I think you’ve probably done the reaction to We Don’t Talk about Bruno. That was Ashley Diane in that one as well as If I Were Rich Man, Running up that Hill, and quite a few of their minis. One of the things that always surprises me is how much more I pay attention to the lyrics when VoicePlay does a song. I’ve heard this song a lot of times but I never really realized that it’s pretty much about a break up. When I first watched it I couldn’t figure out why they kept showing them together then alone. When I went back and paid more attention to the lyrics I realized that it’s about losing your love.

oh, you got to this one! I love this song so much. i mean, with Poets you can't really say they have a single style or anything but the first time i heard this, it was like - what the fish? then i had to start the song over again and hunker over the screen intently because now i was prepared for how fast those lyrics were coming. i think the vibe is great and the message is couched in really erudite language - but man, that chorus is catchy as heck!

The pendant he gives the girl near the end was given as a replica with the album "Jealous Gods", was one of the nice times to get a deluxe edition. Still wear the pendant quite often. At first I had the song wrong, I thought choice millionaire in the sense we were chosen to be here/alive. Only later understood is choice millionaire in the sense we can choose to change things we do not like.

Oh, you really need to check out more with Ashley Diane - start with 'If I Were A Rich Man/Girl', it was Cesar's first as a full member, and he suggested her for the part! Apart from the others already mentioned by @christinestromberg4057, she has appeared in numerous 'shorts', maybe you could do a few of these in one video? By the way, love the tan! 🥰

Ashley and Cesar made a gorgeous, lovely couple but it wasn't to be. Loved the Spanish verses. These 2 have been friends since childhood in Puerto Rico.

I have said in the past (and will likely say again in the future) that listening to/watching VoicePlay is equivalent to retrieving a soft cozy blanket, fresh, and warm from the dryer, and wrapping it around your soul on an otherwise chilly night...😊

This year, Eli has been in the rotation with Layne and Geoff to head projects. I love his setting for this video and I love the depth of emotion that his projects draw out. He had Cesar do the costuming, but he filmed all the incidental footage with a handheld camera and Layne’s help with lighting (it was Layne’s hand you saw handing out the bear).

Ashley is an old friend of Cesar from Puerto Rico, She has appeared in VP" Running Up That Hill, If I Were a Rich Man'Girl. We Don't Talk About Bruno, to name a few. The Spanish version of this song was very popular in Puerto Rico so they included a bit of that here.

This song always gave me the feeling of yin and yang and the lyrics are always so special, so deep and true. I really love every song by Avi. It won't be long now and you'll be even more amazed than before. 😅🥰

Avi harmonizing with the cello is my absolute favorite part of this wonderful song! This is one of my favorite songs from Avi, but unfortunately he has said that he won't perform many of the songs from the Sage and Stone EP live (unless he is ever able to perform with orchestral accompaniment as it just wouldn't feel the same). The "Fields" in this song represent the part of California where he grew up, while the "Pier" represents LA, where he moved for his musical career. It captures how much the nature of his upbringing is ingrained in him (and brings him peace), and the struggle of leaving to do what he also loves in his music. When he left PTX, the reason he moved to the Nashville area is because it is the only one of the major industry music locations which allows him to still have access to the wilderness whenever he needs it. He even gets to live in the middle of nowhere while still remaining close to Nashville. Sorry about writing a novel. P.S. are you going to name the new microphone Mini-Mike, and give him tiny eyes?

This is something you really need to react to. Back in 2019, Avi wrote a song called "The Seed", but he wasn't going to perform it himself. He wrote it for the full choir at A Cappella Academy, an annual 10-day intensive vocal music camp for kids from 12 to 18 from around the world. Avi co-founded ACA in 2014, together with Ben Bram (longtime PTX producer/arranger) and Rob Dietz (composer/arranger), and all three men give their time and mentorship every year to these kids. As you watch the video, you can see the love and respect the kids have for Avi and the song (which was co-arranged and conducted by Rob). Even a few tears and hugs at the end. Obviously this was recorded and filmed before Avi left PTX. If nothing else, you can always tell by his hair and beard. In the bridge where you talked about the humming, it's both Avi's voice and Kevin's cello. Kevin had to tune his cello way down in order to match Avi's basso profundo.

Every video from Alexander Theater Sessions is absolutely perfect if you want fully acoustic version. If you want the version with original instruments for each song, then these are not the correct choice. I would always recommend checking both original album release and the Alexander Theater Sessions version. For this specific song, I much prefer the version from Alexander Theater Sessions.

I read a bit of background info they posted on this song and apparently that bit echo-y drum sound they use during the song was an 80's thing as well. So the 80's vibe was definitely intentional and it worked so well! 😁 As others have mentioned, the French version of this song is amazing as well. I remember when it was released as a surprise thing people in the comments were like: "Marko can even sing in French? And here I thought he couldn't become any more awesome" 😆

Notice the dial phones/pay phones? Song is bumping 50 years old. Phone pranks were bigger then, before cell phones & internet. Arcade style video games were a new thing; it was a different world, where folks didn't have all the entertainment choices that exist now. Videos were put together 15-20 years later.

Insanity makes it hard to follow. It wasn't one of his best, imo. Videos were added MUCH later. Recommend 'Mississippi Squirrel Revival', 'It's Me Again, Margaret' (love his silly giggle) & 'The Haircut Song'.

I dont know if you want to react songs without videos but ”Hello Cabaret” from their last album is the one you should.
