Depending on the type of sitcom (single or multicam), the scripting is completely different. A single-camera script will look similar to a drama script, while the multicam script has a completely different style. If you're writing a spec script for a show currently on the air, you should get a copy of that show's script and mimic everything about it. Each show has a little different style depending on the showrunner's preferences. If you are creating an original show, the style of formatting you use will indicate to the reader if it's single-camera or multicam. I'm a firm believer that sitcom writing is harder than drama. Not only do you need to convey the story, but you have to be funny, and that's a very difficult skill.
Here's my superhero sitcom idea, it's basically a Friends rip off, bare with me please, it's just a few seconds off your precious time: Six, or whatever the number, age or gender, close friends try to balance between their personal lives and their secret, superhero identities or secret powers, each one keeps his/her secret identity or power to him/herself and that creates havoc and funny situations that go haywire almost every single time they try to get together and relax. They laugh at superhero stuff like comics and movies although one of them was once or still is a comic book creator or involved in the superhero business somehow. They all hang out at the Hero's Hutt or something like that, hope u like it.. That's my idea and I take full credit, if somebody else has already thought about it I'm not responsible for the leak..This thing could be the next huge sitcom if done right..
