So beautiful and reaches deep into my soul. I'm not Lakota but all of us Natives are of one tribe. We are all brothers and sisters.

what a person looks like doesn't matter. How a person feels, how a person feels for others, knowing right from wrong, ethics, morals, empathy, love - that is what matters.

In 2001 I was honored to dance with the Lakota, I will never forget and I will always love you all so much for all I learned that day. I am from Dull Knife/Morning Stars' family.

I have long been drawn to Native American music and culture. I feel a connection with the earth and all living things. I feel recharged, peace in my core, when in contact with nature. I am trying to learn the Lakota language, as I find it beautiful. I want to learn all that I can, as I'm ashamed of what Whites did to this incredible culture. I find this music soothing, the voices restore me.

My Grand Father tells a story about his Grand Father and a settler. He had fallen into water on a winter day. He was found by a farmer who took him in, gave him a bed, got him warm and doctored him. Even sent for the doctor to care for our ancestor, we are thankful for the kindness of the settler. He tells me that a great number of settlers were kind and lived quietly beside the tribes.

Brought me to tears! I'm half Native, Lakota Sioux. My mother's from Wounded Knee, SD. Learning about my native heritage has brought new meaning to my life. We always take a trip to Rapid City every year and on the way back, we stop at Crazy Horse! Always brings me to tears when we leave this monument!

This is to all people of Native American descent, for a while I have been thinking of leaving my life and past behind and move to a vast open peice of land and trying to restart like our ancetors did, maybe one day we will have a pure Native American culture again and hopefully we can connect to the Great Spirit like our ancestors once did. Please pas this on to other videos that many of us Native American people watch

I think the lesson for right now is that we must connect to the land and to our creator wherever we are. Right now. To care about the Earth beneath the concrete and asphalt as much as we care about the land under the sky. Then we can transform life for all living beings.

I knew very little of my father and it's just way things have turned out and I'm ok with that but still I search for something something I have found hard to find... my father... was adopted.. I say this with tears because when I was little I was told I could be part of even some even just a pinch of native american and as young as I can remember I held on to that I loved the native culture and I longed for it at age 7 to 8 I was watching dances with wolves longing to be in his place dancing in the living room like they did on the movie not to make fun but to be a part and it was also by this time that I was collecting anything native for christmas and that year I got two big great amazing native paintings one was of a man who's eyes were not cold but stern his face was painted half black and he had from what I can remember a mohawk and feathers in his hair the other large picture was of a woman standing next to a white painted horse and behind her was the open plans her hair was long and flowed in the wind I also had native rattles for baby's and different other things as well like native vase and such you see I longed for this place but was never able to find it and it was only when I got older that I realized what had happened it was in my older years that I realized this "place" these native lands had been lost... the culture is still strong but sadly it is not what it use to be sadly a lot of it has been destroyed by greed hate fear and so much more and what's worse is that this place inside my heart that ran through my veins this place that carried and held a possibly part native girl was destroyed as well that is... when I learned that my grandfather who is passed and who everyone thought might have been native american was really from englend and so it is that the native little girl in me slipped away but not completely because though I don't know about my also passed away grandmother on weather or not she was native i mean probably not but who knows.. maybe right? I'm not really sure and I don't know if I ever will be sure still I wish I knew but let me tell you though the native girl in me had faded over the years weather I am native or not these songs and anything native really always brings her back I have no idea what she looks like how tall she is or what color her eyes are all I know is that in mist of the drums and the dancing inside my heart you can still hear her cry.... a cry to be found....... thank you for this... tears only say what the heart is feelings and these words are spoken through my tears may God bless you all.... thank you

Wonderfully put. I have always believed(based on my own convictions)that there is one GOD and while we call him by varies names we are all children of the same CREATOR.
I have always greatly admired the traditions, languages and culture of the original Americans. It is my regret that the government of the times never understood or respected what they could have taught us.

I am what some would call a white man.
I am the earth the wind and sky just like the rest of us. This song has been a great source of healing for me.
Mother earth holds out her hands to all her children.
I am ashamed of what the white races have done to her it brings me great sadness.
I find comfort in noing that she loves all peoples and all colours I just wish people would break from the mindset that only native americans have this bond with her. My heart is hers.

The mistakes of the past are not the fault of the generations of the present. We have the opportunity to create our own future where we can learn from our mistakes, it's up to everyone of us to do just that.
Generations upon generations of Native Americans have fought with bravery and honor to defend this country with all of it's flaws.

I've read a lot of books. Probably more than you. Science makes everything depressing. It might be emotional, and I dislike religion, it's one of the few things that keeps most humans from being depressed. You're so close-minded. And childish insults don't help your case either.

Actually, isn't the other way around? The unknown is scary, which is why things like science came into being. And where did this "religion is a choice" crap come from? I told you I'm not religious. Well, whatever, seems you're done with the insults now.

Its just our culture, alrright? This is meant for spiritual healing. Science still can't prove what entirely what the human body is made of...are we not allowed to cling to our culture, which is slowly being lost?
