- We are sorting Dexter cattle, and look what I found! We rarely see these around our farm. We have lots of other work to do today too: moving the layer flock, putting broiler chicks on pasture, moving the cattle to fresh pasture, and visiting with the pigs. It's another fun workday on the farm!
Note:
-We do not offer farm tours or accept visitors
-We do not ship our farm's products
-We do not sell live animals

The hens were so eager to get out of the bus. Reminded me of my students when the dismissal bell rings!
Reminds me of the clown car at the circus!
I can't stop laughing.
Our local farms (rural SE WI) sell roadside self-serve eggs from $3 - $4/dozen. Some place little stickers on the carton indicating the "laying date". Brown color and delish!
Great job Hilary, that sorting is hectic work. You 2 are fortunate to have each other, a good farm couple is truly a gift.
We never had such fine pasture grasses for our herd, but you're right: hearing them feed and listening to their legs push the grasses aside sure is relaxing. Couple that with the birds and the wind and you're in for a calming experience. Thanks again for today's video, Pete.
Ok. I have to confess. Watching those hens cluck and scramble out of the trailer was completely smile inducing! They sounded so excited to greet their new pasture.
Now that’s the way to raise chickens. For the hens and the land. Everyone and Mother Earth prosper! Excellent job you guys
My hubby is a farmboy, we don't have enough land, so we just keep a couple or three hogs every summer and get chickens from family. We both INSIST that the animals be treated in a humane way, I see you do the same and appreciate you showing that. There is no need to be mean and cruel to farm animals, they do have feelings too and I am thankful for them every day. Take care and ... Bless
What is that you are feeding the pigs outside?
I don't even know how I came across this video. I am sure glad I did. I love farm animals and I love it when people take the time to expain their job. Thank you!!
Those little tractor-starting segments are nice, and the flat tire on the hen mobile-hoop, is pretty priceless too! Nice video, thanks
Thanks Pete, another school day for me :) Watching, and listening, cows eat grass is nearly as nice as watching you cut the fields.
I love it when the cattle get vocal with you. Clearly there communicating there wants and needs.
The hens look very excited to be on new grass
How to’s are not near as powerful as you two sharing the joy in the work you perform….your joy is contagious and appreciated.
An early morning watch with my grandsons. They really enjoy watching all the things that happen on the farm....animals, tractors, food.
When you sort cattle you can mark them with chalk so thy are easy to keep track of. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Pete, I love watching you interact with your cows and pigs because you have such a deep affection for them. You seem so relaxed and in tune with the rhythm of your daily routine - it’s a pleasure to watch your videos.
Same...keep doing what u do pete.u inspire me daily
Hahaha I beg to differ, its clear he has affection for his cows but I don't think there is affection for the pigs lol
If you want to see real affection for pigs watch Kevin on Living Traditions Homestead..the pigs are his fave animals.small Idaho Pasture Pigs
Sunday stopped @ booth #72 and wide awake bakery. Have just finished watching your series on rebuilding your ancestry home and have to tell you; we did the same with an 1850's home built by my great grandfather. As I watched all I could say is "been there done that" and was amazed how similar styled our homes are, and 300 miles apart. Our daughter was the age yours were when we did ours but is now a veterinarian @ Cornell. Will stop and visit booth #72 on a Sat next trip.
I'm so impressed how you handle the cattle in that small space! Wow
I so appreciate that you show how you raise your animals with care and compassion. Raising animals for consumption is a fact of life but you show that they can be raised in a more natural, healthy way. Giving them a good life is important too.
Morning Pete big fan love the videos...... So why did the rooster cross the road? .... To prove he wasn't chicken.... Why did the cow cross the road? ... He thought he would find it amooosing.... Why did the horse cross the road? ... He was checking out the neigh...bourhood.... Why did the farmer cross the road? ... To get all his animals back
😂😂
That’s the best version of “why did the chicken cross the road?” Jokes I’ve ever heard! Hah heard!
Cute
Your comment made my day! ☺
What do you call a chicken running down the road? FAST FOOD! LOL love your jokes
Great video!! The elephant joke was hilarious Pete!! Have a great day Pete & Hillary!!
Congratulations to you and Hilary. The 2 Cattel heading to freezer camp look in great condition, how well they have finished on just grass. What a complement to you and your way of farming. Thanks for a great video :)
Salamanders are a good indication of how healthy your farm environment is. Good video Pete

Good save on the cattle separating! 👍
Love how the chickens run down the ramp‼️ Cackling away😄 good energy!
It nice with sunny day 😎. You have a great week and sale a lot at the market 😀$$
You know why cows wear bells around their necks?
It's cause their horns don't work.
That tickled my funny bone lol
We Aussies have strange SOH LOL
What do you call an Amish man with his arm all the way up a horse's butt?
He's a mechanic.
Lol
do you know why cows don't like the round bails of hay ?
because they can't get a square meal. 🤣
Hey Pete...I absolutely LOVE your videos. I laughed out loud when the big light brown cow head butted the black cow in the rear end as to say...."Move, get outta my way...I'm trying to eat!"
Thanks for the explanation on they why not in regards to chicken processing, totally makes sense. 👍
Reminds me of my childhood years. Add a few goats and horses and I'm back home! 🥰 Great job Pete and Hillary. God bless.
I know that this is a necessary evil to have meat in the grocery store but its still a very heart breaking thing to see and understand just how exactly how we have hamburger meat and chicken. they look happy and healthy. i wouldn't be able to be a meat farmer id get to attached to them. ty for what you do to provide for us.
Me also I would be a veggie
You make life so simple that you should launch yourself into public speaking! By far you have become my préférâtes channel as I find you so full of life but so down to earth. Please continue to inspire us to love life for what it is! Congratulations to you and of course Hilary. Thank you.
Veterinary Medicine would be a good career for one of your children or relatives. You might also need a canned cow laughter for your jokes. The joke, "it's all over town," followed by the cow moo, was almost perfect. Good vibes.
Awesome Papa you are Paul either way you're always their to help build awesome off-road vehicles. 🙏
The laying hens are about as happy for the new grass as the cows are. Thanks for doing the videos. Growing up on a farm, the videos bring back memories.
Won't be too long and you'll be feeding pigs in the trailer.
You have a wonderful farm. The animals are hAppy and very well taken care of. Great video
One of the fondest things that I enjoy watching is when you release the hens out of the clowns car 🐓🐔
To put it simply-I straight up love your videos.
Great video as always Pete, and I always enjoyed listening to the cows eat at night after milking with my uncle. And you're right somehow listening to that is relaxing with a beer!
For a townie like me I love watching these videos. Farming seems to be good common sense, and in your family’s case it comes in abundance..keep up the good work..forgot to say I liked you comparison between the colour of your pork meat and the supermarkets offerings. You have reformed my taste buds. 👏👏👏
Pete, the thumbnail had me a bit worried about what exactly you were going to find under that cow! I can do without surprises like THAT!
Hilary is a great wife! You guys pair so well. Thanks for all you do.
I remember Dad taking that can off the tractor before starting it - I'd forgotten that little item, thanks for the reminder.
All I can say is your (mostly silent) partner deserves way more mention! She works very hard! AS you do!!!!
I agree Hilarie is a hard worker, but I think she may enjoy being the silent parner lol
@@louiserawle8999 to be in your company as I can be in your arms for a long lunch uuú
@@beckyrichter5623 are you some kind of freak!!!!!!😱
I stumbled onto your channel about a year ago. I didn't really care for it until the MD rebuild.
Now I have watched most of your videos. I have much respect for you and especially your wife. It is quite obvious you have a passion for what you do. Keep up the awesome job and thank you for sharing your life.👍👍✌️
Got a good laugh out of the cows...”lemme see, lemme see, lemme see” 🤣😂😝. In the case of No. 2 and 6...curiosity killed the cat. ☹️
The care and compassion you and Hilary provide to your animals is commendable! ❤️

Thanks Pete. Another beautiful day on the farm. All the animals look nice and healthy.
pete you're a lucky man to have such a good wrangler as hillary. she's as good with the cattle as you are. looks like it's drying out a little for you.
The Mr. Rogers of farming. Another great video. Thanks for sharing
YOU are the All American GUY with the ALL American farm!!............love the videos!!
Really cool operation you have going there. Always looking forward to a new upcoming video
We call that radiator issue the "strawberry milkshake" at our shop.
I tried the eggspiriment myself the other day, typical supermarket egg vs a pasture raised organic small farm egg the local health coop sells.
It really was amazing how colorless the supermarket egg looks im comparison. I wouldn't know if they tasted all that different since I added in a bunch of taco seasoning, but the texture was noticeablely different too. The pasture eggs were much more fluffy and creamy.
I just happened upon this video while scrolling and I really enjoyed it since I love animals of all sorts! The way you move the laying hens' house and let them forage in fresh grass is something I have never seen! That's totally awesome!!
Bless you for your commitment to sustainable regenerative agriculture.
Every part of your operation is done with purpose and forethought, impressive!
Sheer bliss, Farming bliss! Whilst I envy you, we also understand the hard work required, dedication and commitment, Pete.
Just had your channel pop up and I really really have enjoyed watching the two that I've watched so far I love how you treat your animals and you're not there to make yourself rich you're there to make the community rich and I think that is absolutely phenomenal I'm looking forward to seeing more and I guess my favorite is the little piggies
Another great video! Keep up the amazing work feeding local families!!
Thank you for just a bit of sanity in today's world!

Excellent moving techniques you use to reduce the stress levels and make it easier for yourselves 👍🏼
You explain things so good I almost think I could do it. Your story about the infection you got was scary. Glad you recovered.
Good to hear the Dad jokes coming back, missed them!
It’s a mudpuppy! Cool!
Those pigs are growing! Wow! I’d love to taste one of your chickens!

Pete, another great video, thanks for sharing
Hi lovely farm and love that little creature sal well take care love that trailer for the hens take care God Bless
i had a nice time Pete and Hillary...thank you👌
Hi, Pete, I would just like to say how much me and my husband enjoy watching your videos. We used to farm on an small scale but it was strictly pigs for us - Tamworths. At the height of our farming we had ten sows and one boar. We sold close to a hundred weaners a year plus we sold sides and went to the farmers' market. Of course, videos where you show the pigs are my favourite but I do have one suggestion to make - more dishes! We found several dishes or troughs spread out work best because then everyone got a chance to eat equally and it cut down on "hogs at the trough". When it came time to take them to the butcher - around 230 pounds - they were all pretty well the same weight within 10 pounds or so. Thanks again for the videos!
Your channel is so entertaining. I grew up on a small farm and it brings back so many happy memories and a little homesickness. I don't blame you for not showing how you harvest chickens. It's such a dirty job but nothing better than farm fresh birds.
Thank you for your channel! I enjoy watching you work your farm. The chickens were so neat to watch. Also, I loved the cows. They are so adorable and look like they love you very much. Big fan from hot, boring Florida! Best of everything to you and your wife and again, thank you for the enjoyment I get watching your farm animals do their thing.
Good night Pete ,I love your farm so much, lovely chicken
Glad I found you. Cheers from Australia
