As someone who's not a brony, I can confirm that everything they say about watching the 1st episode and getting hooked is true. However, it is not as addicting as they make it out to be. It only managed hook me for like 10 episodes before I got bored and moved on to more mature things. It's certainly a good cartoon but not the best one out there and DEFINETLY not something to ruin your life over. I really hope these people will grow up someday.

Until I watched the 3rd episode and realized the rest of the season would probably be filler. And I was right. I really expected it to be akin to like Power Rangers where they had a new villain to fight every episode and would be using the Elements of Harmony to destroy them a la Sailor Moon. But, no. So, I just watch the premieres and finales and everything else in between does not exist. And yes, its not the best cartoon like its made out to be. I found Digimon to pull more heart strings than MLP: FiM ever did for me.
I couldn't get passed the 1st episode. Just not for me, I'll stick to Adventure Time for my childish enjoyment, much more creative imo. When I watched an episode of MLP I got a seizure because how bright everything was, I started to see random colors flashing around me, and when my mom was cooking food, The aroma of the food made me stop breathing and I started to hyperventilate... I have issues now.
I'd like to see a documentary about the mental state of people who hate something yet actively seek it out and feel the need to harass people for liking it, that can't be healthy.

I was being all y'know, mostly 63 years old and stuff watching this, appreciating it and being semi-mature until the long-haired blonde fellow mentioned Derpy, and I got hilariously happy and felt joy and harmony and giggly 🤗
The Internet can be a wonderful thing, but it's the reason that these people exist. Most boys who adored an animated show about ponies would be cast out by pretty much everybody (more so than they already are). But the Internet has dedicated communities to pretty much everything, so stuff like this is considered "normal" to these people because they realize there are others out there that get a hard-on when they see these ponies too. And then they flourish and expand until we have brony meet ups and fucking Brony Con. I try to tell myself that I'm so lucky to not be like this. I try to find the positive in this mess, but I just can't shake the fact that these people actually exist. It bothers me so much.

The weirdest thing about it is they think the two parter pilot of the show is like the whole season of Firefly like its the best episode ever and that people will flock to the show after watching it. But when you really look at it, the pilot was really over the top, heavy handed with its message, plot conveniences and there wasn't much tension or drama. Most people I knew when I was a brony didn't like the plot but watched more episodes anyway cos they were curious. You can clearly tell this was made back in 2011 when broncs thought this show was a masterpiece, blinded by pure bliss before realising that every show has its flaws.
