I met Poets of the Fall in 2006 through a song not many know about, Illusion and Dreams, and this one is another example of amazing songs they have that are not so known for those who mainly follow the official videos.

Oh I'm so glad you are going to be getting to more of these guys! Since I first heard their music I've been struck by how utterly raw and genuine Marcos voice is and how utterly good the rest of the band is that support him! I think you said it really nice, "pleading" it's a really good term for it. There are so many great songs I'd love to have you react to! But in general if you ever want an amazing album, listen to the Alexander Theatre Sessions, it's a full acoustic album of some their most amazing songs and really lets his Voice just shine!
That deliberately slightly shaky "This is my line" in that song always gets to me. Thank you for continuing to react to this criminally underrated band. They deserve so much more love and attention. I'd like to recommend my personal favourite song by them, "War". The crescendo in that one is amazing. Incidentally, they do also do "harder" stuff, especially under their alter ego band name "Old Gods of Asgard", which is the name they use when writing video game music (Alan Wake 1 and 2, and Control). Enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole!
