He says contradictory things. He says multi camera has more dialogue and less description so it should be less pages. I think the reason multi camera is more pages is because of the extra spacing.

If that's what I said, I misspoke. Multicamera scripts are always more pages. A thirty minute comedy multicamera will be around 45 pages where a single camera comedy will be closer to 30 pages. Sitcoms in general (as well as TV overall) are more dialogue driven compared to films. I'll have to rewatch this. Thanks for the feedback.

    What's a Brad?

A brad is a brass piece that might look like a nail or pin. Go to Google images and type "brass brad" and you'll see what it looks like.

Can you explain the “two Brads” again..I just DON’T get it.

I'll assume this is a serious question. When binding your scripts, you should only use two brads even though the paper is three-hole punched. You only use two brads in your scripts primarily because it is industry standard (Hollywood). When you put a brad in the middle hole, you look like an outsider who doesn't work in the industry. It's industry standard for a variety of reasons. It's wasteful to use three (only need two), it's more efficient (imagine the poor assistant bradding a hundred scripts), and it's cost effective. Half the battle for a new screenwriter is to be taken seriously. When you do things that make you look like an amateur, you give those in power a reason to ignore you. Using only two brads is one small step in the right direction.

Larry David- who co-wrote seinfeld believed that funny always trumped Character and story.

When you're Larry David, you can probably get away with that. Plus there are always exceptions to the rules. My recollection of Larry David's work is that he's pretty good with story too.

Google brad clips hole punch and look at the image. It looks like a clip with a thumb tack end, with two wires that bend apert to hold the pages together.

@@MrParkerman6 That's the problem with sitcoms and why I stopped watching them after Seinfeld, they aren't funny. Like he said Friends was more cute than funny most of the time. Big Bang in not funny at all it's inappropriate laugh tracks. come on in is not or i bought you a gift is no a joke, why put in a laugh track. Grover JOhnson is not a joke either, but that was a promo for a new unfunny sitcom.
