My kids used to make me mix CDs to share their musical discoveries (or just to conglomerate a bunch of songs they likes). My first introduction to this song and Poets of the Fall was on one of these CDs. I fell in love with the music (especially the vocals). I have not done a deep dive, but I do own one album and a few other songs have made it to mix CDs. When that same child discovered Old Gods of Asgard, he played a song for me to see if I would catch that it was them. I did. I got an Old Gods of Asgard T-shirt for my birthday. LOL. Something with an 80’s rock vibe? Choice Millionaire. Or another bittersweet ballad? Moonlight Kissed. All of them to be found on their official YT channel. As you can see, Poets of the Fall are a rabbit hole to explore, but no matter what you choose next, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely pay attention to the wonderful poetic lyrics as well, and you’ll discover that they’re not only superb musicians, but that the band name is spot-on and justified.
