Extremely helpful. Love that you go through every single step, because sometimes it's easy to miss something tiny and be totally lost. Thanks very much for the great info!
Everything was helpful. I literally JUST bought GGD less than 24 hours ago, currently updating my OS to use it, but this video has helped TREMENDOUSLY!
Thank you a ton!
You definitely gained a new sub.
11/10
Would recommend
Great tutorial Very clear and concise. I love that you make the effort to explain every single step, no matter how small. Those small steps that a lot of people take for granted is where I sometimes get stuck. I was able to set this up in Reason 10 thanks to you!
Re: your question about the "FX" output.. You can change the routing for the channel pair (default st. 1) for the Parallel compression/EQ/Reverb by switching to "info view" in Kontakt. It's an "i" in a circle icon to the right of the instrument name ("One Kit Wonder - Modern Fusion" in this case). You'll see some new options that replace the GGD preset selection etc then, including a dropdown selector for "Output". After changing that, click on the camera icon ("snapshot view") next to the "i" icon again to get the old view. And don't forget to restart the engine via "!" so the changes get applied.
Hey, I'm having an issue with this playing in my piano roll, what could i have done wrong?
Thank you! You don't waste time, very helpful everything you say!
So, to get rid of the FX channel, click on the "i" by the camera icon, and in the output section select "create separate master channel" this will apply the FX across the output channels but give the initial channel to the kick isolated. Cheers!
Awesome video man. Thanks for going step by step. This made it really easy to understand
Wish I had your insight when I first did this with Superior Drummer years ago! Awesome man. Thank you!
Thanks for this video man! That whole "st 1" with the effects thing was been my biggest issue before this video, I've always been wondering why there's so much snare reverb on my kick drum with I multi out the kit. You pretty much explained it and now its clear to me now!
So helpful for my mixing project.
It's the best of all RUclips.
Thank you so much !
Extremely helpful video - thanks so much!
This video was beyond helpful, thank you
Dude, thanks!!!! That’s so helpful! Keep it up :)
this was really helpful! thanks!
Great video, very helpful! Thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Super helpful video
I was literally going crazy because it didn't work in Reaper...until that esclamation mark tip...that was GOLD
thanks, you helped me walk someone through routing this bad boy!
Thanks Pat!
Very helpful!! Thank you!
This video saved my life, Thank you sir
Very helpful, thanks dude
Came here from 2022. Thanks for the info, it helped a lot! To get around the FX using the "master" channel. I created a "Summing Track Stack" after highlighting all the individually tracks and it works just as intended. All tracks summed to a master with all individual routing maintained. CHEERS!
This was extremely helpful! That FX output was super frustrating as this is my first multi-output routing attempt with Kontakt. Was really stuck until you helped me out!
Big thanks, Man!
Thanks a lot man!
thank you!
Thanks dude!
Good stuff bro
You solved my problem thx
OMG THANK U
Thaaaanks
This is great. I was wondering why I kept hearing other bullshit in the first channel out even though I thought I only had the kick routed through there! I kind of wish GGD made something like that a little more clear.
I just got Modern & Massive and I would like to have 10 mono, 4 stereo tracks in Logic so I can process the raw drums myself. Is this possible, as I have had no luck?
Okay so I'm stuck at the part where you are adding aux tracks which I can't figure out how to do. I don't have the - and + sign on my instrument track in order to add more. Help please!
Thanks man, I "Wonder" 😅 if there are royalty issues with the kicks.
which os are you using?
catalina or high sierra
Has anyone figured out to have the Aux assigned as the main drum track channel? As per the tutorial I have the Parallel/Master EQ as my main channel on the track and when I mute the track, it only mutes the effects. I still need to mute the aux channel from the mixer window to mute the whole drum track.
I dont get any st. 1 etc options in Kontakt, only Output 1-4. I clicked on multi out, I even clicked the exclamation point. It doesn't even have one single stereo out to choose. What am I missing??
Only problem I have is when I bounce out all the tracks, the left and right crashes are center panned in the overheads. Not sure what I'm doing wrong exactly. Lol help?
I'm slowly learning all of this stuff, but isn't this just the same as busing all of the pieces of the kit from the midi track?
Hey my dude! For some reason assigning them to the outputs changed nothing for me - anybody have any ideas?
Great video but what about the cymbals?
This was extremely helpful, thank you! My only question i have after this, how do i save the multi output, so that i dont have to add effects to the channels everytime i drop this into a new project? Because it's working great, but i don't want to have to add every effect every time. Let me know if you can help!
A project template would come in handy there
@@joelaul literally after I finished routing everything, I made the template, so i guess I made the right choice, thank you for getting back anyway!
Anybody else experiencing an issue where you completely lose the room and overheads once you start routing? Like they're there but there's such a significant loss of volume they might as well no even be there
as soon as I clicked add 16 stereo tracks and save as default I lost audio from the kit
can you do it in Cubase 10.5 and make a tutorial? only modern fusion
Unfortunately I don’t own a license of Cubase... I just started learning Reaper, so I might be able to do that soon, but I’m really not familiar in Cubase. I’ll ask one of my buds who uses that DAW.
@@PatFlanigan thank you so much!! im starting with cubase ...and its so hard...i used FLS for about 5 yrs..
Jesus christ, thank you
Dude, your style and communication is great. Get the the point quicker, and put more emphasis on key points is all i'd say. e.g) The exclamation mark is absolutely essential for this to work, but you just kinda said 'I'm telling Kontakt I made some changes'.
When routing this kit you lose a bit off punch and kick. Not sure why, since all the instruments are routed in individual tracks with same levels, also effects and OH and room as well.
I also discovered that the kit suddenly stops playing. Must be some CPU overload. I have a fast computer and never trouble with any drums software before this.
Avoid. Too bad, it was a good sounding kit from the startup.
can I do this in Garageband???
I stopped using Garageband a couple years ago, so this response may be wrong, but from what I remember GB was too limited in terms of routing to pull this off
The reason i watched this was exactly what i thought i will see you do. It' true and it's strange. But the master and reverb are forced through st1 at all times.
Still only getting the option to route the tracks to st.1 in reaper. Video helped me in other ways though.
Click the exclamation mark "!" icon top right in Kontakt after any routing changes. For some reason, only then will GGD offer the other channels beside st.1 to route to. Had the same issue and it drove me nuts, but Kontakt's engine restart via "!" is super fast and does the trick.
@@zendakk Thanks homie! I ended up getting it up and running that day all the way but I'm sure someone else needs this answer.
The owners of GGD have already done this.
I think that the way that you did the routing in this plugin is the only way you can get the drum samples without the processing.
if you assign the kick to chanell 2 , snare drum 3 etc.....you can get the raw samples.
Also you can check the end of the video below...ruclips.net/video/N1HnQLYt81A/видео.html
damn how do i do this in reaper, i only get 3 outs
ruclips.net/video/vLef_bbQT44/видео.html
This is for reaper. If for some reason you still can't get multi outs and only get 3 outs, follow this next comment, which refers to the linked video not the video that you currently commented on
Alright I have the solution.
1. Load kontakt like you normally would, ad he shows. Follow all the steps shown in video until you open the output assigning window.
2. Choose quantity of outputs as 16 and number of channels as 2, same as in the video. Enable ascending output assignment and delete existing channels before creating new ones. Till here it's same as in video.
3. BEFORE YOU CLICK OK, also enable the "make this your default configuration" checkbox in the output window. Click ok.
4. Close the whole thing(or you can delete all the tracks including the one with KONTAKT open on it)
5. Restart kontakt as he does, and you should have the outputs that he selected. You probably still have to do to 16 outputs and 2 channels in output window, but now everytime kontakt opens, it'll open like his does.
@@swayamtailor Thank you this fixed my issue even though I am using logic. I kept seeing Output 1-4 and no stereo channels whatsoever. Doing what you said fixed this! Hope anyone else with this issue finds your comment because it took me a while, no video I saw (even the GGD official ones) mention this bug. ☺️
Oh and fwiw when I reopened it did not remember the 16 tracks I had assigned to "output 1", but all I had to do was open the plus sign pop up again and the stereo options were now in the drop down. Wth!
I wouldn't feel weird at all man I'd much rather route it all out into single channels and mix it myself I dont really care what it was intended for and I'm much more proud of the drum sound if I did it myself
kinda funny how you say this lib isn't made for mixing when 99.9% of the metal industry uses GGD programmed drums lmaoo
Horrible interface and super un-intuitive. I have never had problem routing drums before but this Kontakt shit and one kit wonder is made by programmers who has sit in their basement for too long.
Thanks Pat!
