We at GGD are elated to introduce One Kit Wonder - a series of drum libraries inspired by the many GGD users who use our drums for songwriting. In the creative process, it’s crucial there is as little time wasted between the moment inspiration strikes, and how important it is to capture and hear your ideas sounding polished and professional as soon as possible, so you stay excited as you develop the ideas further.
And this is where One Kit Wonder comes into play - each kit is captured to the same level of detail as our other libraries, BUT they’re also fully mixed and ready to go so you can dive straight into the writing process, with your ideas immediately sounding amazing.
This particular kit, One Kit Wonder: Modern Fusion is inspired by contemporary progressive fusion artists, where the music demands a clean and glossy drum sound that nevertheless retains an organic timbre and wide dynamic range. You’ll find the snare and toms are punchy but musical, while the kick can deliver piercing attack or solid thud depending on the dynamic range you utilise. The cymbals are shimmery and hi-fi, but also have an underlying dark complexity and touch-responsiveness.
It’s our hope that this sample library will remove frustrating barriers in your creative process so that you can enjoy making music to the fullest.

Small criticism on the UI: the buttons for Parallell, Master EQ, and CPU settings darken when engaged which is confusing and non-intuitive. I think the buttons should be dark when off and brighten when engaged like the mute/solo lights on a console

That tripped me up with their OKWs at first, I think it's cause it's supposed to represent a button being pushed down rather than being turned on, or something
mix ready, what a god send. I cant tell you how many countless hours I've spent over obsessing over drum tones in my mix. it becomes a burden because I become more focused on that than the song writing itself.

Awwww, these just sound so nice! I blend them with P4 and I just love it! P4 gives me that big, roomy Rock sound, while Modern Fusion has this beautiful natural sounding attack on it's own.

Love this kit! The snare and specially the toms sounds crazy, super polished. Would be awesome to have pan control on the toms so I could "place" them as I have them mounted on my e-kit though
You should be able to route each piece of the kit (kick, snare, tom 1, tom 2, etc..) out in a DAW on their own dedicated tracks as you should be able to pan each piece left or right as needed.
@@kevinblaz6608 Hi! Thanks for the advise, I ended up doing that, but in the comment I meant that would be awesome to not have to open a DAW at all, just Kontakt standalone and that's it, like I do with the other kits for practicing or jamming with my band

I'm using ableton please help! I don't know how to send these drums to the audio channels I've created for them, anyone have a video link or a forum?
How do you route with this plugin? Everything is sent to one channel in my DAW currently, and in the mixer channel I can only choose st.1
Hey Nolly, it would be great if you put together a Logic Pro (and other DAWs) mix template that is setup for various GGD drums with your bus routing and just stock plugins and settings that can later be replaced with others such as Smash and Grab etc. I’d buy something like that.

I would love to watch how do you get the raw Drum tones (mics, tuning, head selection, coustics) because they sound absolutly amaizing, even if a have to pay for a lesson i would do it. Always Great sounding drums
Nolly and Matt did a massive Creative Live class in 2016 doing exactly that! They go from Matt's kit, how to tune toms and snare, drum/head/cymbal choice, mic choice/placement and comparisons, engineering, muffling, full mix, $34 right now for the entire course. Even though it's a couple years old, from what Nolly shares, his philosophies and techniques for everything with drums is essentially the same. He even has a youtube video for tuning toms and snare on the Drummers Review channel, which is the same (slightly more condensed) as the Creative Live.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I've never used software like this before.
Do you create the drum tracks from scratch? Or, do you use something that is already made, like a preset, and then mold it to how you want it to be? Seems like it would be labor intensive to create every single beat.
Maybe a stupid question (I'm brand new in the midi drum department), does this drum sample would work in SONAR X3 Producer?

very concerned about a dry mix. I need dry hi hats for retro funk fusion. How dry and dead can I get this for the traditional fusion sound. aka addictive drums vintage kit pack or new modo drums
If you were to "play" a kit thru a MIDI keyboard, does the plugin quantize your creations for accurate time, i.e. correct to a specific BPM?

the plugin only takes over the parallel compression and an EQ in the masterbus when required. the individual mics for kick snare etc. behave normally and have to be individually mixed with eqs and compressed. is that correct or does the plugin also do the process beforehand?

Bought this today. However the GUI doesn't load. Also there's seemingly no support for any queries either. Could anyone tell me how they loaded up the GUI in KOntakt player this is hella frustrating
In the mix I barely hear cymbals, it's like too much compression goin on

Amazing kit but crashed rides are integral to getting that awesome soundscape swell. Luckily I have invasion (which is insane by the way) but I'll think twice before I throw this at my friends. Oh and snare articulations would be amazing. Then again, this is clearly cheaper than the other products so I understand if you guys were purposefully simplifying to segment your market! it sounds great.

@@ranieresmusic I own this and use it regularly, I still use the extra articulations from other kits bc they are a lil limited in scope on this, which is fine for the price. Just would rather rec one of the non OKW kits to people who play a bit of drums or have worked with other articulations before.
Can you guys do a quick 30 second tutorial on what you settled on for your master EQ so we can put it on our master busses?
You can check the Master EQ in the Kontakt settings, click the wrench icon on the left side and scroll down to Insert effects, The EQ has the typical Nolly settings.

Hello! I’ve a silly question. I’ve heard a lot of amazing comments about GGD. But I’m still out of the blue. Is a vst plugin or it’s a native instruments one? (Base on the shape in the top of the drums screen) thanks
It needs kontakt player in order to use them in a daw. Dunno if that answers your question.

Installing and assigning this to Multichannel instrument has been one of the most difficultest plugins i've ever used. Its super easy in Superior Drummer 2 but this is just something else. I have used loads of virtual instruments and loads of plugins....and this really takes the first place being most annoying. UI is fucked up...i tried both 32bit and 63bit....and its just sucks. Best when you get notifications behind the Kontakt app and you just cant click no or yes becouse Kontakt player is stuck on top of it. GGD please try to make this work. I loved the price, its cheap... but like the Zilla Cab sim it has the functionality of a cheap plugin.
That stereo output is not option for me, i want saturation and EQ on OH, snare and kick becouse these virtual instruments never sound like real drums so you always have to put something to make that plastic go away.
