book 2 still works great and I like the touch screen.
@@muffinhugz1512 ... lol. 2 weeks ...
Agreed.. most perfect machine I own. Regularly choose it over my 16" i9, just because the silence itself is worth it since I record a lot of audio. The fact that it's snappier, quieter, and is 1/3 of the price, is actually insane. I'm super hyped to see where the future takes this chip.
Does it outperform then your i9 by a mile ?
Wait wait, Vadim and Max are two different people?
I just realized that as well 😬

I had that moment a few months ago lol
Yup, I had to ask Max if he was the same person on another person before :D
i'm so glad someone else said this. When I was new to tech stuff on youtube I kept thinking "why's this guy look so familiar?"
My M1 pro arrived yesterday, I can’t get over how cool it is on my lap, had a pretty intense Lightroom session, the fan didn’t come on once but it wasn’t warm in any way, the external SSD I use was red hot though. It’s witchcraft.
I just bought the 2020 MacBook Air amd I get annoyed at how warm it gets and I don't do anything that's considered an intensive task. Honestly thinking of trading mine in for the M1. Plus whenever I use Zoom, the fan goes crazy.
Truly appreciate your review. This helped me to make a decision: switched the order from pro to air.
Ordered mine. I owned a 16” MacBook Pro and sold it before these released. Thank god!
The mic quality of the MacBook Air is stupidly good. I was mildly mind-blown until you showed how good the microphones were
and i love mac camera it looks great and natural and doesnt make my skin looks weird like other windows laptop
I have mine on order (the exact model and color), imagine my thoughts when I saw the title on this video. However this video was exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks a mill.
how is your experience with the m1 so far? 🥺
Yeah how? And what model?
I love these reviews. Energetic and with lots of facts, data and side by side comparisons. Subscribed. I’ve been a MBA user since I switched from Windows in 2011. Never looked back. Now we have M1 and the upcoming later generations of M chips. My 2018 MBA might be handed down pretty soon!
I find the M1 to be way more powerful and comfortable for long usage than the Pro, but I prefer the design of the air

Yes, maybe it is because I use applications which have support for the Touch Bar, but even so, you can revert it back to the standard Function Keys if you want.

I just ordered an M1 MacBook Air (16GB/512GB). I've proudly never given Apple my money before this, but the M1 MacBook is truly a standout. @@usafballer79 A lot of laptops including computers like the Core i9 MacBook Pro throttled like crazy. So for a fanless notebook that's doing this while using only 10 watts of power and performing at the same level of the Intel chips, that's actually damn good. Not all throttles are equal!

Great video as usual. I used your videos to make my decision. I'm in pharmacy school and only need a laptop for school to go with my iPad. I got the base model Intel Pro model with 16 GB of ram and kept getting too hot, especially around the area on the keyboard and wrist resting area, so I returned it and got the 1800 model, after that the battery kept getting drained and still got warm even though not as hot. Then I got the Macbook air M1, and it is amazing just like you said. The battery is amazing I charge it about every 2 days, and it barely ever gets warm even with charging while using and it is very fast and efficient. Finally, some new real innovation from Apple
