Not sure if it’s been suggested but could you break down something more recent like Atlanta? It’s a “comedy” but there’s so much nuance in such a short script but also in the filmed episodes.
It’s what I’m personally trying to emulate but not copy. Your style of breakdown is insanely in-depth and wonderful.

What would you say distinguishes a funny character from a non-funny one? A character can be real, profound, well-designed, but still not funny. Others are designed to be crazy or wild but end up feeling plastic and don't come off as real.

Hi. I find this video while I searched for "how to write a sitcom". This video is informative. I would like to know if there is any standard book on writing for sitcoms. My fav sitcoms are tbbt, two&half men, that girl, the fresh Prince of Bel air. This is my taste. Please suggest me sitcoms which are similar to aforementioned sitcoms. I'm really looking for a book which is about sitcom. From India🇮🇳

You kinda lost me in rule number one. 30 rock doesnt have the best story, or characters, or theme, its all about Tina Feys relentless machine gun jokes thats good in 30 rock. Tina Fey is weekend update host, its the most joke filled segment in SNL meaning its all about jokes. 30 rock has the most jokes per minute of any sitcoms. All I'm saying is, 30 rock is all about the jokes and its the best example of a sitcom focused on just being funny not the story not the character arcs, etc.
